Naruto New
Naruto by NuBee and Valeria

The concept of experience level determining what you get from other purchases is a bit iffy as thing go. You either have to spend half your budget to be a viable combatant, or banking on Child Prodigy and starting early enough with no severe drawbacks to turn yourself from a potential man into someone worth a damn. You can of course spend your whole starting budged, take every bounty drawback to be hunted by the world, let Orochimaru hunt you down for your place as a Jumper and leave Naruto dead to become an Otsutsuki with Kage rank experience and spend your 10 years as a resident murder-hobo.

Not really, just be a genius otsutsuki instead of an experienced one, it's cheaper and better long term. You can grow and reach that kage level in less than a year. The genius perks makes you learn 200x faster than normal. The kage takes 30 years of training to reach that level at max, if the average human couldn't reach it in their 30s to 40s then they never will. The biggest example is a 13 year old itachi being a kage level, beating orochimaru, danzo and killing his clan. Another is 14 year old kage gaara.

The jumps makes you in the group age of the konoha 9, you can exchange potential, bloodline, and talent for immediate power. Sasuke would be someone who is a genius with the uchiha bloodline, and some experience with fire style.

This is my build for example:
Allegiance: Konohagakure
Race: Human
Name: Naruto Namikaze

You are deliberately ignoring the fact that drawbacks can't be trumped by perks and applying weird interpretation to them. How does anything you described in Fanatic count as destructive belief? Geezer doesn't just say that you are 70, it adds if not older and for it to be a proper drawback it will still make you feel like a 70 year old human even if you are an Otsutsuki. Taking second intensity of bounty for all five factions means that they start a world war to get you and since your own village hates your guts I don't see why they would bother protecting you. Finally I can't even fathom how you ended up with full nine tails sealed inside you without spending 1000 CP on the Jinchuriki option.

Oh, you mean the drawback social pariah?

Yeah, I meant to replace it with the reason for being hated bc of my weird looks. Ignore that part, I did mention that kushina is alive though and she is the current jinchuriki.

Look, if you are seeing drawbacks as no limit debuff that can't be cheated or removed, then there is no way I can convince you. The drawback does what it says, it makes you someone who is beyond his prime due to old age. It doesn't mention that you can't find a new body, like with living corpse reincarnation to return to your youth. It doesn't mention someone who has the ability to manipulate biology or matter and de-age you like panacea, atom eve or overhaul. It doesn't mention that if you are a species that doesn't get affected by age, it will affect you.

Like if you can manipulate time and de-age yourself, why wouldn't it work? The drawback doesn't mention that it can't be removed or fixed.

Another example is a drawback that says that you lose one of your limbs, if if doesn't mention that you can't regenerate it or get healed/fixed by someone else, or regain it in any way other way possible. Then you can heal it immediately after the jump start if you have a regen power.

Social pariah makes the average villager hate you, not the people in power. It's exactly like a jinchuriki, they are just avoided and mistreated but not killed unless the kage said so, the kage here is your dad minato.

Yeah, if you ignore drawbacks being drawbacks then it sure is convenient to take all those free points to make the Jump worth it. I don't know how you want to weasel your way out of every major village, their allies, Orochimaru with Otogakure and Akatsuki joining to crush Konoha, but with an attitude like that I'm sure just saying that your new parents crush everyone else because they are so powerful or something equally insane is an answer.

Your logic is honestly stupid, if a drawbacks mention that you start in a specific location, does that mean you will stay at that place for all the jump?

Does that mean you can't leave the place?

The drawback makes all other 5 nation hate me, it doesn't say that I can't resolve this peacefully. Like if you have Path to victory or any precognition power, can't you just find the future that resolve it for you?

Oro in part 1 was super weak, 13 year old itachi beat him. Give me 6 months and I will be stronger than all 5 kage.

Oh ho, so we are down to using out of context powers to make a build valid now? if you are powerful enough to crush everyone already then of course it's a viable build.

As for Orochimaru. Give you six months? Who will give you six months if 4th shinobi world war with you as a main target starts immediately? You will hide behind your new daddy and mommy?

It doesn't matter whether something is inside or outside the context. A power does one thing, and a drawback does another. If a drawback specifically states that you are in your 70s and past your prime, but doesn't mention that this affects races like the Otsutsuki, who don't physically or biologically decline with age, or that it stops immortality and regeneration abilities that could restore you to your prime, then it doesn't.

A drawback does exactly what it says, no more and no less. If you have an Eternal Youth perk that prevents aging and keeps you physically in your 20s, the drawback would override it, and you would be 70. However, if you belong to a race that suffers no adverse effects from being 70 years old, then the drawback doesn't suddenly impose those effects on you.

Likewise, if you possess a regeneration ability capable of reversing all negative physical effects, including aging, you could simply regenerate back to your prime unless the drawback explicitly states that its effects cannot be reversed or circumvented. The limb-related drawbacks are a good example of this distinction.

