I again thank you for your huge effort to make the tag system streamlined and thus increasing its functionality.

I'm standardising 'protag' over 'mc' because mc is a common acronym for mind control
I looked up the term, and IIRC it meant 'insecurity about having small tits', which is distinct from just having them. AIUI, you don't even need to have a character with small tits to tag pettanko, they just need to be smaller than another character's.Any particular reason 'pettanko' isn't part of the 'small tits' synonym group? Seems like it should be there.
Hmm, maybe the term's meaning has gained nuance in the fifteen years since I saw it used frequently...I looked up the term, and IIRC it meant 'insecurity about having small tits', which is distinct from just having them. Given that it's a Japanese term, I wouldn't be surprised if English usage of it usually doesn't carry the nuance, especially when the presentation is 'character focused on their flat chest'. Double-checking, I myself got it slightly wrong, as it's 'insecurity or obsession', so a character who's very proud of their small tits would also count.Hmm, maybe the term's meaning has gained nuance in the fifteen years since I saw it used frequently...
It is a shota with a big dick, so the former seems very likely. Thanks.
Worse, it's a Japanese slang term - the meaning has probably mutated multiple times since it started to be used by the Anime community.Given that it's a Japanese term, I wouldn't be surprised if English usage of it usually doesn't carry the nuance, especially when the presentation is 'character focused on their flat chest'. I'll reply in detail later, and apply edits, but just at a quick skim a lot of this looks very useful. Thanks a lot. Thanks for all the work on this.
Feedback below, roughly most useful first.
…
Thank you for doing this.
it's not rape if we are both screeming - ...} rape: the tag literally says it isn't rape.
- {cock drunk - fucked silly - mind-shattering orgasms - love = orgasms} ahegao: ahegao is a specific face; these are about intensity.
- {... eventual oyakodon - possible oyakodon} oyakodan → canonical should be "oyakodon" (that tag exists, 9).
- {mild bimbofication} bimboification → "bimbofication" exists (45); "bimboification" looks like a typo.
- {womb tattoos} womb tattoos → points at itself. Probably meant {womb tattoo} womb tattoos (both exist, 6 each).
- {violent bloody deaths} violent death. → the canonical has a trailing period; should be "violent death".
- {semi-forced prostitution} forced_prostitution → the canonical has an underscore; should be "forced prostitution" (you merge other underscore tags into the spaced version, e.g. face_fucking → face fucking).
Bracket mismatches in the Full list: "{deepthroating]", "... bitch gets a pony] horse cock", "{protagonist willing to sexually experiment> 1".
- {ass slapping} slapping: that's spanking, and <spanking> (27) is sitting in strays. Face slapping is something else.
- {... - verbal abuse} humiliation: verbal abuse is a content warning, not a kink; it fits abuse better.
- {groping - fondling} molestation / {sexual harasser - chikan} sexual harassment: chikan IS groping (on trains). And groping/fondling can be consensual; "molestation" isn't.
- {selfcest? - clone sex - ...} selfcest: clone sex (7) can be sex with someone else's clone.
- {brother sister - ...} brother-sister incest: "brother sister" alone may just mean siblings.
- {tatoo - tattoos} tattoo fetishism: plain "tattoos" is usually description, not fetish.
- {sex for favors - sexual favors - fake relationship} transactional sex: fake relationship (fake dating) is a romance trope.
- {ghost - ghost aunt - ghost mom - spirits} ghosts: "spirits" (14) is much broader (nature spirits, fox spirits, heroic spirits).
- {pole dancing - stripping} strip club: stripping happens outside clubs too; <strip tease> could join stripping.
- <gore (possible)> (14) → "gore possible", like character death possible
- <cowgirl position> (10) is the obvious canonical when doggy style and missionary get one. <cowgirl> (8) is ambiguous (position, cow-girl, western).
- {... - mating press} missionary position: mating press (7) is its own position and searched on its own.
- {cumshot - bukkake} facial: bukkake (20) is a group act, searched/excluded on its own.
