The Holy Chronicles of Baator

Chapter 661 – The Scenario Repeating Itself New
"It was a long time since I lost for the last time..."

She panted heavily, spitting a mouthful of blood several times, until she got much better after resting for several moments.

Certainly, there was a strong sense of shock and disbelief in her eyes when she looked at me because it was evident that she wasn't used to losing.

Most probably in her entire life, the only people she lost against were the older and more powerful members of the Tribe when she was younger; thus, she never really had any powerful competitors.

This was also the case for my children; when they were born, there was almost zero competition for them because, aside from their own siblings, there were none of their age who could represent some sort of rivals for them.

"It was a good fight, though... You are certainly powerful enough, and your control over the Ice is top-notch; unfortunately for me, you lack the experience and power to defeat me properly..."

I was speaking the truth when I told her that she was very powerful; her combat instincts and talents were something that would be considered as a top-notch generational genius even within the Chthonian Empire.

She was natural in the close quarters combat and weapon mastery, to the degree where she was already approaching that of Hela or Sigmar. She was natural at the combat, her adaptability was staggering, and she could fight almost like the God of War had incarnated.

"Are you feeling better?"

I asked after several minutes, noticing that she was already getting better... the healing rate of the Partas Tribesmen was very high, much higher than that of the ordinary baseline humans from what I could see.

It should have something to do with the Bloodline of the Danger Beasts that they were ingesting and assimilating to obtain their strength.

Danger Beasts of the Fenran Rex IX. had terrifying healing and regenerative factors; it was something that couldn't be matched even by many in the Higher Dimensional World of the Baator.

"Not by much, but I will be..."

I helped her to stand up from the previous position, as she kept lying on her back for some time. Evidently, she was more tired from the duel than I had anticipated, though my strikes on her ribs and stomach, while powerful, were not enough to cause her serious injuries.

That was something that I was rather cautious about, as I didn't wish to cause her any severe injuries in this duel. Still, with the rate at which she was being healed by her regenerative factor, she would be in top condition in mere moments.

"You are pretty powerful, contrary to your stature and scholarly appearance..."

I didn't really know if this was a compliment or if it was an insult, though I would consider it as both of them together.

For her, I must indeed seem like a scholar, not to mention that I even presented as a scientist for most of the time, and in the culture of warriors and hunters like the Partas Tribe, I lacked the typical ruffed appearance of a warrior that was characteristic of them.

Certainly, I didn't really look like a stereotypical warrior and powerhouse in the eyes of the Partas Tribe, even though, for those who were more powerful and had a more developed sense, could rather easily sense my power, at least part of it, if they put enough effort into it.

Honestly, I would prefer looking elegant rather than like a ruffed barbarian, like most of the Partas Tribesmen.

"I don't know if I should take it as a compliment or offense so that I will be taking it as both, General Partas. Maybe we can have another duel in the future when you get better at your skills, so your defeat won't be such an embarrassment."

Hearing what I said to her, I noticed that her grin cracked a little, but she instantly looked at me with a great degree of anticipation and excitement when I basically confirmed that we would be having another spar together.

"It was meant to be both in the first place... certainly, having elegance and extraordinary power at the same time is... especially appealing."

Oh... my... gods...

Even though my true body is God, I knew very well what this meant: this exact smile and grin, this exact look, was the same look that Hela was giving me after suffering the first defeat.

Hela essentially developed strong feelings of possession and something that seemed to be love, or her own twisted version, after I first defeated her. Though that twistedness was something greatly enjoyable in the bedroom, and living room... and any other place when it came to that.

It was clear that her pride wouldn't allow her to attach herself to someone who was weaker than herself. She was the type who would only take a mate who was much stronger than herself, someone who could beat her in a single combat.

Evidently, the Heiress of the Partas Tribe, Esdeath Partas, developed some sort of crush on me, and it meant that my stay here wouldn't be so peaceful as I had anticipated previously.

This was already highly problematic because dealing with another Hela was going to be a pain in the ass, something that I wasn't very keen on that. However, I had to admit that Esdeath Partas was a rather attractive, like, very, very attractive young woman.

She was very powerful, that was for sure, and she had certainly inherited a set of unique and particular abilities, creating a rather powerful Bloodline. Even though her Ice Manipulating Abilities were nothing compared to Fia's, it was rather exceptional for the conditions she was born in.

If she were properly developed, she could become a powerhouse on her own, not to mention, I had some feeling that if she obtained a greater and stronger connection to the Warp itself, then her power would grow several times over.

She was rather constrained by her lack of a powerful connection to the Warp because the members of the Partas Tribe were rather peculiar breeds of the Psykers.

Only a tiny population of them were geniue Psykers, while the rest of them obtained their Psyker Abilities from ingesting and assimilating the Bloodlines of the Danger Beasts.

