Right. Unlike Mottom, Jadis, Solomon, Meti, etc. our heroine does not let her feelings about death control her. The facts and effects of death do not warp her, nor are they all-consuming motivations.

Recall the revelation she had after meeting Zaid. The suffering is real, but suffering is not everything. It is not enough to beat her out of being-living as- Allison.

Is it really fair to force an answer to philosophical by reptilian instinct?
This defeats the whole reason why we wonder.
The snake does not ask if they're a hypocrite for biting a mouse after escaping the hawk.
Indeed, the snake may even self-destructively eat their own tail.

Maya ten Meti may wish for a student that is not a snake.
But how is a parent* this impatient with a scared mouse?