- {spitroasting} double penetration: spitroast is mouth + one other hole; DP usually means two below.
- {non fatal vore - i don't do fatal vore} soft vore: in vore jargon, soft vore = swallowed whole without chewing/gore, and it can still be fatal. Non-fatal is usually "endo" / "safe vore".
- {orgasm torture - overstimulation} sexual torture: overstimulation is often consensual play; this files it under torture.
- {even evil have loved ones} villains need love too: "Even Evil Has Loved Ones" is also a TV Tropes trope, with a different meaning (the villain cares about family/friends).
- {knights & magic - swords and magic} sword and sorcery: Knight's & Magic is a light novel/anime.
- {perverted ninjutsu - sexy no jutsu} slut ninjas: sexy no jutsu is Naruto's transformation technique.
Protag tags folded into non-protag ones: "shapeshifting protag", "reincarnated protag", "angsty protag" are merge canonicals, then listed as synonyms of shapeshifting / reincarnation / angst. Everywhere else protag tags stay separate.
- Non-protag tags in protag canonicals: "pervert" → horny protag; "stud", "satyriasis" → manwhore protag; "terrible flirting" → flirty protag.
- "Possible" / "?" variants: your existing groups keep them separate (possible harem, possible romance, possible yuri, possible smut), and this batch does too for incest?, mind control?, mindbreak?, vore?, bestiality?, potential impregnation. But this batch folds them into the main tag for mpreg (mpreg possible), twincest (possible twincest), yandere (yandere?), selfcest (selfcest?), guro (technically guro?), abuse (abuse?). Also implied/referenced abuse goes into abuse, while implied incest stays separate.
Will move that.- In the Strays spoiler there is a synonym group: "{cartoon} cartoons".
Yeah, that's just a consequence of the way I'm separating tags sometimes overlapping with the tag formulation itself. It won't be an issue when I'm synonymising.- In alien sex, "also" is really part of one tag, "also - hot filthy alien space sex"; the " - " inside it splits it in two in your notation.
Will edit that synonym to account for the merge.- "dragonknight": merged into dragon knight AND synonym of dragon riders.
Will keep synonymised with the former, due to its usage.
I'll remove that from the impregnation group.- "the fox will be bred": canonical of {slooty fox} AND a synonym of impregnation.
Will remove from the love interests group.- "sexy eldritch mom": in eldritch love interests AND in strays.
Hmm. Keep in vampires group maybe?
*checks* Seems so.- "outside pov" is merged into third-person narrative, while "pov outsider" goes to non-mc pov. Same thing; both belong in non-mc pov.
My assumption was that the former is more likely to be referencing sex (and possibly just sex) while the latter is more likely to be a relationship configuration (sometimes without sex). I could be wrong though.- "f/f/m threesome" and "m/f/f" are two canonicals for the same configuration.
True, was very unsure about what to do with those. I might group those three together, separate from the 'waifu' or 'monogamy' groups.- "best waifu" and "main waifu" → monogamy: a harem can have a main waifu. "waifufagging" isn't monogamy either.
What is 'oral vore'? I thought it could either mean 'vore after giving oral' or 'vore from eating/swallowing', and I guessed the former (which is why I paired it with dick vore), but maybe it's distinguishing it from consuming using other orifices?- {dick vore} oral vore: dick vore = cock vore, a distinct type (like anal vore and unbirth, which you keep apart).
…it seems clear at a glance why I mixed that up, but I'm still kinda confused how I managed to do that.- {... - vote fetishes - ...} vore: "vote fetishes" most likely means fetishes picked by vote (quests). It belongs next to "kinks determined by votes" in all fetishes welcome.
Will probably put that in the 'sex toys' group.- {... machine fucking - fucking machines ...} robot sex: fucking machines are sex devices, not robots.
True. And the usage seems conventional; will separate.- {cyberware sex - ...} cybersex: "cybersex" normally means online sex; the canonical name will mislead.