Chapter 662 – Frozen Coven Under Siege (1) New
Several Days Later, after my spar with Esdeath Partas, we were already in the process of complete mobilization of the Partas Tribe's elite forces and creating the attack strategies on the Frozen Coven.

The attack on the Frozen Coven was, in the end, unanimously approved by the Elder of the Partas Tribe because the benefits of conquering the Frozen Coven were tremendous and would be a great leap for the Partas Tribe.

Especially regarding their Psyker Heritage, which was something that the Partas Tribe had long ago coveted, but they couldn't really obtain it. Attacking the Frozen Coven would be a very arduous task, and when I saw the plans and the information about the strengths and weaknesses of the Frozen Coven, I understood the reason.

It was far more problematic than it seemed.

The protections around the headquarters of the were something to behold, because they were probably the most powerful Psyker protections on the entire Fenran Rex IX., so breaking through them would be very hard.

Not to mention, the Sorcerers of the Frozen Coven were smart enough to build their main headquarters in a place where the line between Materium and Immaterium was thinnest, meaning the Psykers in that place were more powerful than usual.

This resulted in a state where the Psykers could exert far more of their power than usual; something like that wasn't normally possible. Immaterium and Realspace were not compatible with each other; only when there was a breach in the Realspace could the Immaterium exert far more of its power.

This was pretty disadvantageous for anyone who would attempt to attack the Frozen Coven, because the Psykers were tremendously empowered by the presence of the breach in the Immaterium.

As long as they could control the breach and overlapping Immaterium with the Realspace and stop the constant attempts of the Powers of the Ruin to invade the Realspace, the Frozen Coven obtained a great power base for themselves.

Unfortunately for them, there was something that could deal with the situation rather easily...

"We can attack and conquer the Frozen Coven rather easily as long as we manufacture some of these things..."

I said and launched the holo-projection of the Dawn Pillars that were widely used in the Kadath Universe to suppress anything related to the supernatural, concepts of any kind of energy, or something like that.

We perfected the usage and technology of the Dawn Pillars to the utter extreme, and we could manufacture them very fast.

Unfortunately, with the limited technology of the Partas Tribe, I needed to make some tweaks to it, but that wasn't that hard as I had an auxiliary A.I. Chip of Architect and my very own computing capabilities.

Nevertheless, it took me a few days to create the Dawn Pillars that functioned like the Cadian Blackstone Pylons.

A Cadian Pylon System was a complex of several thousand massive pylon-shaped devices composed of Blackstone and of unknown Xenos origin, erected millions of standard years ago in a complex network stretching across the surface of the Fortress World of Cadia.

"This little darling here is the Dawn Pillar, a specifically crafted device with the sole purpose of suppressing everything even remotely related to the Immaterium. Once activated, we can turn to weaken the Psykers of the Frozen Coven to the extremes, though, unfortunately, because of the breach in the Realspace, it won't be enough for us to make all Psykers just ordinary people."

I was discussing with Esdeath the possible strategy for the attack on the Frozen Coven; this was just a preliminary discussion, before we would present it to the Elder of the Partas Tribe.

"Interesting gadget. Would we be able to construct them within our capabilities?"

Even though I knew that Esdeath wasn't the most technologically apt person, because she believed in her personal might and power, she thought that overusing technology led to weakness and disgrace.

"Not just gadgets, but devices that would win us this conflict without any effort, in fact. And yes, we can manufacture with the STCs present within the Partas Tribe and some of my own input... we will place the Dawn Pillars around the headquarters of the Frozen Coven and activate them, rendering all of their Psychic potential useless, and, at the same time, all of their protections would be basically a piece of scrap. Just a few salvos from the artillery would be enough to break through all of the barriers."

The Dawn Pillars were absolutely needed for the conquest of the Frozen Coven because attacking them in a more convenient way would cost a lot of resources. Breaking through their defenses in a more standard way would require tremendous firepower and even manpower.

"Right now, with the capabilities of the Partas Tribe and the STCs that the Partas Tribe has in their possession, they could probably manufacture five of them with their technological capabilities. With me controlling the STCs and patching them together, we can increase the production output to somewhere around twelve to fourteen before we commence the attack on the Frozen Coven."

The Elders of the Partas Tribe decided that they would attack the Frozen Coven in five months or so, so before that, we needed to finish all preparations and prepare all things that were needed for the attack.

All Dawn Pillars needed to be manufactured and ready for usage.

"Hmm... if that works as supposed, we can probably achieve victory without investing a lot of resources. Psychic Powers are the basics of the Frozen Coven; they are their strongest and most powerful side. If they are taken out of the equation, then they are not really that powerful."

Frozen Coven, without their Sorcerers and Psykers, were actually not really powerful, and their numbers were actually much smaller than even the Partas Tribe itself. They were able to maintain their status and so-called neutrality only due to their possession of tremendoiíus Psyker Powers.

