Chapter 63 New
It was tomorrow morning, the sunlight was filtered through the dark heavy clouds of Forks, the roads were starting to see cars moving around as people headed to their own workplaces, or to their school.

Driving towards Fork's Highschool inside a silver volvo, were the Cullen family, Alice Cullen, Emmet Cullen, Jasper Hale and Rosalie Hale.

The Cullens usually took two cars, a red jeep as well as the volvo however since Edward wasn't around, they didn't see the need to.

Inside the car, Alice was practically jumping on her seat, unable to hide her excitement for the day, meanwhile Jasper who was seated next to her on the car's backseats, looked like he was so very close to having a full blown migraine.

"Alice… can you calm down?" He asked softly with that southern drawl to his voice as he turned his head slightly towards her.

"Oh, right. Sorry Jazz, It's just that I'm totally going to make him spend more time with me today and then I'm gonna make him go shopping with me after school and maybe even like go to…" Alice said as she started practically rambling her mouth of at the hundreds of ideas that she had about her day, causing Jasper to raise his hand up, his palm facing her.

"Stop… we get it, I shouldn't have even said anything." Jasper muttered softly as he released a sigh and turned his head to gaze out of the window.

"It's weird though, I had this really bad premotion last night, it's why im a bit frantic right now. I didn't see any visions… but it's just a bad feeling. I'm sure its nothing." Alice muttered under her breath as her excitement slowly dwindled as she turned her own head to gaze out of the window on her side of the car.

"Bad premotion? You? That… let's just hope it's nothing." Jasper replied softly, he and the other two had heard Alice speak clearly even though her voice had been barely a murmur under her breath.

Around twenty minutes later, the four of them arrived before the parking lot as Emmet drove the car inside and parked it at their usual spot before turning the engine off as the four of them got out of the car.

Bella Swan seemed to have arrived before they had, as she could be seen standing by her orange truck on the other side of the highschool parking lot.

"That's Bella right? Edward's blood singer, she's early today." Emmet muttered as he gazed towards her, he wasn't one to usually care about anyone besides his own family and so he hadn't really bothered to even learn much about the girl, and Edward himself hadn't said much before he had decided to simply head to Alaska at the denali to deal with his own bloody urges.

This was the complete opposite of Alice who had rambled her mouth off so much that every single Cullen, Carlisle and Esme included already knew even the smell of Alan's hair, his exact eye colour, how apparently his voice was sent by the heavens themselves just for Alice and a lot more frankly quite useless information that they had been forced to hear because Alice couldn't simply shut her mouth for a single second.

"He's a bit late isn't he?" Alice muttered softly to herself as she looked around and yet she couldn't see Alan anywhere.

"Maybe he just overslept? You worry too much." Emmet said as he stretched his arms behind his back, making his already large figure look even more gigantic.

"I… don't know, maybe? I mean he did miss first class like two times just this past week. I'll stay here." Alice said in turn as she turned her gaze towards the entrance of the parking lot where the students who came on foot would enter from.

"You're seriously going to skip for a human?" Rosalie finally spoke up, her tone cold as ice as she narrowed her eyes towards Alice, her gaze seeming to almost pierce into her.

"Yes, I am. It's not like we are actually learning anything are we?" Alice replied instantly.

The two step sisters had been fighting and making comments about eachother ever since the day when Carlisle had given Alice the go about Alan, Rosalie didn't particularly hate Alan, she simply hated the fact that a human was getting involved into matters that they had no place in. Alice knew this, she knew that Rosalie hated her own existence and that Rosalie wished no one else had to ever suffer the same fate as she had.

Alice however had no such problems, to her, her existence as a vampire, as a cold one, was natural, as someone who didn't have the memories of her human self, being a 'Cold One' was simply her base state, her 'normal.' And so she didn't see the reason as to why Rosalie was so against her getting Alan entangled with their world.

Minutes passed and soon enough the bell signaling the start of the classes rang, as Jasper and Emmet gave Alice a nod of understanding before turning to head towards the front entrance of the highschool whilst Rosalie remained behind for a bit longer.

"Alice… you're making a mistake, you're going to put all of us in danger, all of us. Is a human… even if he's really special to you… worth losing the entire family? The Volturi always thought of us as a thorn to their side, they just need a single excuse…" Rosalie muttered softly towards Alice, her voice calmer and softer than the previous icy tone that she had used all week.

"I know… I know Rosalie, but to me… he's already the one for me, It's already been decided before I ever even met him. He… already holds the same importance as the rest of us." Alice replied, her own tone softer than before, as she tried to explain just what she felt, hoping for at least a little understanding from Rosalie.

Chapter 64 New
Soon after, Rosalie similarly walked away from her after exchanging another look before walking away towards the front doors of the Forks Highschool.

Alice remained alone as she watched the front gates of the highschool, waiting there, waiting for the one person who had been able to somehow bring colour into her world without even trying. Waiting for the one that had completely filled her thoughts over the past few days.

Minutes passed into an hour, the sky darkening further as the clouds rumbled overhead, light drops of rain starting to hit the pavement and yet Alan Walker was nowhere to be seen.

'Please… please.' Alice thought to herself as her desperation slowly started to show, her usually amber eyes having already darkened into a pitch black colour, leaving her eyes almost pupiless as the colours reached almost the same pitch black darkness, both the iris and the pupil inside the eyes.

More time passed and the rain started increasing in intesinity to a full blown downpour as Alice stood there, in the parking lot, she was entirely drenched in water by this point and yet she refused to move even a single inch.