Breastfeeding doesn't necessarily reference 'with a baby' (and doesn't seem to be for the involved threads). 'female milking' feels slightly more industrial than 'breastfeeding', but they're both 'lactation'. Not sure whether it's worth separating out 'female milking' as a stray.- {... female milking - breastfeeding} lactation vs {lots of milking} milking: female milking in one group, lots of milking in the other. Breastfeeding a baby isn't the kink.
Ah. Yeah, I'll rejig the 'first time' tags to be separate from the virgin ones.- {first time} virgin sex: "first time" (12) often means first time together, not virginity.
Fair. Will add 'drinking' as a Synonym of 'alcohol', and probably have 'alcoholism' as a separate group. Will probably put 'blood drinking' next to (but not grouped with) the vampire stuff too.- {alcohol - rampant alcoholism} alcoholism: "alcohol" (7) fits drinking better.
I'll separate both into strays I think.- {female cheating on male} hotwife: hotwife is consensual, cheating isn't. Belongs in cheating.
I think the involved thread meant it literally, looking at the other tags, but will separate for potential future usage.- {... - pet the dog} dog: "Pet the Dog" is the TV Tropes trope (villain shows kindness).
AIUI mindfuck can also mean a confusing narrative, and both could simultaneously mean messing with someone's mind (in a mind control sense). I put them together because they're both ambiguous in the same way.- {mindscrew - ...} mindfuck: Mind Screw = confusing narrative (TV Tropes). "mindfuck" itself is ambiguous in a list that also has mindbreak
I did know that slang, but surprisingly all usage on QQ was literal eggs.- {egg} eggs: "egg" is also trans slang, and your own strays have "jon...might get his egg cracked".
Yeah, I'd put 'time' as the Canonical tag for ambiguous 'time fuckery' and 'timey wimey' tags in a previous batch, but thought again that 'time' is too generic for even that. I'm inclined to keep 'time fuckery' as the Canonical, but I might separate 'time' as a 'what do you even mean?' stray.
Oh. Maybe? Will separate.- {waifu on waifu action} waifu wars: that's girl-on-girl, not waifu wars.
Hmm. I suppose so.
Are you saying I should separate them into three groups of 'character death', 'minor character death', and 'major character death'? Rather, I should do that regardless of whether you meant that.- {... major character death - minor character death} character death: "major character death" (18) is a standard AO3 warning people exclude specifically.
Both are referencing 'The Zombie Knight Saga'. I might normal merge 'zombie knight' into 'zombie knight saga', then hard-merge into the full title, so 'zombie knight' doesn't auto convert in the future.- {zombie knight saga} zombie knight: possibly the web serial (The Zombie Knight) rather than a trope. Not sure, worth a look.
I chose 'mindbreak' because of the grammatical similarity with 'heartbreak', but wikitionary (and the other top results) use 'mind break', so I will change it to that.- [mind-break - mind break] mindbreak: "mind break" has 150 uses vs 32 for "mindbreak". I'd make "mind break" canonical.
Given they all mean the same thing, 'hypnosis' is shorter than 'hypnotism'. 'Hypno' is even shorter, but it's also a pokemon name, so… will make 'hypnosis' Canonical, with 'hypno' and (maybe 'hypnofetish'?) as Synonyms.- [hypno - hypnosis - hypnotizing] hypnotism: "hypnosis" 49 vs "hypnotism" 20. <hypnofetish> (17) could join.
Yeah. I had a vague desire to prioritise the English, but people on QQ know what 'ntr' means, even if they don't know what 'netorase' or 'netori' mean.- {ntr - ... - netorare - cuckold} cuckolding: ntr (119) + netorare (30) vs cuckolding (13), and all your satellite canonicals use ntr (ntr possible, ntr probable, ntr world, anti-ntr). I'd use "ntr".
I suppose 'vaginal sex' doesn't necessarily imply 'straight'. Will reorganise.- {vaginal sex - penis_in_vagina_sex} straight sex: "vaginal sex" (70) is clearer, and "straight sex" sits right next to "straight" (the existing het canonical). <vaginal> (6) in strays belongs here.