"Now the sole thing that is needed is to formulate the plan of attack using the Dawn Pillars usage as the core of the strategy."

Chapter 663 – Frozen Coven Under Siege (2) New
After everything was decided, mainly the most basic outlines of the battle plan on the Frozen Coven, I went to the task of crafting the Dawn Pillars, or at least some version of it, because, with the current things on hand, it would be impossible to recreate the pinnacle of the Arkanotek Engineering on the Fenran Rex IX.

Certainly, it took some tweaks here and there, but sooner enough, with the calculating capabilities of the Architect and my own, it didn't take long to create a functioning prototype that should be able to nullify any Psyker Abilities in some areas entirely.

Not only this, but to successfully manufacture the Pylons that we would need, I also needed to increase the technological capabilities of the Partas Tribe and tweak their production capabilities a bit, because otherwise, they wouldn't be able to manufacture everything that I needed to have.

Crafting something so complex as the Pylons that were capable of nullifying Psyker Abilities and severing the connection between the Immaterium and Realspace was something that was a bit above the current capabilities of the technology of the Partas Tribe.

Still, after we gave them the necessary upgrades, they were able to manufacture the parts needed for the Pylons, and slowly, everything was coming together. Just two months after the initial discussion, we already had all the necessary Pylons constructed with a progression of 56%.

It was even faster than I had anticipated, but it seemed that I had seriously underestimated the anticipation of the Partas Tribe in this endeavor.

The hatred towards the Frozen Coven was high, not to mention the Frozen Coven was often compared to the Partas Tribe, and they were something akin to pseudo-contestants for the title of the strongest faction within the Northern Area of the Feris Continent.

Northern Tribes were not really taken into the equation, because they were individually rather weak and their sole strong side was the fact that they had numbers on their side, but aside from that, the number of true powerhouses under their command was low.

During the upcoming months, aside from overseeing the creation of the Dawn Pillars, I was also participating in drafting the plans of attack. My experiences of waging wars and conquering hostile factions were worth several thousand years.

In the end, everything went even more smoothly than I had initially predicted, and the Dawn Pillars were finished faster than anticipated. When everything was ready, Patriarch Ezran Partas gave the overall command of the operation to his daughter, Esdeath.

As the Heiress of the Partas Tribe and overall General of Armies of the Partas Tribe, there was no one who was more suitable to command the operation against the Frozen Coven, which was leading us here.

Where we were right now.

In front of the headquarters of the Frozen Coven, as we were laying siege on their fortress with the Dawn Pillars being placed all around the headquarters of the Frozen Coven. It was clear that the Sorcerers of the Frozen Coven were rather nervous about the incoming invasion of their territories.

Obviously, they were not really aware of the true purpose of the Dawn Pillars as they were not activated, but they were smart enough to realize that something was going on when they saw the troops of the Partas Tribe placing the enormous monoliths all around the fortress of the Frozen Coven.

All of the efforts of the Frozen Coven to thwart the efforts of the Partas Tribe ended in catastrophic failure because the Partas Tribe were experts when it came to combating and hunting down the Psykers or anyone using the Psyker powers.

"We are ready; the clean-up operation has been finished."

As I was doing the final checkups on the Dawn Pillars and ensuring that everything would work as it should be, I was interrupted by Esdeath, who was standing behind me in her usual general military uniform, as everyone stopped doing what they were doing and gave her a salute, before the people returned to their previous jobs.

Most of the people in the room where we were right now were engineers and scientists of the Partas Tribe, many of whom I taught personally during my stay in the Partas Tribe, as I was essentially cultivating a new generation of engineers and scientists.

Something that the Partas Tribe was rather lacking, or more precisely, it wasn't their strongest side, as they were a Tribe of Hunters and Warriors foremost.

Everything else was secondary for them.

I even learned that they had started dabbling into the aspect of technology more and more, just during the time when the Ezran Partas became the Patriarch of the Partas Tribe, when he saw the true power of the technologically advanced faction when he was in the Southern Area of the Feris Continent.

"Okey, just give me a few moments after we finish the last test, we need to ensure that everything will work as it should."

In the long history of the Chthonian Empire of the Baator, there were some events when our efforts were thwarted or failed due to the functioning tech. Because of that, we had protocols requiring that all weapons and special equipment, like the Dawn Pillars, be checked several times before the battle began.

"Are you going to fight?"

During the time I was staying in the Partas Tribe, we grew rather close together; in fact, we had a lot in common, and we were spending a lot of time together. It often started with Esdeath pestering me to fight against her because she didn't really win against me even once during that time.

In all of our spars, she lost something more badly than the other time.

Still, for a battle maniac like her who only respected the strong, it was only understandable that her interest in me grew to the point where she started making advances on me and viewed me as a potential suitor.

Not like I was against it.

