I wrote it like the Heroes knew about Marchioness, but not what her powers were yet. A minor rewrite of maybe 2 paragraphs, and it could be written so they had no idea who she was.

Either way, it would be one HELL of a cape debut.

I'm strongly considering reworking her powers very slightly to fit, and including that scene, or a version of it, in canon for this story. :D

I honestly fail to see how it doesn't fit already. You don't have to be a hero to care about people who are hurt after all.

Range needed to be remodded slightly. But I've done that since without seriously increasing her upper limits. Her power now matches both the chapter and the omake. :D

Her emotional reactions are:
Positive 3: Absolute adoration. Will do more or less anything for the person. (Marquis, Abigail)
Positive 2: Strong liking. Wants the person to succeed at whatever they do. (Jonas, Damien)
Positive 1: Liking. Enjoys being around the person. (her school friends)
Neutral: Doesn't have much of a concern either way. (casual acquaintance)
Negative 1: Dislike. Does not want to be around the person. (Canon!Taylor with Mr Gladly)
Negative 2: Strong dislike. Wants the person to fail. (the guy whose hands she melted)
Negative 3: Utter hatred. Wants to see the person dead, or in agony, or one then the other. (the guy she jellified)

Note that someone can be moved from one category to another, but it takes a lot to hit a '3' category on either end.

One of my Omake's being re-purposed as canon? Go for it!
I don't write much, and am honestly not that good at it (I would never be able to write an original fiction, for example); but I am decent at short snippets when the muse strikes. This was one of the longest things I've ever written, and possibly the most coherent.:D

Out of curiosity, what bits of the range needed to be reworked?

I had envisioned her in middle of the waiting area, with her able to heal relatively effectively to around the edge of the waiting area, and able to sense things a bit further out; hence her needing to start moving towards the ambulance before the woman started stabilizing, and healing faster the closer she got, while not having enough control to have the metal rod removed until she was touching her.

The hospital staff were bringing patients to the waiting room to be healed, rather than her going to them -- and since she was in the ER receiving area, she'd obviously see all the critical patients right away -- and the patients sitting in the waiting room weren't waiting to get seen by a doctor, they were currently being treated. I imagine the people waiting to be treated in the waiting room were handled before she even finished introducing herself to the hospital staff, which emptied it out quite readily since everyone was healthy again.

The man with his arm in a sling around his arm just had a sprained muscle, so was healed very quickly since it was so minor.

If anything I was worried I had downplayed her range too much honestly, lol.

Also... Something I wrote not just being made into canon, but changing canon... Wow.

Basically, her range for people she didn't know was a lot shorter, because of the way I had the ranges set up. The trick was to alter the way it worked so that both my chapter and your snippet were both accurate; I didn't want her high-end ranges to get too extreme.

Ack, I saw this and suddenly really want to re-write my omake to have the woman be a car crash victim (pipe replaced by crushed rib-cage for example, would only be an edit of a few lines)... And yes, it's still a year until the crash, but I think Marquis would want to train Claire some before her public debut, it's not completely unreasonable the timing could line up; and would even give an in to have Taylor eventually join Marquis gang. Need to give the omake a good edit for spelling/grammar anyways, heh.

Anything in canon say if Annette made it to the hospital or died on-scene from the crash?

Nothing in canon to say either way.

The only thing is the timing; around the end of August, 2008.