Edit: Like even in verse and in the jump, there is an immortality jutsu (Living corpse reincarnation) that orochimaru used to overcome aging available to be purchased. The drawback doesn't mention that it stops the jutsu or any other method from working on you.

Seems like it is because of min-maxing munchkins like you that authors have to spell out that you can't regenerate a lost limb or use a prosthetic. Eh whatever, if you like to feel clever by "outsmarting" drawbacks then you do you.

It literally does though, since it says past your prime, it's enforcing you being past your prime, a younger body is suddenly past your prime(Just not In appearance), Living Corpse reincarnation is suddenly past your time. You'd only get aesthetic benefits because by fiat you're past your prime. Even if you were immortal it makes you past your prime, age is the flavor, past your prime in equivalent for a human is actual effect, which is still dangerous AF with how you actually need to be if there's an entire fucking war. I don't know much about Naruto, though I'm interested in reading and watching as much as I can, age downsides here are flavor, not raw effect.

Seriously if they're going to try to Outsmart Drawbacks The UDS has an anti-cheese which removes the fiat from drawbacks, so now living corpse reincarnation works but you can't cheese via any method. Or the +300 version to just make sure this cheese is impossible.

This is retarded logic, so if a drawback drops you in a specific location, Then you are locked to that place?

if a drawback made you a child, then you are locked to that age?

This is how stupid the logic is.

The drawback made you a child or an older past your prime, that's it. Unless It mention that it can't be fixed or removed, then it can be removed and overcome

1.Please don't use a slur.
2.Drawbacks can't be overcome reasonably, a drop in a location isn't a location lock, but an age lock is an age lock.

If a drawbacks that removes one of your limbs or senses, and doesn't mention that you can't regain it in any shape, way or form, then you can regain them and heal them.

If a drawbacks gives you an enemy, and doesn't mention that you can't remove them in any shape, way or form, or that a new enemy will take their place, then you can kill them and move on them.

A drawback is a forced start, if it doesn't mention that this start can't be removed for the rest of the jump, then you can overcome it and fix it.

That kind of ruins the point of drawbacks, because it makes them into free points with In-Jump or Ooc Means you might've already wanted.

Tbh tho, the gaining new arm or killing the enemy examples i agree with, and how I treat those type of drawbacks, I've seen other jumpchain specify about losing a arm and NOT being able to replace it, or u cant get rid of a trauma, but others where u just be in the shit list of a faction, it would be fine if in story you some how be able to do it cuz then you still worked for it

Its like fighting against cancer, getting it sucks but if one is able to fight through the battles and eventually conquer it why shouldn't you be free from cancer

True, I think those specificiations were because of the cheese in question, which is why I suggested just taking the 300 UDS points and not doing this crap, or taking none and removing the fiat, so you can do the crap it'll just be harder.

True, but if you're losing a body part from the drawback you should lose the damn part.
Now its becoming more of a personal tastes of story rather than it reasoning why it should not be replaceable

I mean drawbacks in stories are supposed to be solved not be an active detriment to the user through the entire thing, its like if goku with his heart virus that he suddenly got caught with, what a reasonable thing to do in this situation? Try and find a way to solve the problem, like with trunks coming from the future and helping with a medicine to cure it.

Or like how naruto couldn't use the rasengan in time for against the bet with tsunade, so he cheated the system by using his shadow clones to help him make a rasengan in the earlier seasons,

Or ichigo trying to overcome the hollow side when it was becoming a detriment when it could be more helpful

And all of these examples I mentioned are drawbacks I've seen in jumpchain, so saying to suck it up and let them be on you seems like not a good one.

well for naruto one its more about being having shitty chakra control overall but naruto had that entire series and his solution is to use very chakra extensive jutsus like shadow clones when regular clones are too hard for him to use cuz he had shitty control

Yeah I might be overestimating drawback fiat's function at this point, but I'm going to stop at this point because you didn't call me a slur so I have nothing with you.

You explained an actual good point, instead of calling me a slur.(This is me better explaining since Being called a slur didn't help with me and being defensive)

Its fine! I just like giving out thoughts and making sure give proper replies it pays nothing to be courteous, and pays alot more when being rude to a person, this was fun arguing about how drawbacks work in jumpchains in a individual opinion

Sides I would only act like a Xbox live gamer when its actually appropriate and its only for funs

ASOIAF - The Small Council New
ASOIAF - The Small Council

I'm not a big fan of low-fantasy with a focus on politics that is A Song of Ice and Fire setting, but it is a good Jump with a lot of useful options. Doesn't hurt that you can turn the setting into whatever you want with AU and Supplement toggles. Implementing Magic/Items/Lands discounts was really time consuming. Curse that blurb about making 100 points choices free if you discount them, without it you could have easily used a built in discount system as opposed to the monstrosity I had to create.

Makes sense, this just isn't the appropriate place to do it.