She was rather a nice person behind the exterior of a fierce warrior and battle maniac who only knew how to kill people.

Yeah, it sounded rather weird, but that was how things were.

Even Hela was actually rather a pleasant person to be around for those who were actually given the privilege.

As they said, never judge a book by its cover.

Chapter 664 – Strongest Tribe of Feris Continent New
Of course, that was only after one managed to get past her bloodthirsty and battle-hungry nature, which was certainly most prevalent.

"Maybe if I found something interesting, but once these Psykers lose access to the Immaterium, they would be ripe for picking up."

In fact, I didn't really have much interest in the fight because the moment when the Dawn Pillars were activated, then all of the Psykers would be mostly powerless. If they didn't train their physique and were in close-quarter combat, then they would be just chickens ripe for killing.

Not to mention, I wasn't even able to sense someone particularly strong that would essentially pique my interest in the fight. Aside from tinkering with the technology, I would most probably leave the fight to the Partas Tribe.

The Frozen Coven was almost exclusively made from the Psyker, Sorcerers, and other users of the Warp. If this was taken out of the equation, then they would be mostly powerless, armed with only a few scraps of technology that they had and nothing else.

"Ts... I understand that sentiment... Frozen Coven is made exclusively from the Sorcerers; with your gadgets activated, they would not be any threat. Aside from breaching some of the physical obstacles in our path, that is..."

I nodded to what Esdeath said, and during our time, I finished all the checkups on the machinery; I then activated the Dawn Pillars. Soon enough, all tremendously large monoliths started glowing with an ominous green color and covering the entire region where the headquarters of the Frozen Coven was located.

"The Dawn Pillars have been activated; after approximately forty seconds, they will be fully activated, and everything will be turned into an Anti-Psyker Zone."

Because the Partas Tribe wanted to obtain the complete legacy of the Frozen Coven, they couldn't use the heavy artillery or anything very destructive in case something fell onto the library and turned everything into ash.

That would certainly be problematic.

However, the Frozen Coven was reduced to nothingness as their Psyker powers were their strongest and, most probably, only sole card. Esdeath was confident that their soldiers could overcome the resistance from the Frozen Coven with some effort.

She didn't really take the Frozen Coven seriously without their Psyker Powers, and I understood the sentiment because I saw this scenario several times in the Kadath Universe.

The Chthonian Empire of the Baator annihilated countless factions that were very dependent on some type of Energy with the usage of the Pylons.

And as we talked, the greenish dome appeared around the entire region, and unbeknownst to the armies of the Partas Tribe that were getting into the formation and preparing to attack, the Sorcerers within the high walls of the Frozen Coven were panicking.

Panic was a weak word for the state that was happening right now within the Frozen Coven.

The Dawn Pillars were really too effective, and everything even remotely connected to the Immaterium was immediately severed, and all Psykers of the Frozen Coven not only found themselves without connection to the Immaterium, but they were also suffering very heavy backlash from the sudden loss of connection to the Immaterium.

The more powerful the Sorcerer was, the heavier and more severe the side effects of the sudden cut of the connection were, as some of them were even crippled on the spot if they couldn't handle the backlash.

Some of them fell unconscious the moment they lost their connection to the Warp, and this happened all over the headquarters of the Frozen Coven. It didn't help the situation; the fact that all of the higher-ups Psykers, especially the military leaders of the Frozen Coven, were all exclusively Psykers.

One could say that this one move managed to incapacitate all of the higher-ups of the Frozen Coven. In their current state, they were not even capable of putting up any resistance, as their entire chain of command was destroyed.

This was the case for many factions that were heavily magic-oriented or so, where all of their leadership and higher-ups were exclusively mages. And when the magic was taken out of the equation, the entire faction was like a headless chicken, which was the exact same scenario that was right now happening to the Frozen Coven.

It was also a perfect opportunity for the armies of the Partas Tribe because the soldiers and hunters had already started approaching the gates of the fortress in orderly formation, facing something that could be called minimal resistance.

That's another good point for them right now.

I must admit that it was also entertaining to watch, the chaos that erupted within the headquarters of the Frozen Coven when the Dawn Pillars were activating and the unstoppable march of the Partas Tribe that was already in front of their gates, planting some explosives there to destroy the gate.

In the end, unfortunately for the Frozen Coven, I could tell that approximately 80% of their defenses were basically related to the Immaterium, and only something around 20% of their defenses were in a pure technological manner.

With the Dawn Pillars in the play, one could say that the Frozen Coven was almost defenseless against the advance of the Partas Tribe. I also marveled at their bad luck because it seemed that even a large part of their soldiery was affected by the Dawn Pillars.

Even their ordinary soldiers were dabbling in the Psykery...

Fortunately enough, we manufactured small badges that were able to protect the members of the Partas Tribe from the side effects of the Dawn Pillars being activated.