Her body already cold, somehow becoming even colder, meanwhile her eyes that before had slightly showed her desperation, were now almost fully wide, it was like an animal that was on full alert, and yet the alert it was waiting for, wasn't coming.

'I… I can't take this anymore.' Alice thought as she turned and in an instant, her body became a blur as she vanished from the parking lot.

She knew that she shouldn't do this, she knew that it was likely that Alan was simply skipping school, that maybe he had simply overslept more than usual, she knew that she shouldn't head to someones house just for them being late an hour and a half and yet she couldn't stop herself.

Every instinct of hers was telling her, screaming at her that something wasn't quite right.

It didn't take her long, in fact it merely took two minutes to reach Alan's apartment, what took Alan almost half an hour, merely took her a few minutes, the speed was blinding, it was a level at which regular people and even most supernatural creatures could never hope to achieve.

She finally stopped as she arrived to stand before the apartment building and looked upwards, without hesitating even a second longer, she jumped as she quickly started climbing up the side of the building easily until she reached Alan's apartment floor and peered inside through the window.

Everything… looked normal, too normal. There was nothing wrong, the bed was made and no one was inside, the front door was also locked and the key wasn't inside, so it was clear that Alan had either left or hadn't come home, but everything was pointing that he had already left, and she currently didn't have anything to go off of that would make her believe otherwise.

'Was I over-reacting? Maybe he just went somewhere with those kids… damned, and I told him that he shouldn't go and do drugs… haah… I'll have to get Carlisle to get Charlie or someone and imprison them, I can't have them corrupting MY mate.' Alice thought to herself as she almost released a feral growl at the mere thought of someone else stealing 'her' time with Alan before she shook her head to clear her thoughts for a slight moment and then she jumped down towards the ground, from a multiple story high positon and onto the ground.

And yet she didn't make a single noise once she landed onto the ground, as if she was lighter than a feather, before she turned around and vanished in another blur of speed.

Meanwhile, inside of Alan's apartment… the scene that could be seen from outside the window abruptly changed as the clean apartment… vanished into one that looked almost completely ransacked and ran through.

The three corpses of Jeannie, Adrian and John could be seen on the floor, the smell of rot already permeating the air, meanwhile the black haired, blue eyed, beautiful man was sitting on Alan's bed, his gaze directed towards the window as a soft smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Alan… oh Alan, you just keep getting more and more fascinating, A vampire mate… how… utterly beautiful. It just makes me want you… so much more." The man muttered in that soft posh voice to himself before releasing a soft chuckle and closing his eyes and taking a deep breath of air.

"Aahh~... the smell, it's getting quite nice. A bit more and it'll be simply excuqisite… I wonder If you'll appreciate my… welcome home gift. Alan Walker." The man muttered to himself as the smile slowly started widening.

Hours kept passing, the downpour of rain stopping a few hours later, the sun having already reached its peak although as always it was completely hidden from sight by the dense clouds that were as always present on Fork's skyline.

Alice had gone back to the highschool and started attending her classes… and yet even as the second portion of classes started after the lunch period, even after the sun started to slowly descend, Alan… didn't arrive at all.

'That… I'll have to teach him a good lessson…. If only he wasn't so easily manipulated by pieces of…' Alice thought to herself obliviously whilst she was in her Art class, her hand holding the pencil so tightly that cracks had spread all over it, and yet she didn't notice at all.

*Crack* *Bang*

The pencil finally cracked enough that it exploded in her hand, sending small splinters and small chunks of wood flying, and yet she still… didn't even lift her head, whilst her classmates that were seated at desks closeby to hers turned their heads and looked at her with pure shock and confusion.

Alice was known to be… quite a weirdo if anyone had anything to say about her, but she wasn't known to be aggressive or an angry person at all, the current her left everyone befuddled, it was a sight none of them had ever seen on the pixie woman.

Chapter 65 New
Hours continued to pass, the moon rising up into the sky and then slowly falling back down again, It was now friday, and yet Alan Walker was nowhere to be seen. The man however waited, he waited patiently, having not once even moved away from his spot on the bed, that same smile ever present on his face as he simply gazed at the window out of the apartment room… and waited.

Alice meanwhile had already gone back to the Cullen mansion, and as the next came came, she once more arrived at the Fork's highschool early in the morning, and then she waited… once more, she waited by the parking lot, the first class hour passing, the second and third quickly following and yet she refused to move from her position at the front of the parking lot.

Waiting for that familiar figure to walk through the front gates of the school… and yet it never came.

Finally, lunch period arrived, and Rosalie Hale, Jasper Hale and Emmet Cullen, walked towards her.

"Alice… you should go home, we'll help you find him later, even get Carlisle to check and maybe file a police report if no one has seen him. I asked around, and no one's seen the three that he hung around with either." Jasper Hale said softly with that southern voice as he softly placed a palm on her shoulder, he was using his gift to the maximum of his capabilities and yet he could barely hold her back.

He could sense it, Alice… Alice was really close to practically going feral. It was an emotional range that he had never seen from the woman, something he couldn't even believe until now that she was capable of feeling.

Alice didn't turn her head, her gaze still fixed onto the road outside the school parking lot, her body stiff as rock and cold as ice.

"Alice… You can't be here with how you are at the moment… you could put humans at danger." Rosalie said softly as she walked closer to her, even she, who would have usually been glad that Alan wasn't coming around, knew that she couldn't push, not when her sister looked ready enough to rip someone apart with her bare hands, and the fact that she could actually do it, didn't help the matter at hand at all.