Maybe 'dorky protag'.- {mc is an evil dork} mc is a dork: uses "mc", which you're standardising away from. "dork protag"?
Yeah, it looks better that way to me, but given all the existing use is 'ai', I'll squash that urge and stick with the standard.- Your existing canonicals use "ai" without dots (ai generated, ai assisted, ai images, ai chatbot), so "a.i. sex", "a.i. protag", "a.i. waifu", "a.i. love you" are the odd ones out.
Fair.- Joke canonicals: "heart eyes best fetish", "seduce everyone!", "goodness sexy" (→ "good is sexy", parallel to "evil is sexy").
I'm keeping both Japanese and English name's for properties, because people can have strong opinions about which you should use, and I don't need to overrule anyone's preferences on this. I still generally only have one tag for each language, which is the full spelled out name, so it's 'kantai collection' and 'kancolle' that is the odd one out (will merge those).- {kantai collection} kancolle, {mahoako} gushing over magical girls, {kimetsu no yaiba} demon slayer, {kobayashi-san chi no maid dragon} miss kobayashi's dragon maid, {rīnkānēshon no kaben} petals of reincarnation: same works under another title, so merges by your definition. You used [ ] for mahouka in the same batch.
My understanding of 'commissions' was less 'open commissions' (which is why that's a stray) and more 'this is a thread with multiple (or exclusively) commissions'. It's an author who does commissions, but not necessarily implying that they've got time in their schedule for more work atm.- "commission" vs "commissions": very close names for different meanings (this work is commissioned / the author takes commissions). "commissioned work" / "open commissions" would be clearer, and <open commissions> is in strays.
That's intentional.- Singular/plural as synonyms instead of merges: shortstack/shortstacks, bad end/bad ends.
I kept those separate because 'inhuman' can mean 'non-human' but it can also mean 'immoral'.- "non-human protag" (46, in strays) and "inhuman protag" (merge canonical) are the same thing. I'd merge into non-human protag.
The first is the state of the universe (which might not have anything to do with any of the characters), while the second is an active process.- Near-duplicate canonicals: "reality warped" vs "reality warping" (55); "eventual god tier" vs "divine ascension".
Oh. Does '/' definitively indicate a romantic/sexual relationship?- [mother daughter] mother and daughter vs [mom/son - mother-son - mother/son] mother and son: for daughters you split relationship and incest; for sons the slash pairing "mother/son" goes to the relationship tag.
Japanese slang term meaning 'character obsessed with, or insecure about, their flat chest'. This is distinct from the generic 'small tits', which could be a description of the protagonist, or their sexual preference. Japanese slang, so whether usage matches that nuance, *shrugs*, but keeping separate.
My understanding of 'lead' is as a synonym for 'protagonist' (though not necessarily a viewpoint one). Keeping the protag tags separate from the generic descriptors, as you've noted.
I see 'npc' as more video-game vibed, and they can be the focus without there being an 'mc' (though there'd be generic 'players').
Stomach bulge and belly bulge, yeah. I'm less sure about pairing them with 'cock bulge', as they both have different possible meanings, and they aren't the same meanings.- <cock bulge> + <stomach bulge> + "belly bulge" (3, not in your list) together
'multi-partner sex' I saw as 'having sex with multiple people at once', while 'multiple sexual partners' could mean 'having sex with multiple people, separately'.
Hmm. The sole 'doggy' tagged thread has bestiality with a dog, so maybe not.
People adding 'au' to existing tags makes everything unnecessarily difficult, as it now means there's a fake relationship and the entire world is changed from canon in unspecified ways. Just use the 'au' tag! *grumble grumble*
It does. A Saint Bernard in fact.
-the tag export (assuming you're refering to this) was just over four months ago now. (I would say 'time flies', but that gap feels right.)Numbers in brackets are use counts from a tag export you gave a few weeks ago, so they are slightly off.
Yeah, I remember checking that when I was deciding. I likely will doublecheck again before actually doing it, and I might make them normal merges. So your split already matches how people use them, and my point doesn't hold.
