Yep, definitely nothing to hide. Going as a civilian girl is perfectly okay. Unwritten rules only covers capes anyways. You aren't making your home and everyone who lives in it a target for gang members at all if you are merely a civilian girl with access to power armor that is likely not stashed at your house.

Interesting, was this a flub moment where Taylor also outs herself? Because it is hard to image Sophia missing on the rush of heat throughout her body.

Kind of wish this quest was on one of the two other forums. Cause I genuinely like this quest, but I have no idea what direction the other players want to take the quest towards. There is basically zero relevant discussion between players.

Yeah... about that. So how did this major event come about with the Protectorate not out of town?

Dinah had her powers less that a month, unless 'several weeks' can stretch up to two months, before she got kidnapped... which was on April 14th. Huh.
Anyways, I little over two weeks early.

I have doubts that Rachel could have pushed Lung hard enough that all Protectorate members were occupied by that. Except the kidnapping happened during the robbery, not Lungs retaliation?

Still...

Feels like Taylor doesn't need to butterfly anything. There are so many major changes in the background before the quest even started.

I guess dates really don't matter at all.

 

QM Lies! Actually, not intentionally. I thought up additional material after saying that, because I thought about why the casino robbery would be a month early, and why Coil would be willing to sacrifice the Undersiders like that. It can't be mistake, because I can't make characters weaker than canon, so Coil must have some other strength that lets him pull off the kidnapping earlier. Which I'm currently planning on revealing next interlude, but don't hold me to that.

On top of all that, I thought it would be more interesting this way. Using meta knowledge to prevent bad things from happening is less fun than using IC knowledge and power to do things, I think. Unless the intent of the story is to be a mashup of beneficial coincidences, with the protagonist none the wiser. And sure, The Man Who Knew Too Little can be fun, but that's not what I'm trying to write.

Preventing Dinah's kidnapping was now retroactively impossible, as it was in the future until it was in the past. That's Doylian logic. On Wattsonian reasoning, Coil can effectively spend time to guarantee success as long as people don't know how to prepare for him or even to prepare for him, and Lisa didn't know what plan needed to be stopped until too late. She's almost as much a victim here a Dinah herself.

It was still totally possible to prevent the breakup of the Undersiders, just a damned stupid thing to do and would prolly have resulted in a less interesting plotline. I'm really having fun with the whole Uber and Leet thing.

 

Eh, just means I can't take anything said outside of quest content at face value.

Here's hoping whatever happened simultaneously with the casino robbery makes sense and is well known enough that we can actually get clues from it in character. Though I have doubts we will have Taylor actually go and attempt to find or stumble across them unless you plant them directly in front of us.

I'm not complaining about that, that is perfectly fine and is more engaging. Usually. I hope you don't expect write-ins to find your sub-plots though, wouldn't hold my breath on that. Anyways, when you tell us things in advance, we (or I) kind of expect to be able to use it in some way. Having the rug pulled out from under you isn't pleasant, but I now know not to expect anything outside of story posts, so that's fine now.

If by preventing you mean attempting to strike at Coil before he got his hands on Dinah, yeah. At least that was what I was hoping for, IF Taylor was sufficiently prepared. Yeah, it was a big if.

Figured the preventing the act of the kidnapping on the day of it was impossible, given that Taylor only has a set amount of choices that you provide and none of them have her anywhere near the rich side of town.

Of course, now it is practically impossible to think about assaulting Coil or interfere in his operations since he will always be prepared for it unless he doesn't ask the right questsion, did a split in the middle of an operation or Dinah attempts to mislead him. The only hope now is that awareness of a successful future means there are chances that he messes up some how or amassing enough power or skill to steamroll any resistance.

I'm not bothered about preventing the Undersiders from not being a thing. Just that their one act of acting a month earlier has far more reaching effects than it was actually stated to have.

1.1 to 1.5 is less than three days. No one would go out armed with only a butterknife that you can only use as a melee weapon. Never heard of the Undersiders until the second day. There was an option to do something at night, but we still only had a butter knife that can't even be used as a projectile unless you actually threw it by hand. It was also at the expense of being tired on the third day when the entire day was reserved for the Metroid live-streaming. Yeah, couldn't see it happening.

Though I'm curious as to how we could have saved them, when in the Interlude, it was only Rachel that just lured out and killed. Well, before you said saving them from an angry dragon and now it was just keeping them from breaking up as a group, so it sort of makes sense now. Given that it was only Rachel, she wouldn't give a rats ass about another person and just bailed by herself (and her dogs) since she doesn't actually know us. Might not have actually effected the Uber & Leet plotline much unless Taylor actually got injured.

Despite my gripings, I am perfectly fine with non-story posts being subject to change when it is for the betterment of the story.

 

Hmm well meeting with Lisa turned out to be as useful as I thought though wasn't expecting that little timeline shift twist not sure where to go from here but we definitely need more allies than just Uber and Leet.

If you want to be able to find Coil (or rather his strongholds/safehouses), which if I recall correctly, no gang or the Protectorate have done before, you would probably need to do some training with Structural Analysis and the mental parts of Tracing/UBW, grab something from his mercenaries and hope you get lucky or something like that.

There are most likely other ways that don't involve being better skilled than you currently at with your native powers and I'll be quite exasperatedinterested in seeing how that plays out.

I personally want to see a combat capable Reality Marble deployed and putting a downpour of iron rain on Kaiser. Maybe even in some kind of medieval looking armor.