Finally, at her voice, Alice's eyes narrowed slightly before she nodded and started walking towards the road and out of the school grounds, she didn't vanish in a blur of speed, she didn't take the car, she simply walked out, at normal human speeds.

The three others were left there standing watching her walk away, knowing that they had to find a solution, before Alice decided to take matters truly into her own hands, and that could cause potentially catastrophic outcomes. None of them knew what an enraged and utterly feral Alice would be capable of, and none of them wanted to find out or let the matter get that far.

"Call Carlisle, right now." Emmet muttered under his breath as he turned towards the other two.

Jasper nodded in an instant as he took his phone out of his pocket and brought it to his ear.

*Ring* * Ring* * Ring*

The phone rang three times before Carlisle picked it up, he was in his office at the Forks Hospital, checking over some medical documents when he had recieved the call.

"Alice, she's not well. Her 'mate' Alan Walker hasn't been to school yesterday or today, and neither have his friends." Jasper said simply, he didn't need to explain anything further than that, Carlisle would understand the gravity of the matter instantly, they weren't ones to usually call each other unless it was an extreme circumstance, and currently… it seemed like one.

Meanwhile inside a completely different dimension, a certain boy could be seen sitting on a large rock inside what appeared to be some kind of cave, he was almost entirely covered in leather gear, besides his head, on which he had a pair of black nightvision goggles and a gas mask.

He seemed to be staring at the air infront of him, if someone was able to see his eyes inside the night vision goggles they would notice them swervering side to side… as if he was reading something on the air itself.

All around him, the cavernous area was covered in what looked like yellow and purple viscous slimy liquid that was splattered all over the floor and walls.

'Finally… not much time left now… just a bit more.' Alan thought to himself as he read a certain line in his status menu, his expression under the gas mask slowly changing into a wide almost unhinged grin of pure excitement.

'I hope… that this is enough… I could go all the way to fifty… but with this much, with atleast level thirty… I should be able to survive an encounter long enough that… I'll be able to atleast get back inside the dungeon. Otherwise… if the gap is truly that large… twenty more levels… won't really effect it much, and the truth is… that I'll have to leave this dungeon if I want to join the next one whenever its unlocked.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh, his excitement dampening slightly as he rose up from his seated position and gazed at the splatters of the remains of the slimes that he had killed which were quickly disintegrating into small motes of light and floating up into the air and vanishing out of existence.

'These guys… were quite annoying to fight.' Alan thought as he remembered the battles that he had done for the past few days inside of the dungeon. Just as he had suspected, every five levels, he could go and enter a different alley without it being too dangerous, and every alley either had a larger number of the same type of slimes as the alley before it, or it had a smaller quantity of slimes but a stronger more mutated version.

Chapter 66 New
A few hours earlier…

Walking out of a dark alley and back onto the main tokyo street, Alan looked around before releasing a soft sigh of pure exhaustion as he started heading down the street.

'Groups of red slimes, a minimum of five of them each time, and not all of them were hibernating… not hard… just had to be on guard constantly… damned, I really wish that I could sleep.' Alan thought to himself as he walked further down the street.

Ever since entering the system dungeon, he hadn't slept a single time and he was quite sure that it had been over twenty four hours already and yet he was still stuck in here, still fighting constantly to the point where he felt like he was some kind of low wage slave inside of a black company in a third world country.

'No… they likely sleep atleast a little bit just so they can survive… fuck… I can't complain, can't complain… I already complain a lot… god damn it, I have a reason to complain.' Alan thought to himself as he released a long tired sigh and kept walking until he finally arrived to stand before another alley.

This was the supposed… level twenty alley, or atleast he thought it was, he still wasn't sure that his information and theory about the alley's was completely correct however considering the past four alley's had followed the same logic, he assumed that It wouldn't change.

'Just a new slime… it's just a new slime that likely has different attributes and is also much more annoying to fight… can't they atleast be something…. Nope, yeah let's just always stick to slimes, I'll take slimes over zombies or dragons or whatever the fuck else.' Alan though as he entered the alley, his hand frimly gripping the spear at his side as he walked further and further into the darkness.

Just like in the other alleys, he quickly noticed that the rate of deterioration had increased multiple fold, it didn't even take more than a few meters for the entire walls to start getting cracked and have moss all over them, as if the buildings had stood there for hundreds of years already.

Walking further and further inside, the scenery changing quickly from an urban back alley into what could only be called a small passage through two broken stone walls that were utterly covered in all kinds of plants that he didn't recognise at all and had never seen in person in the real world.

'A yellow… flower?' He thought as he turned his head slightly and gazed at the yellow almost shining flower next to him, located slightly above his head on the left wall.

It looked like some kind of rose or at least a variation of it.

Alan lifted his hand slowly towards the flower before stopping as he brought his hand back down to his side.

'Yeah… that's how every dumb protagonist dies in a horror movie, it's a damn flower that's shining and I was just about to touch it. Intelligence ten my ass.' He thought before using his observation skill.

But after a nameless catastrophe, an untold time ago, something changed, something seeped into their petals and their roots, changing them. They drank in the souls of the newlyweds, binding them within them. Now, at intervals no one can predict and caused by sometimes a mere touch, the flowers tremble and release the muffled, agonized screams of those condemned to remain trapped inside them forever. ]

*Gulp*

'Aaanndd… yeah, I am not touchin the creepy flowers.' Alan thought almost instantly as soon as he read the description that the system had given them.