Even though the Partas Tribesmen won't be able to use their Psyker Powers, due to their lineages of the Danger Beasts and the badges that I had them wear, they were facing just some minor uncomfortable feelings...

Thus, they were able to retain the majority of their strength even under the suppression of the Dawn Pillars on everything related to the Immaterium, and right now, the first groups of soldiers and hunters were able to breach the gates of the Frozen Coven and unleashed slaughter on the inhabitants.

Chapter 665 – Frozen Coven No More New
The negative emotions that were created by the merciless slaughter of the entire Frozen Coven would forever capture the attention of the Daemons of the Immaterium. I was sure that if now for the actual Dawn Pillars, there would be a ton of them attempting to descend down to the real space and create havoc.

The environment that was created by such a wide massacre was perhaps enough to attract the attention of some of the greatest Daemons within the Immaterium, as hundreds of thousands of people were dying every second.

Not only that, but all people that were dying here were Psyker, darlings of the Immaterium and favorite prey of the Daemons of the Warp, who preyed on them like a wolf on deer.

"They are indeed efficient when it comes to committing a genocide... what an interesting twist..."

I had to admit that the Partas Tribe was very efficient in the cold and ruthless approach of genociding the members of the Frozen Coven. Practically anyone who was older than a certain age, mostly older than three years or so, was put to the sword and killed.

It was a terrible massacre and rather bloody because they were executed in an old-fashioned way using cold weapons. Such mass executions always created a lot of mess, something that was rather rare within the Chthonian Empire of the Baator.

Due to the presence of the Dawn Pillars and their effects, none of the Frozen Coven were able to give any kind of organized resistance. Their armed forces were broken apart upon the first confrontation with the soldiers of the Partas Tribe.

In the end, it took only a few hours for the armies of the Partas Tribe to completely take over the Frozen Cover and its headquarters. Right now, the soldiers of the Partas Tribe were rounding people up; those who were deemed as suitable, especially young children who barely remember anything, would be assimilated into the Partas Tribe.

The rest were sent to the camps, where they were systematically killed, and their corpses were used to feed Danger Beasts that the Partas Tribe was breeding. Only some of the more powerful Psykers were taken as prisoners of war and transported into the Icecrown Citadel of the Partas Tribe.

This was done mostly at my request as I wanted some live subjects, and for better research results, I wanted to obtain live samples. It was rather a grim sight, but not the worst thing that I saw in my very, very long life... or what I did.

In the end, mercy was for the weak, and the Partas Tribe was doing everything they could to ensure their survival and dominance, even at the price of having a reputation as slaughterers or monsters scribed down in the history books.

That was the conviction that I could certainly respect...

"This entire ordeal is boring..."

Esdeath whined from the side; she was bored as hell. When she saw how easily the troops of the Partas Tribe were taking over the headquarters of the Frozen Coven. The defenders of the Frozen Coven were no match against that of the Partas Tribe, and due to the effects of the Dawn Pillars, there were no powerhouses against which to fight.

"I told you the same thing... under the might of the Dawn Pillars, even the most powerful Psykers would become powerless children, ready to be killed by the simple swing of a sharp blade."

I knew that Esdeath was eager for this war, but in turn, she was immensely disappointed when she was faced with the harsh reality of how weak their enemies had become. All mighty Psykers and Sorcerers of the Frozen Coven were powerless to put even rudimentary resistance in front of the troops of the Partas Tribe.

"And of course, you didn't listen to me even a bit, and now, here you are... You should really start presenting yourself with more dignity. Hopefully, nobody is around, and even if they were, I bet that they would already be frozen to icicles."

She was already whining to me for half an hour or so, about how disappointing this entire ordeal was, which was something that I could understand at least partially. I knew that, for a battle maniac, she was awaiting something more than just sitting on a nearby cliff together with me and observing the battle.

"Tsk... still, it is nice to have this moment just for two of us... such a perfect memorable moment..."

Some part of me almost shuddered because Hela said similar words to me af few times, as the woman got horny when there was a lot of carnage and slaughter around her. Not like I complained about that; it was always a welcome thing to be ready for pleasurable activities, even in the most unusual places for her.

"I must admit that it has some charm... the view is good..."

I tried not to comment on the mass executions that were being carried out not far from the city, which was also in our view, though I noticed that Esdeath became even more clingy than usual when she unbuttoned one of the upper buttons on her uniform, so I could clearly see her cleavage.

"Hopefully, the confrontation against the Northern Tribes would be more thrilling than this..."

She almost muttered as she sat down next to me, but I was ready to smash her hopes apart, very, very fast and hard.

"Not really... if the Partas Tribe completely digests the Inheritance of the Frozen Coven and starts mass-producing the technology it has together with my own intentions, then the Northern Tribes would be squashed in a few days at max. If you want to have powerful foes to fight against, then you need to leave this planet behind and head towards the stars."

