In a land where children get to go to assassin school, it's a good idea to keep hidden trumps; it's not as if you're not already hiding your true nature.

And besides, the more normal your abilities seem, the less people will disrupt your life by comparing you to Ninja Buddha; becoming the object of some religion only sounds like fun until it actually happens and you gain the religious version of stalkers.

 

Those two handsigns would have produced a failed Daitoppa for anyone who isn't a Mokuton user, but yeah, I didn't see any reason to change Naruto's affinity. I tend to think Naruto affinities are things of the body, not the soul; that's why they're transferable with the transplant of a person's heart, and why they seem to run in families. And, well, I already gave Naru-chan red hair, I thought I should let her keep her dad's affinity at least.