'Though… I wonder just what that catastrophe was? What happened that caused these flowers to mutate… is it just a vague description about them, something more like a myth, that doesn't actually mean anything or are there really any souls inside them. And the description is written as if this is a myth or a legend… and in that case, who created it? What group of people believed in these stories and myths?' He thought as he pondered and yet he couldn't come up with any kind of explanation and as such, he shook his head, clearing his thoughts once more as he tried to remain as vigilant as possible.

Turning his head forwards once more, he continued walking down the alley, the amount of flowers slowly but surely increasing every couple of meters as he went inside deeper and deeper.

And that's when he saw it, or rather he heard it before he saw it.

A shining yellow slime that was stuck on the wall further down the alley, on the right side of the wall, currently attempting to digest one of the special shining flowers inside of its stomach.

That wasn't the only thing however, it seemed the flowers were as said in the description, screaming, the muffled screaming sounds coming out of them even as they were being digested inside the slime's body were loud and shrill, and utterly impossibly horrid, it was as if a human was being tortured right before him, as if someone was taking a peeler and skinning a humans skin off, atleast that's what Alan thought, he had never once in his life heard any screams that sounded as agonising and terrifyingly horrid as the one he was currently hearing.

Raising his one free arm that wasn't holding the spear, he brought it to his ear, as he felt a small headache already forming simply from the screaming that was occurring infront of him.

Thankfully, it didn't seem to last long as the flower was fully digested by the shining yellow slime and the harrowing screams came to an end.

Chapter 67 New
'Observe' Alan thought instantly as he quickly used his skill as he gazed at the shining yellow slime that was now slowly sliding down the wall and onto the gravelly ground.

[ Observe Skill has been used! ]

[ Analysing target. ]

[ Target has been successfully analysed. ]

[ Name: Slime ( Yellow Rose Mutation ) ]

[ Health Points: Infinite ]

[ Stamina Points: Infinite ]

[ Description: A green slime that has mutated into it's current state after continuous consumption of 'Screaming Yellow Rose'. The mutation is highly unstable. ]

'An unstable mutation? What does that even mean? Like is it just going to explode randomly?' Alan thought to himself in confusion as he slowly lifted his spear higher and slowly went into position as he started walking slowly towards the shining yellow monstrosity infront of him.

Thankfully because of the neon brightness of the slime, the black glass core at it's center was clearly visible, something that he had sometimes struggled to find whilst battling the dark crimson slimes especially before he had gotten his night vision goggles.

*Fsshh*

Thrusting his spear forwards, towards the yellow slime at as much speed as he could, Alan narrowed his eyes in pure concentration, he didn't know if these slimes would have some kind of special characteristic like the crimson slimes, but he expected it atleast and this he was waiting for any surprises.

And indeed, just as he had thought, the yellow slimes did have something special about them… just like their food, the slimes themselves screamed.

"Aaaahhhhh Saveee meee!" The slime screamed, its voice disturbingly human, disturbingly harrow and agonising sounding, and more importantly at such a loud volume and high pitch that it didnt take more than a few seconds before both of Alan's ears were bleeding, however he didn't stop, he couldn't stop the spear thrust now, or he knew that it would all be over, he wouldn't be able to aim and get in a good enough position again with this screaming going on, and he would end up inside the damned things belly, that much he was sure of.

*Shatter*

With the clear sound of glass shattering, the slime lost form instantly and then screaming stopped just as abruptly as the dark alost pitch black alley returned to almost absolute silence once more.

The only sound being heard was the deep breaths that Alan was taking aswell as the small plinking sound of the blood coming out of his ears dropping down in droplets to the ground.

'Fuck… fuck.' Alan thought as his body swayed side to side before he fell onto his ass, his entire equilibrum system was gone, it had been severely damaged alongside his ears and thus he had lost his footing completley, the spear falling to the ground next to the sickly yellow goo that was slowly but surely disintegrating into yellow particles of light that floated up in the air.

'Need… to get up and get out of here.' Alan thought as panic started creeping it's head up from the depths of his mind.

Putting his hands onto the ground, he tried lifting himself up, and he managed to… for a few split seconds before vertigo hit him as he fell down onto the ground once more.

Gritting his teeth hard enough that they almost cracked, Alan felt like releasing a scream of pure rage, and yet he couldn't even do that, he couldn't risk attracting anything else to his current position, not with how he currently was.

'It damaged my equilibrium system… in the ear… fuck… and I'm not even that close to a level up.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly crawled to one side of the alley and put his back against the wall as he closed his eyes for a brief moment before taking one long deep breath, holding it in for a few moments before releasing it out once more, as slowly as he could.

The process continued for almost an entire minute as he slowly but surely managed his own panic and cleared his mind, it was one of the most important things to do, panic was even more dangerous in these kinds of situations than the wound itself sometimes was. If he made a mistake, he could potentially just bring himself an even earlier death.

It was at that moment as he fully calmed himself down, that an Idea hit him, an Idea about using something that he had almost completely forgotten even existed, it was something that the system had offered him and yet he had considered it practically useless.

But now… now, it could be the most useful thing in his entire arsenal.

Snapping his eyes open, Alan didn't hesitate even for a single second as he opened the shop.

'System shop' He thought and instantly after, a blue holographic system screen appeared right before his eyes, floating there before him on thin air.

[ System Shop ] [ Level 2 ]

[ Equipment. ]

[ Items ]

[ Potions. ]

'God damned, potions.' Alan thought as he instantly thought of opening the potion category and the system, reading his thoughts instantly responded, if not even faster than he had voiced out his own thought inside his mind.

And there it was, the only potion that he actually needed, the only one that he now realised if it worked as he thought… would be extremely useful atleast in times like these.