Each of my words shattered her hopes of a good fight against the Northern Tribe more and more until nothing remained from it, and she thought about it more. If the Partas Tribe obtained all the things that I mentioned, then some of the Northern Tribes wouldn't be a challenge.

It's not like the Northern Tribes were really competitors for the Partas Tribe, even right now.

Chapter 666 – Conviction of the Strong and Powerful New
Esdeath was smart enough to realize what I spoke was nothing but the truth... perhaps, she knew it even better than me because, in the end, I wasn't native to these lands, and the time that I lived here was palpable compared to the entire life that she spent here.

She was far more aware of the true capabilities of their foes, even those in the South, and after digesting the inheritance of the Frozen Coven, Esdeath was aware of the cruel reality that the Partas Tribe wouldn't have any opponents.

With the legacy of Psykery from the Frozen Coven and another wave of industrialization that was initiated by me, Jeron Egan Butler, a name that would most probably become immortalized in the annals of the history of the Fenran Rex IX. for eternity.

"Stars... that would be nice, but unfortunately for you, there are no working starships, and we are lacking the technology to manufacture one even with the STCs that we have on hand. The last spaceport is in ruins, and even those ruins are under the control of the Northern Tribes..."

Indeed a lot of what Edeath said was true, but also not...

"Northern Tribes will fall sooner or later to the Partas Tribe and their entire legacy would be yours. Not to mention, if I have enough resources, I can order the STCs to start making the starship; the real problem is just a lack of several materials and some elements to make the engine... that is all, aside from creating stabilization on the Gellar Field, nothing much is really a problem for me."

The technology that generates a protective Gellar Field, also spelled Geller Field, around a Starship intended for faster-than-light travel, was invented along with the Warp-Drive by Humanity sometime in the 18th Millennium AD during the Age of Technology.

The technology, formally called a "Gellar Field Device" allowed Warp-capable starships and their occupants to survive the extremely hazardous environment of Warpspace, and thus, one was protected from the dangers of the Immaterium to a certain degree.

The Gellar Field protects the starship and its occupants from the hostility of the psychically reactive Warp environment itself as well as from the predation of Warp entities such as Daemons and Enslavers.

The device worked by literally projecting a bubble of realspace around the starship where the physical laws of space-time continued to function; the technological means by which this was accomplished seems to have changed over time.

When we were using the device at the peak of humanity, at the summit of the Golden Age of Technology, we were able to use the Gellar Field as an offensive means against the denizens of the warp.

One of the things that I managed to obtain from the vaults of the Partas Tribe was the remnants of the Imperial Gellar Field Device from the starship of the Imperium of Man, and I had to say that they were vastly inferior to those of the Terran Federation.

It seems that humanity in this age has truly lost far more than I had anticipated during the Long Night when everything went to shit... fortunately enough, I died before I could see it with my very own eyes.

To create a perfect Gellar Field Device, I would need to synthesize some elements, and that requires some resources that the Partas Tribe doesn't have right now. For that, we would need to gather some resources before I could start working on the starship.

I already chose the model that I was going to manufacture, as I needed only a small personal starship that would take me out of the Fenran Rex IX. and because this planet was enveloped by damned a warp storm, I would really need to adjust the spaceship too much to be capable of going through the warpstorm.

It would be compared to the state-of-the-art starships in the Solar Terran Federation during the Golden Age of Technology because only such ships could go through the warstorm rather safely.

Even then, it was rather a risky thing to do...

But I didn't really have any other choice because it seemed that the Warpstorm wasn't going anywhere from the Fenran Rex IX. from my observation of the Warpstorm, this one seemed to be the permanent one.

Those ones were rather rare because there were only a few of them in the entire Galaxy, and it could be counted on one hand. Thus, the sole option was to construct a spaceship that would be capable of bypassing the Warpstorm rather safely, if nothing else.

That was a rather hard task.

Even metals that were required to do this were rare and something that Fenran Rex IX. had scarcely, and we would need to create those alloys from scratch. If only the Fenran Rex IX. wasn't enveloped by the permanent Warpstorm; I could have waited until the Warpstorm ended and then left in an ordinary starship.

But no... my luck was terrible this time.

"Then I want to go with you... If there are more powerful warriors in the stars, I want to fight them and slay them to prove my superiority so that nobody could stand in front of my saber."

I could see a twinkle in her eyes as she spoke those words with conviction and eagerness; she was deeply aware of the fact that if she remained on this planet, she wouldn't be able to fit any worthy foes, but out here...

Among the stars, there were a lot of powerful foes for her to fight against, and that was something worthwhile...

Only in there could she finally reach her full potential, something certainly worthwhile for her time. When she was finally severely disappointed by the weakness of her very own planet, as there were not any powerful opponents for her, she needed to fight them elsewhere...

In the stars, destiny awaits.

