Look to be fair to my girl vasha she's had a damn bad for the colonel for ever and hey this way there might be a chance to get her pregnant by said colonel. So she's not going to pass that up ever and if she has to get Mr shovel to deal with a couple people so all they notice about the colonel is a new hairstyle some sacrifices for the greater good must be made

Oooh I have a headcanon for why aura exists, humanity returned, and Faunus appeared, what if when humanity was remade by the Brother of Light he couldn't remake them fully as they were born of both light and darkness.
So, knowing that his brother wouldn't help, BoL used some of the remaining essence of destruction (Grimm pools) that the BoD left behind to remake humanity. But because this was at best a stop gap measure it was never enough to rebuild humanity to their full potential and left a crack in their soul that would later become their aura.
During this process he'd also experiment on making different versions of humanity to see if he could fix the crack in their soul but seeing that it was impossible without his brothers powers the BoL gave up and let his experiments roam free.
And now with a reborn mankind, he'd resurrect Ozpin to reunite humanity. But the BoD furious at his brothers actions makes so that his creations would perpetually hunt down this new humanity to reclaim the darkness his brother stole.
And then BoL could have made the Silver Eyes in response as well.

Personally I do hope the lore bit of Nick being Ozpin's and Salem's son doesn't stick around after Halloween.
It makes the world feel too small and make anything and everything connect back to those two, even such incredibly minor things, rather than just people living their lives and being able to become strong without some uber-magic and/or gods infuenced lineage.
I'd always liked it when Nick's lineage was either unknown and likely completely normal, but he still turned out into an monster of a fighter, shounen series hero and was possibly a protagonist of a harem series.
Because great things don't need to come from those exclusive and special places, they can come from anywhere and from the normal places (it's kinda like why hobbits and halflings from D&D are so much fun).

Sorta a big AU idea.
After killing her daughters Salem was horrified by herself and what she was becoming.
She couldn't stop the taint of a. God, so she made herself harmless.
She becomes the wanderer. A obviously insane woman who's hair and skin are dyed and colored a chaotic rainbow of colors.
She travels around with a few cats black as night with red eyes and white bone collars.
She's mostly harmless, she does magic shows (really good ones it's almost like she can do some real magic) and tells stories. When she can keep her attention focused long enough.
She never stays in one place, always moving. She can't remember why but she knows if she's found it'll be bad.
Meanwhile OZ is looking for her to finish his mission (he hasn't had centuries of losing friends fighting her or betraying him so he's still pretty devoted to his cause).
And others have heard of the immortal woman and want her secrets. It is a very bad idea to let that happen.
"You were so scared of being a monster that you'd rather break yourself into a million pieces. Well we're here to put you back together. We don't want the woman we want the witch!"
(Her Grimm cats with her are sorta seals. One contains the bulk of her magic. The other holds the majority of her knowledge and cunning.)