[ Low Quality Potion of Healing ] [ Level 2 ] [ 10 Silver Coins ] [ Buy ]

[ Description : Heals 5% of the User's total Health pool ]

'Five percent of my total healthpool, if I take my entire body as one hundred percent, then my vital spots obviously are the ones that take the most percentages, with the brain and heart taking the most percentage compared to the rest… however the equilibrium system whilst extremely useful… it isn't vital… that should mean that…' Alan thought as he lifted his hand slowly and pressed the buy button with his index finger.

A single moment later, green motes of light appeared out of the holographic screen and started gathering in his hand.

Chapter 68 New
As the green motes of light gathered in his hand, slowly converging upon one another as an object was formed.

Finally, a few seconds later after the motes of light had dissipated, the item sat on the palm of his hand, its style closely resembled a potion flask from some kind of roleplaying game, it had a slim thin tube top that expanded at the bottom to hold all the liquid.

The liquid inside was almost fully transparent with an extremely thin red sheen to it that was barely visible, although currently Alan had no way of checking the colour, he had his night vision goggles on and everything appeared in a green hue to him.

Taking the bottle with both hands, he quickly grabbed the cork that was at the top and took it out, throwing it away as he brought the potion to his mouth and quickly chucked it, swallowing as fast as he could, the liquid had appeared to be like water however it was quite a bit more viscous than it seemed, as he struggled for a moment before finally downing it all in one go.

"Haaaah…"

Alan released a long winded breath as he felt it almost instantly, the effects took place as soon as he had lowered his hand as a slow stinging sensation started at his ear and then quickly spread all over his body, scratches that he hadn't even known he had gotten were being healed at the same time as the damage to his ear was being repaired.

In a mere three seconds, the stinging pain stopped as he slowly raised himself from his seated position near the wall and shook his head lightly and yet he maintained complete balance, the vertigo was gone, his equilibrium was back.

Slowly his expression changed as a grin appeared on his face.

"Guess I was too harsh on the potions huh? Ten silver for one? That's a damn steal." Alan said to himself as he turned to face further down the alley, where he knew many more of the shining yellow slimes would be waiting for him, before he did however… he opened his system shop once more as he quickly located a pair of ear plugs and bought them for three silver and put them on.

'That's much better, though I'll lose the ability to detect the slimes from afar as well as I did previously… It's much better than having my entire equilibrium system broken, that's basically a death sentence in the middle of a fight.' Alan thought as he started walking further down the road.

That had been hours ago. After having continued his hunt of the shining slimes, he had moved on to another alley and now he was here after having defeated a combination of the shining yellow slimes and the newest variation of purple slime.

Getting up from his seated position on the rock, he slowly started moving further down the road until he finally was met with the sight of a group of two yellow slimes aswell as a singular purple slime.

Alan didn't hesitate even for a single moment as he ran directly towards the purple slime, the yellow slimes he had found out were mostly supportive types, and on their own, if someone had already dealt with the sound attack, were frankly quite useless, the mutation had given them a special ability however it had also slowed them down, to the point that without the ability they were almost easier to deal with than the green slimes.

The purple slime meanwhile… that was another deal entirely.

'Observe' Alan thought as he gazed at the purple blob a dozen meters away from him.

[ Observe Skill has been used! ]

[ Name: Amethyst Slime ]

[ Description: The Amethyst Slime, a green slime that has mutated heavily only managed to reach thirty five percent of its true evolution. It is said that they're absorption and digestion could potentially even destroy steel. ]

In comparison to the green, crimson and yellow slimes, the amethyst slime was on another level of power completely and thankfully it seemed that the system also agreed with it as he had yet to meet a single group of purple, he only every found them in groups of one with other colours surrounding them, almost as if it was acting in a leader position.

'Thirty five percent of its true evolution… does that mean that by the end… I'll be fighting… a perfectly evolved slime? Food for later thoughts.' Alan thought as he jumped over the yellow slime that had gotten infront of him before doing a complete frontflip in the air and gathering as much force as he could and slamming the steel spear straight towards the purple slime's midsection.

*Claangg!*

A loud clanging sound rang, as if steel with steel were hitting together and for a moment the spear stopped completely, it seemed that it would be unable to slice through the slime's gelatinous body, atleast for a moment.

In the very next second, bubbles started appearing where the spear had hit as the viscous gelatine like substance that the slime was made of parted and the spear was able to push through it until it met with the glass core at the center of its body, and just like any of the other slimes, without any real force, it shattered in an instant.

*Shatter*

With the loud cracking sound, the Amethyst slime lost its form completely as it started disintegrating into purple motes of light.

Turning his head towards the two remaining yellow slimes, Alan didn't hesitate for a single second as he brought out two small steel daggers and threw them, both of them somehow hitting their targets perfectly and shattering both of their cores at the same time.

'I don't need perception… If i just get lucky.' Alan thought as a smile slowly appeared on his face.

Chapter 69 New
Releasing a slow breath, Alan walked closer to the wall and slid against it until he was sitting back down as he opened his status menu, the holographic screen appearing before him as it floated there in the air.

'Not bad… thought im curious… when I reached a certain level… the experience points needed for the levels after it stopped increasing? Is there a reason to it? I mean… It's not like im complaining… it's just… weird.' Alan thought to himself curiously as he looked over at his level, he had already decided that he would leave after reaching level thirty, whilst his status screen hadn't changed much, or atleast it looked like it hadn't… if he had to guess, he could defeat atleast five of his past selves at the same time if he fought them currently.