"As you wish then... You will have your journey to the stars and the fight that you carve so much. I can safely say that within the stars, there were entities and beings that could wipe out entire planets with ease, remake continents with her blow, and annihilate civilizations with their Psykery..."

Obviously, there were not a lot of them, but there were...

Chapter 667 – Dealing with Things, Thoughts of the Milky Way New
There were countless powerful entities within the Milky Way Galaxy of the Immaterius Universe because even during the times of the Terran Federation, we could probably list several thousand extremely powerful Aeldari Psykers that could reshape entire continents with their powers relatively easily.

And less said about the Greenskins, who were especially powerful when they were in great numbers and utilizing the Psychic potential of their whole species, which made them one of the gravest threats to any sentient species in the galaxy.

They cared only about a single thing in their whole life and the existence of their race.

War.

Nothing more and nothing less.

In fact, they would probably have a lot of similarities with Esdeath, next to Hela or me, because both of them were also obsessed with waging wars and fighting powerful foes. Still, the Greenskins were able to discard everything, their lives included, so they could wage wars.

In the end, their entire culture, the "Kultur", revolved only around the concept of WAAAGH!, fighting, killing, once again fighting, and once more killing.

Aside from the Aeldari that were the pinnacle of the Pskyer Powers, there were countless powerful Daemons and other creatures from the depths of the Immaterium that were nowadays plaguing the Milky Way Galaxy like some locust.

And not forgetting the dammed Imperium of Man and the Emperor of Mankind.

Even though, according to the information that I gathered on the Imperium of Man, it became the abomination and antithesis to everything that the Emperor of Mankind was preaching about during the Great Crusade ten thousand years ago.

Which was rather ironic, in my opinion.

But still...

The thought of an unshackled genius Tier 12 or perhaps even stronger entity being in the Milky Way Galaxy was certainly unsettling. Even though this body of mine that I was using in the Immaterius carried something that could kill even Tier 12 Entities, I seriously doubted that it would work on the Emperor of Mankind.

Much less on the Four Gods of Chaos, which was directly tied to the Immaterium, and due to their connection to the Immaterium, all four of them were something like Divine Thrones.

Basically, I couldn't kill them easily, even if their powers were not compared to the geniue Divine Throne. Even though they were not Primarchs, they managed to achieve a similar state to the Divine Throne due to the particular capabilities of the Immaterium.

So yeah...

Many and many problems were all around us.

"Excellent, my dear..."

She almost purred out the sentence as I internally chuckled to myself.

Esdeath Partas was indeed like Hela; if I knew that they were not related for sure, then I would say that they must be sisters or whatever. Perhaps even alternative versions of themselves?

Who knew...

But one thing was sure for now.

It was true that in the future, I won't be able to get rid of her.

Still, she would certainly be a valuable asset to the Chthonian Empire of the Baator; perhaps it would be prudent to consider creating a rather good path for her to power. Right now, standing at the limits of Tier 8, it was the maximum that she could attend without any external assistance.

"How long till the matters with the former Frozen Coven are resolved?"

I asked because I wanted to start building my Starship that could take us from this forsaken planet.

Rather ironic that I was calling this planet forsaken, even though it was due to its forsakenness that it was safe heaven. There were no WAAAGH! of the Greenskins, no invasion from the Void Insects or anything.

Yeah, apparently, some Hive of the Void Insects was rampaging in the Immaterius Universe under the leadership of Tier 12 Hivemind and devouring everything in their path. Rather a frightening prospect, and from the information collected, the Hivemind was approaching Tier 13 if everything went according to its plans.

Void Insects were trouble no matter where they were in the Endless Void, and the number of the Void Insects that became Tier 13 and became Primarchs could be counted on one hand in recent years.

Nowadays, apparently, everyone in the Endless Void was doing everything in their power to prevent new Primarch from emerging among the Void Insects because their species was just dooming the rest of the Endless Void to become their food.

In recent tens of thousands of years, the Sage Dynasty, Holy City, and Void Association were even issuing bounties on various Tier 12 Void Insect Hiveminds that were capable of ascending to the Primarchy and paying tremendously high rewards if someone managed to slay them.

There was a case of one civilization in an unknown Universe that managed to slay one of the Hiveminds through trickery and redeem the rewards from the three supreme powers, and just one thousand years later, the civilization gave birth to three Primarchs and around a hundred Tier 12 Exarchs just from the resources they obtained alone as a reward.

"A few weeks, and we can return back to the Icecrown Citadel..."

Esdeath hummed lightly as she was in charge of dealing with the aftermath of the conquest of the Frozen Coven.

Something about which she was particularly vocal about not liking.

Administration and bureaucracy.

That was her responsibility as chief of the conquest armies of the Frozen Coven, but instead of spending time doing what she was supposed to do, she was sitting with me on the cliff and talking.

