Huh.... that was unexpected. Tried to get it, but Google Store is so horrible.... I cannot find it on the phone app and if I try to download it through internet explorer, it tells me I need to open it in the app.... why even have a Website anyone can access if you don't allow downloads outside the app!

Actually, anyone knows which Galaxy Samsum you would need? I think mine is S3, so I don't know if it is good enough for the game anyway.

I downloaded it and tried to open it, but it won't do so and tells me there was a failure while parsing the file? I have activated the thing that allows app downloads from outside Google Store...

All I know is I was able to download it on my phone and install it without any special things being needed...

You could also download it on your computer and just transfer the file to you phone?

Hmmm.... just got it working, but the server is down. And I also cannot make a Trainer Club Account since they don't allow more than a certain amount to get created at a time.

I live next to a river, so there should be lots of potential water Pokemon around.

Is Pikachu more difficult to get than the other starters if you don't take it at the start?
 
So, I walked around a bit, caught some mons. Nothing more exciting than a Goldeen, but it was at least something. I guess I couldn't expect to run into a Mewtwo^^

Have some Pokestops involving minor curiosities, a playground, a sports place and more around. But half of them I cannot reach because GPS goes dead if I go there.

Actually GPS seems to be slower on the uptake. Occasionally my figure won't move for a while, then quickly run to an entirely new place, noticing that I have been moving. Or sometimes a mon will appear that wasn't anwhere on my close-by Pokemon list. Like a male Nidoran that just popped out of seemingly nowhere.

There is also an arena around, but I cannot even look at it closely since I am too low level... there seems to be a Snorlax there!

Same as me. I guess it's a common problem.

I also saw more than one arena around, one had a Gyarados. Are those made by the game or by fellow players? I am not sure.

I know that if you beat an Arena enough, you can put your own Pokemon in there.

If that is a player controlled Gym, I am curious how rare Snorlax is. I know there was a Magikarp around somewhere, though I didn't find it sadly. So Gyarados at least shouldn't be too hard to get if you can catch a lot of Magikarp.

This is a known issue... there is something screwy with the proximity detection for the pokemon near players, they all show up as "3 paw print" in range, instead of 1, 2, 3 range bands.

You can do gyms at level 5 plus... just keep catching pokemons and you'll get there soon enough.

Players basically get to fight gyms filled with other players pokemon (only 1 mon per player in any gym, but you can get multiple players stuffing their mons in there).

Oh... Gyarado... you need to catch 100 Magikarps to evolve the 101 Magikarp into a Gyrados. You basically need to be living or working near open sources of water like a lake or harbour to be able to catch those kind of magikarps...

Snorlax is relatively rare.

I'm level 18 and I started on the 7th.. and I'm not the strongest one around that I've seen, I've heard of people at level 20+ getting VERY nice stuff... so very jelly. But pokemon go is a fun game and you'll get exercise.

Checking back into the game, things have changed already... now there is a Hypno on top of the one Gym. Another one in the opposite direction has a Pidgeot.
 
How many people can put Pokemon into a Gym anyway? Should I challenge one when I am Level 5 or better wait because there will be dozens of mons wanting to stomp me?

I'm only level 12, though. Since my game doesn't show me how close Pokémon are, I'm pretty much unable to actually hunt them down. I can only wander around randomly and hope they pop up in my path, so I haven't found very many.

In fact, most of my stronger Pokémon have come from eggs, since I get enough mileage each day to either hatch a bunch or get real close to hatching them. On a good day I can usually hatch a 10km egg and make good progress into a second one, but most days I make more like 8km. Makes me wish I had a second permanent incubator so I could hatch multiple 2-5k eggs at once.

Have you tried updating your Android system? Mine was at 3.0 and I never updated it until then. I didn't even know that you needed to update it manually.