'The increase in strength… it's a lot more sizeable than I thought it would be, maybe because my other stats like intelligence and Charisma and Luck are stats that I don't really notice, but the strength… its quantifiable, and so is the perception and endurance aswell as agility.' Alan thought as he remembered to his will, something that he related to endurance, at first he had thought that endurance simply made him more durable and whilst it did indeed seem to do that, that wasn't what he was using it mostly for.

'The will to endure, its not just durability, its the endurance of the mind to keep pushing forwards… I'm not sure, I would have been able to keep on going if I was still the old me before the system.' He thought before releasing a sigh as he looked at the two stats he had upgraded.

Because he had stopped using the glasses and was instead in need of night vision goggles, he had felt the drastic drop to perception and thus had decided that an increase to atleast four perception would be better off than an increase to six strength atleast for the moment.

'Still, getting my strength to match my endurance and agility is still the priority. When that happens… I'll truly have a balanced body, that should let me bring out the most efficiency out of each stat, I can already notice it, how much better my speed and agility is working simply by raising strength.' He thought to himself before he turned and continued walking down the alley, he was close now, it wouldn't be long before he managed to finish his task of leveling up, he needed less than ten of the purple slimes and he would be able to reach the next level and then ten more after that would guarantee him the level thirty that he was after.

'Thankfully, I found out their weakness… though it did take me a while to, salt, just as i had theoriesed when i first entered this damned dungeon, the slimes have some qualities that are similar to slugs, salt dehidrates their body really quickly, it doesn't work at all on the viscous crimson slimes however and the efficiency against yellow ones is just average, but when used on the amethyst slime, it seems to be much more effective than normal, maybe because they're faster, they're more… liquidy in a way?' Alan thought as he scratched the back of his head with his hand before finally noticing another group of slimes in the distance.

A few minutes later, and a dozen slimes after.

Opening his status menu, and expecting to simply put his normal points in, Alan's eyes widened as he saw… he wasn't sure what it even was but he could guess.

[ Status Menu ]

[ Name: Alan Walker ]

[ Age: 18 ]

[ Race: Human 88% / Elf 12% ]

[ Gender: Male ]

[ Level 29 ] [ Experience Points: 0 / 2.5 Million. ] [ Evolution ] [ Yes / No ]

Right next to his level, a new line of text had appeared on the blue holographic screen, the words were simple, did he want to evolve or did he not want to evolve.

When he pressed Yes, the experience required shot up from five hundred thousand all the way to two and a half million experience points required. He could similarly chose no, and the experience required would lower back down.

'Is… just what would evolution do to me? I get what it is, and that I'll likely… become something that's even less of a human most likely but the main question is whether it will have any side effects to my daily life.' Alan thought as he rubbed the back of his head and released a sigh, the choice was infront of him however he wasn't sure wether he should do it now or wether he should wait until later on.

'I could… save it? I mean… I could gather the experience points and then simply not get the last part of the experience needed and wait for this entire mess that I'm in to just pass first. But then again… I need as much strength as I can get before fighting that bastard.' Alan thought as he came to a conundrum.

He had already changed once, physically and visually, the change was small but he was sure that his facial features had changed slightly and the most noticeable change that he currently possessed was the tipped ears on the sides of his head.

Chapter 70 New
'What if they grown longer and even more tipped, or my hair becomes blonde like in those elf movies or my eyes change colour, how am I going to explain that to other people. Would I just have to leave Forks instantly?'

Shaking his head slightly, Alan released a deep long sigh before he pressed the yes button and got up, it wasn't worth thinking about it at the moment, what would it matter, why would any of those things even matter if he ended up dying before that time even came, it wouldn't matter at all if he was just some possessed doll.

'I'm thinking about what I should do as if I'm not already in a fucked position. What I should do now, is simple… kill that fucking bastard or escape and never let 'it' find me again.' Alan thought finally as his expression under the gas mask and night vision goggles changed to an expression that could only be called pure hatred for the man, or thing that he had seen possess his friends.

'Don't worry guys… I'm coming back to help you guys. Just wait a bit longer.'

With that, Alan started walking deeper into the Alley once more, his figure vanishing into the darkness as he walked further and further away, into the depths of the tokyo alley that had practically transformed into a luscious cave.

Minutes turned into hours, as the sky started brightening up once more on a saturday morning in Forks.

No one had seen Alan in almost three entire days at this point. Not his classmates, not his neighbours and not the Cullen's either.

Alice was stuck inside the Cullen mansion, with Esme Cullen being on constant watch of her, whilst the rest of the vampire coven had gone out periodically to search however none of them had found a single clue as to where the boy could be.

It was as if he had vanished into thin air out of the blue, no one had seen him leave and no one had seen him come back either.

At one point, Carlisle had almost decided to head to the border with the Quileute tribe and ask them for help in searching however he had decided against it, the Quileute still had a deep hatred for the Cullens and their kind, they would most likely be mocked and if Alan did ever come back, he could become a target to the tribe's younger members simply because they would want to get back at the Cullens. Carlisle had seen how the hatred had been passed down to the next generation of the tribe, generation after generation and he knew that the younger generation likely didn't have the same restraint or maturity yet as the rest of them.

It was at that moment, at exactly five am in the morning, that the air before Alan's apartment shimmered and in the very next instant… someone was there, as if they had teleported, one moment there was no one there and the next, they were there.

The person was clearly a man, with short black healthy hair that almost seemed to shine, skin that was utterly pale and yet it didn't seem sickly or like a corpse, it looked healthy, with a face that seemed to be carved out of marble and crafted by a master sculptor. Their ears were different aswell, with them beig thinner and slightly longer than human ears, the upper end of them sharp instead of the rounded ears that humans had.