Good for me, bad for her, as the work was there and waiting for her.

"Ts... can't you speeden it up? If you were attending to your duties as much as to our sparring season, we would be finished in a few days."

In fact, she needed to oversee only the most important things and nominate a few people to act as temporary governors of this place. After that was done, we could return to the Icecrown Citadel with haste.

The only problem here was that Esdeath was acting like a little petulant child when it came to doing something that she didn't like.

Chapter 668 – Wrapping Things Up New
"You know very well that I hate dealing with those useless things... if it doesn't include fighting and leading the army, I am not really interested. And besides..."

She made a pause as she looked at me with the most serious expression that she could muster.

"Paperwork is boring, and doing administration even more..."

What did I really expect from her... the uncanny resemblance that she bore to Hela in this manner was really something else. However, I had to admit that even Hela started attending to her duties as Lord Marshall Militant of the Imperial Army when she was named to the position.

And shortly afterward, once again, after Vali returned from the very same position, Hela returned to the post once more. She was rather good at it, despite her annoyance with the bureaucracy and other things.

"You know that you cannot build and lead a proper army without a proper bureaucratic system to administrate anything. If not, then you would be reducing yourself and your troops to a bunch of bandits or something else on that line, without much organization and structure."

I said as she frowned hearing that, but I was aware that she knew it was true... her dismay for anything not really related to the war, combat, battles and training was something that was severely holding her back.

Contrary to Hela, Esdeath didn't understand too well that even these boring things were very important in the great scheme of things, and someone needed to do them. This was a rather great deficit because while she was a splendid commander in the battlefield and a powerful powerhouse on her own, in the long term, she would be a somewhat terrible leader.

Even though she was obsessed with battles and waging war, she didn't quite understand the peculiarities of needs of the sentient living beings, that they were not really machines, and that not everyone was that much a battle maniac as her.

This was something that she would hopefully learn in years of training, but it really seems that she seriously neglected her education as the Heiress of the Partas Tribe... if she even had some, because I don't really think that somebody would dare to say something to her which she didn't want to hear in this aspect.

Even though, for someone as stubborn as her, she was rather open and tolerant toward different or even dissenting opinions on warfare and even often accepted them or implemented them if they had merit.

"Maybe you are right... but..."

She said quietly as she fidgeted her fingers and looked down on the ground, as I knew that this was something that she felt pretty ashamed about. Not like I cared, as I would never really laugh at her for not understanding most of the things that she needed to do as ruling governor of the Frozen Coven or any other territory.

I knew that even though she underwent some lessons in administration and statesmanship, she wasn't really paying attention, or else, she would have long ago dealt with minor things like this, but for Esdeath, all those things were boring.

"Don't worry... I won't laugh at you if you don't understand how bureaucracy works and so on; if you want help, I am willing to impart to you some tricks that I learned in my time."

Hearing what I said, she looked downcast and that she doubted me for sure... despite her rough exterior, Esdeath was actually rather an easy person to read. One just needed to know how, and the rest would already go by itself.

"Cheer up a bit, once you learn how, it will be easy for you... not to mention, you can actually select what you will do and create a trusted body of bureaucrats under you that will be taking care of the minor things, not requiring your personal oversight."

I said as she almost immediately enveloped me in a bear hug, as I almost felt my bones breaking, which was rather a feat, as this body of mine was created to be rather durable, and yet her physical strength was really fearsome.

***

Several days later, the former headquarters of the Frozen Coven.

After several days, everything was going much better...

Finally, at last...

After I started tutoring Esdeath on the arts of statesmanship, she was learning rather fast, and soon enough, she was capable of handling most of the domestic affairs on her own, and due to the increase in efficiency in ruling, most of the things that were stuck started going down one after another.

Ironically, though, it has been proven to be a rather wrong move by Esdeath when she dumped all of the work on her subordinates at the first moment she could because neither of them was doing it with haste like she wanted.

She was spamming one order after another and overseeing the crucial projects in the Frozen Coven.

Especially the dismantling of the defense of the Froezne Coven, or at least those that still remain, as this entire place was destroyed, and the Patriarch Ezran Partas decided to abandon this place.

During the siege, some of the most crucial defenses were destroyed, including the grand walls and great gate, together with some other facilities that were making this place so hard to conquer due to the overwhelming firepower of the Partas Tribe.

The machinery that was in good shape or could be repaired was being dismantled and brought back to the Icecrown Citadel. Another reason why the Partras Tribe deemed this place to be useless was its size, as it was too huge and too remote for the current needs of the Partas Tribe.

Even the Icecrown Citadel had the potential to hold far more people than it was currently holding. The transportation of the library and Psyker Artifacts from the Frozen Coven back to the Icecrown Citadel was going without a problem and was also personally overseen by Esdeath, as this was of the utmost importance.

That was the prime prize for the Partas Tribe.
