Video Games General

Or more chillingly the Ronin are from the Federation who see Samus with her awakened Metroid abilities as something they can't hope to control. Or even just aim at a threat anymore.
Would the Federation....

Oh who am I kidding.

Of course they would.

At this point they are probably the dominant superpower. The Space Pirates are wrecked to hell and aside from some individual actors we haven't seen another faction rise up to contest that.

With the Metroid cloning facilities destroyed along with the X-Parasite....

Well Samus' dna and the power suit tech could catapult Fed science forwards decades at the very least. So I could see them playing fuck fuck games.

Edit: I just know that the last leg of the Kirby game will give us some cosmic mindbreaking horror that would put Resident Evil monsters to shame.

The difference between the 80s and now is that shareware was used by indie developers (ex. Spiderweb, id, even Epic when they were just starting) to pay the bills while building a userbase. The intent drastically changes when a major studio does it instead.

IdTech was hardly a small indie studio at the time with how well Wolfenstien3d sold.

As a Kirby fan I am legally obligated to irrationally distrust this newest companion for their surely inevitable betrayal despite that only happening twice throughout the entire series.

Girls have cooties. Very icky, no good. :V

Wasn't it thrice at this point?

I was looking for a better third example (I knew Spiderweb from the Geneforge games and didn't know about Epic's origins before I started that post) and couldn't think of one.

They're really going all in on "Samus is a space succubus," huh? I'm for it.

So after proceeding to have damn near every named character walk in on me bathing in blood for the free Age of Harmony section that Code Vein 2 added. I moved on to the actual DLC, and holy shit is Liv Voda designed for the internet. She is somehow thirstier than Holly AND Josee put together. Your first encounter starts with her trying to kill you, a boss fight, and then upon realizing her brother Valentin (because of course she's related to him) sent you, proceeds to flirt heavily with you and if it were not for you two getting pulled into the temporal rift that is the plot, probably would have ravished you on the spot.

Much less going by Samus' monologue, if one of the Ronin (not official, I'm just calling them that from the hats and use of energy swords) calls her a monster to her face, I can see Samus just calmly saying "You've noticed..."
It seems that the Japanese and UK sites call these antagonists "Space Ninja".

so-i-guess-they-want-to-eat-her-good-to-know-v0-7955bhlzsjoh1.jpeg

Space ninjas that literally want to eat Samus. Course, not if Samus eats them first.

Well I have been Playing Iron Danger. Once you get into the flow it can end up looking like you're doing this like healing Magic doesn't Exist, untouchable in the proper flow of Time and yet your enemies keep getting slapped around. I've also found Topi useless except to provide his boost or throw grenades and block arrows. Kapuni is definitely the most useful.
For Reference: the Game is all about playing with the flow of Time to get out alive. Dying again and again and again and again an- Oh, a Chievo for 100 deaths, neat. What's 1 more death in a mass grave of one? What's a single drop in the sea of corpses scattered across never-bes. I genuinely wonder what this looks like from her companions view because mostly? They just see them getting out lucky or somehow being just better. But for them Kapuni looks like she's getting more caustic and jaded or more angrier through fights in ways they will never Understand.

There's no proper Save function, just Chapter Auto-Saves. If enemies combo attack you to death it will uncontrollably jump to the end of the combo (which might result in a permanent Game Over but I have only seen it during charge attacks and those end before things get truly bad).

Especially having fun with Madness. Just pitting enemies against everyone. Last time I used something like this was in Blood West and it only permanently agro'd enemies.

They look like a boy band, ngl.
Space ninja boy band to Samus immediately before they try (and predictably failing) to eat her (but succeeding in resetting her tech as is with all Metroid Games. Sooner or later Samus should just do it herself):

Something from my Steam Calendar: Fallosophy. Basically pinball as a platformer. Kinda reminds me of Jump King.

Metroid Ravenous finally got announced.

Samus can eat people now. :V

Thought: that's the Cutscene where her tech gets reset to zero like happens at the beginning or every Metroid Game. Have to wonder how many more times this has to happen before she starts deliberately uninstalling the things whenever arriving at a new planet. Not like she won't get it back, she always does. If she gets a version she likes she can keep it on the ship! Just toss the extras.

As if there wasn't enough Samus Vore... Weirdly next to none on EH. Also weirdly thought that one gator alien giant from Dread would've Inspired Vore given Samus literally goes inside the thing to blow it up.

I was never clear on anything about Kraid. Is it the same one every time, how do they move his fat ass, is he even intelligent, and so on.

Nah, they're cloning him just like they do Ridley, because Space Pirates and original ideas aren't really a thing.

Dunno how smart he is though.

So finished up the Code Vein 2 DLC (aside from the Trials of Recollection, but to my knowledge that's just a boss rush and I have no interest in doing that at this very moment). Its decent, maps are mostly alright except for the Prison which is terrible, why Souls Likes insist on platforming sections when they are NOT built for platforming is beyond me. The story is a bit meh, part of the punch from the main campaign is that every major boss is either someone you've spent the past 5-10 hours in a given region working alongside or an enemy directly tied to them, there's emotional investment in the fights. The only DLC fights with any real investment are the last couple. Liv being the new companion however brings a lot to the table (technically there's two new companions, but the other one is a alternate timeline version of Lou and while she plays differently, its still Lou). She's well written and Cristina Vee knocks it out the part as her (in fairness, all the companion VAs are great, Bandai Namco has done a great job with the main cast this game). The bosses themselves are decent, only one I died on was the last with the surprise second phase, as it complete second health bar after draining the first (something I can't recall any other fight in Code Vein 2 having).

Also in the same vein is this shipwright Game:

So pricing for the frame comes out as $1,059 for the 256GB SKU and $1,299 for the 1TB model both of which include their controllers. Charger is the same as the Steam Deck, though you can buy an extra for $29 and the ergonomic kit including handstraps for the controllers cost $59. Right now it is just sign up for the que which goes live on the 17th.

Not bad. It's only $60 more than the Index was, and it's standalone.

Not gonna get one unless my Index goes out, but it's nice to know it isn't that much pricier.

And per the Gamer's Nexus review, unlike the cheaper Meta Quest 3, Valve is not demanding your personal data as part of the User Agreement.