And as they opened their eyes, They were a mix of colours, the iris was undoubtedly brown around the pupil however the edges of it had clear flakes of green that made them seem in a way mystical in nature.

Taking a long drawn out breath slowly and then releasing it just as slow, the man… Alan Walker, finally lifted his head fully and gazed at his apartment window from the street bellow where he was standing.

He was alive, and he was finally back… just not exactly the same person, but the soul inside, that was undoubtedly the same.

'It feels good… really good.' Alan thought to himself as his lips slowly curled up just slightly at the ends, giving him what appeared to be a gentle almost serene like expression, a complete difference to his pure hatred and anger merely hours ago and yet if one were to look inside of him… the emotions hadn't changed at all, neither had his thoughts, it was simply that the way those thoughts and emotions were being conveyed to the outside world had changed in a drastic manner.

As soon as his gaze had gone to his window, Alan felt it, someone was there, the image that he could see through his window, it looked… wrong, it looked just slightly wrong, it wasn't something that he would have noticed before, or if he hadn't been on guard however because of his recent changes and the fact that he was currently as alert as he could be.

He did notice it. It was as if the air was shimmering slightly just slightly around the image inside.

'He's at my apartment, or he left some kind of trap. Either one of those.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly started walking and entered inside the apartment building before looking up the stairs.

In the very next instant, his entire body was coated in small motes of light that seemed to come out of thin air and the motes slowly gathered together in clumps over his frame and out of them, brown leather plates formed one by one until his entire body was covered in leather armor from head to his toes, and then the motes of light gathered around his face, forming a black gas mask that completley covered the lower half of his face and his nose.

Finally, Alan lifted his right arm into the air and opened his palm and in an instant, the motes of light gathered once more and this time formed a long broadsword.

'This should work better in a tighter space like this.' Alan thought to himself before he started walking up the stairs, one step after the other.

Chapter 71 New
Slowly walking up the stairs, one step at a time, Alan had his guard up the entire way, his eyes were fixed onto the the top of the staircase all time time as he rose up the stories until he finally arrived at his floor.

And there it was, at the end of the hallway, his own run down apartment room, merely a few feet away from him.

'Alright… let's just… do this.' Alan thought to himself as he walked forwards and took out his key before unlocking the door.

*Jiggle* *Clank*

With a sound, the door to his apartment unlocked as he slowly pushed it open.

*Eeiiiinz*

The old wooden door made a sound that was heard loudly in the silence of the hallway as it slowly was pushed open further and further, revealing the sight inside.

The first thing that caught Alan's eyes… was the utter ruin of his room, his bed looked like it had been smashed to pieces, the walls were covered… in liquid that he didn't want to think about and there… sitting at his desk was the man he had seen for just a brief second days before, right when he had been teleporting to the dungeon.

"Yo, been a while Alan." The man said with a smile, his voice soft and easy going as he raised one of his hands in a mock salute. One of his legs was over the other as he was laid back in Alan's desk chair, leaning back, utterly at ease.

Alan however, wasn't looking at him, his gaze was stuck onto a different sight, on something else that had filled the entire room, on a smell that had hit him as soon as he had opened the door.

Laid down onto the floor of his apartment were three bodies, bodies of people he knew, of people he had talked to, been friends with just a few days ago.

The three bodies were… a far sight from who he had known, the cheeks had sunken in, the eyes looked clouded, there were slight greenish patches on their skin, their stomachs were slightly bloated because of the build up of gases inside of their bodies. And dozens of flies were around their mouth, nose and eyes, where they had already laid their eggs inside.

For a brief moment, Alan felt like he wanted to vomit, to vomit out everything inside of his stomach.

The sight was gruesome, seeing his three friends, Jeannie, the girl who had obviously liked him, who had tried to make conversation with him and who had tried to be as welcoming as she could, Adrian and John who had accepted to help him when he had needed it most, on the very day that he had gotten the damned system even if they hadn't known it. All three of them were now dead, they were just corpses, meat that was rotting on the floor of his apartment. And he could do nothing about it.

"I see… I was too late." Alan muttered softly, the first words that had left his mouth since he had opened the apartment door.

He took a few steps inside as he kept his gaze onto the dead bodies before slowly, he lifted his head higher and higher until he was looking directly into the man's vivid blue eyes with his own.

"I believe I deserve to atleast know your name don't I?" Alan asked softly, as if he was talking with someone he had just met at the mall, not someone that was currently in his apartment, having clearly killed all three of his friends and left them to rot.

"Ah, you're right ofcourse, where are my manner. My apologies, my name is… well the current one that I use is Johan. It's a pleasure to meet you Alan Walker." The man, Johan, said as the corners of his lips started twitching, it was clear that the man found the sight amusing, that he was barely holding himself back from erupting into laughter.

Alan didn't respond, he simply looked at him, his eyes not twitching even once, utterly still for a few moments before his mouth finally opened.

"Tell me, Johan…. Why are you so overconfident?" Alan asked, his voice steady, however his eyes that had been steady until now, weren't looking directly at the man anymore, they were looking at something that was floating right next to the man's head, something that only he could see.

[ Observation Skill has been used! ]

[ Analysis is beginning on target! ]

[ Analysis Complete! ]

[ Name: Johan? ]

[ Race: Enhanced Human ]

[ Age: 23 ]

[ Gender: Female. ]

[ Level: 44 ]

'Level… fourty four, he's above me… but practically none of his detail are actually hidden.' Alan thought to himself as he released a hum whilst he waited for the reply.

"Well… I wouldn't say that I'm overconfident, I'm just… confident in my own abilities. And… do I really need to be on guard? You've got some pretty interesting abilities Alan, I've always wanted to know more about this world, there's so many things that I do not know, and you, you're a mystery to me still. A mystery… that I would be glad to get to… investigate further." Johan said with a small soft chuckle and he or rather she rose up to her feet.

'The gender clearly says that she's a woman… but she looks like a man… did she posses the current body that she's using? A sort of more complete possession where she actually is using it as her own body instead of a doll like she did with the… with those three.' Alan thought as he slowly walked past the three bodies and arrived before Johan.

And in the next instant, without a single drop of hesitation, the broadsword parted the air as Alan swung it with full force directly towards Johan, there hadn't been a single instant where he had hesitated or shown any kind of indication that he would be attacking.

Here's the first chapter of the day.

Chapter 72 New
The sword gleamed as it sclied through the air directly towards Johan's throat, and for a moment, it seemed like it would hit, that is until the very next second when she simply took a single step back and avoided the sword's path by a hair.

"Woah, calm down, there's no need for us to be attacking eachother now is there?" Johan asked with a smile as she raised her hands up, her palms facing him as her mouth that had been twitching until now, finally curled up into a smile.

"No reason? Do you want me to name them?" Alan asked curiously as he tilted his head, he was calm, atleast on the surface, however his heart? It felt like it was going to beat out of his own chest, he was almost sure that the thing before him could hear it from how loudly it was beating.

"Ah… are you angry because I… well did that to those things?" Johan asked with that same smile as her eyes moved past Alan and towards the dead rotting bodies on the floor.

"Maybe? Just slightly. So Johan… magic huh? You wouldn't mind telling me more about it would you?" Alan said as he jumped backwards and created more distance in between them.

"Ah, but ofcourse, If you tell me your dear secrets, I'll also help you learn more about my own, isn't that only fair Alan?" Johan said as she tilted her head and started walking closer to him, intending to close the distance that he had just created.

"Sure… so, I've got a certain friend Johan, I think… she would rather like to meet you. What do you say that we go and meet up with her, that way… I'll feel safer and we can exchange secrets… to your hearts desire." Alan said as he kept his sword up and took a single step back with one foot and positioned the other on the front, entering a half stance, clearly ready to either fight or run at any time.

'Just… If i could get Alice or any of the cullens… this won't be much of a problem, they're much higher level than this thing…' Alan thought to himself however those thoughts were unfortunately interrupted almost instantly by the next words that left Johan's mouth.

"Oh… are you talking about that Vampire girl? Short hair, short body, amber eyes?" Johan asked amusedly as she stopped walking, remaining barely three feet away from Alan.

'Vampire? So that's what Alice is… isn't… that just as bad? Fuck, Fuckkk. Haah… atleast… it's a good idea that I didn't call her and hesitated, last thing I need to deal with right now is a damned blood sucking monster on top of this thing before me.' Alan thought as he released an inward sigh inside his mind before his eyes went up slightly to look directly into those electric blue eyes.

"Yeah, but… I think you wouldn't allow that would you? Afterall… you're weaker." Alan said slowly, his voice calm and steady even as inwardly he was in a complete crisis mode.

"Mhm… how interesting… you don't even know what I am exactly and yet you said that with utter confidence, that could either mean that you are arrogant and frankly a dumbass… or that you have some kind of way to evaluate my strength, and because of that teleportation… I'm rather inclined to believe that it's the latter." Johan said as her smile widened further and further until it slowly started to look more unhinged than normal.

It was at that very moment that something else occurred, Alan who had been standing next to John's corpse on the ground… felt something grab his ankle.

Looking down, his eyes slowly widening, Alan saw it, John… or rather the corpse that remained of what John once had been, was grasping his ankle, those white creamy foggy eyes looking directly at him.

"Ah… you really are a piece of shit miss Johan." Alan said as he cursed under his breath.

Johan who had been standing calmly with that now unhinged smile froze for a moment as she brought her hand to her chin.

"And you also know that I'm actually female… how interesting… you will surely be a great subject Alan, we will have soo… much fun together. It will be quite… pleasurable… for me that is." Johan muttered as in an instant, she raised her hand her palm facing Alan.

To the real world, it seemed like she was doing nothing, there was nothing there but empty air in front of her hand.

However to Alan who had his mana perception activated ever since he had entered inside the room, the sight was clear as day, the sickly yellow and greenish aura that was all over Johans body was gathering and forming some kind of black ball at the center of her palm.

In the next instant, he felt John grip his other ankle as well whilst the ball in the center of Johan's palm cracked open slowly and revealed what looked like an illusionary snake that was floating in the air.

'I don't know what the hell that is… but it's bad. Really fucking bad.' Alan thought as he moved his sight from the palm to the corpse currently holding his ankles.

"I wonder Alan… will you be able to attack knowing that… he's your friend?" Johan asked curiously as she raised an eyebrow at Alan.

"Friend? Yeah… he… no, It was my friend, but my friend… is gone." Alan muttered as he steel broadsword cut through the air before slicing clean through the rotting hands that were holding him, separating the hands from the arms as he jumped back and the brought his other hand to his waist where he had tied a small brown ball that he took out and in an instant slammed towards Johan.

Johan didn't hesitate as she dodged, however the ball hadn't been an attack, as soon as it hit the wall behind Johan, it exploded and covered the entire room in thick grey smoke.
