Or to put it another way: Lars was distracted and simply agreed to everything automatically.I'm not sure how they got permission for this one, but from what I can tell it was 'authorized' by the Moff in that he was busy muttering something about Akahista and said 'sure do whatever' when asked.
I guess the SPMA-T from Empire at War is too expensive/ wasn't available?Project THUNDER
- Current Status Early Developmental Phase
- Estimated Completion Six to eight months to prototyping, one year to final production
- Project Overview
- Inspired by recent advanced walker designs introduced by MynockArms, this project involves an entirely new and currently unnamed four legged mobile artillery asset. The weapon system is engineered to provide sustained indirect fire support across the theater of operations.
- This unit aims to fill a critical tactical gap by avoiding the massive logistical footprint of an SPHA walker while bypassing the direct line of sight requirements that limit the AT AP platform. Because the project is in its infancy, current engineering efforts are focused on auditing preexisting Imperial supply lines to maximize components compatibility, which remains a core requirement for the success of all Mytoan military assets.
Poor Las, accidentally approved the development of a space battleship while he wasn't paying attention and is gonna get a heart attack when they show him the finished product.Directors Note I'm not sure how they got permission for this one, but from what I can tell it was 'authorized' by the Moff in that he was busy muttering something about Akahista and said 'sure do whatever' when asked.
So, Las knows Endor is coming in a couple of years, right? Wouldn't he plan to skip town after that?
Rebels: "What do mean there are multiple generations of LECAs!?"
"Wow Inferno Squad really benefits from that little guy. Let's give one to every squad and pilot we can."
Tarkin is weeping in the afterlife. Good.
"Who needs gimmicky super weapons when can have effective artillery?"
"Who needs a city in a battleship when just a town can do?"
There is one thing: If Luke goes to Minda, instead of joining Rebel Alliance, then there is a problem (mainly for Rebels)
What in the armored core!?A preliminary variant is already fully operational as a dedicated spotter unit attached to the LECA A5 model
Yeah you can find it here, the A5 "Mortarman" model.
What's really funny is that Vader could've had a really good chance of recruiting Luke if only he tried bonding with him over Starships and Starfighter designs, maybe even try bribing him with getting him one of the new Tie-Whirlwinds. Luke got Anakin's love for building/modding Starships and flying. Even though Luke joined the Rebellion he still really wants to visit the Mindan system and sneak into the Starfighter design labs.Luke joined the Rebellion or else Episode 4 would have had a far different ending.
I'm not saying he probably hasn't visited at some point in the last three years if he had the chance, but our boy has been busy as all hell helping the Rebellion do its thing.
re'sI don't know about every other superweapon (Project 4: Tectonic Rail-Cannon), but that inter-system gun that can destroy planets sounded cool. I think Palpatine himself would say, "Hell yeah!" It sounds too cool not to have. Why not? I already have like 15 other superweapons; this one is just small and fires from a VERY long distance. I like it. I need to have one in my arsenal.
If you just modify it a little bit, put it in space, and surround the gun with spaceships—like a spinal weapon system—it could work really well.
Everybody, do you think these superweapon programs are paid for by the central Imperial government, or are they funded by Moffs from their own resources?
I was more interested in the range. This gun fires projectiles over extremely long distances—even into another star system. The smaller guns work more like real-life rockets with very long range, but they're uncontrollable once launched. Also, if one of them hits a planet, you'll get massive tsunamis.re's
The smaller scale prototypes are probably funded by the Moffs to start with. It's when they make a feasible and effective end product that Palpy takes an interest and and the Imperial Government takes over production on a larger scale.

I so want this to be part of this stories canon even if only in the background as it would mean that these guys inadvertently have ended up helping the Rebel Alliance as they would still order H-Wing parts from Koensayr Manufacturing. Now there is definately Rebel sympathisers within the company that will make sure that some of those parts get's lost in transit and ends up in the hands of the Rebel Alliance and if those parts include some Y-Wing spare parts as well, nobody important will know as they never reached Curcio Dynamics and they most likely didn't exist on an official manifests and if they did those manifests doesn't exist anymore.Omake: Trigon-2 Class Starfighter
Production Information
Manufacturer: Curcio Dynamics (subsidiary of BGES)
Model: Trigon-2 Class Starfighter
Predecessor: Trigon Class Starfighter
Type: Starfighter
Nicknames: Knockoff TIE/Minda, The Trigon That Wasn't Left Half-Finished, I Can't Believe It's Not Scrap, A Fulfilled Promise
Cost: 70,000 Credits new
On the flip side, the Trigon-2 would also be fairly useful to supply the more remote Imperial Remnant fleets in the future. Koensayr is one of the few companies that can rival Sienar in terms of parts ubiquity in this era. It should be easy enough to keep them decently maintained with off the shelf parts if one is willing to accept a small decrease in performance. A reliable, good enough starfighter like the Trigon-2 would be a good fit for any group without a secured support base who might have trouble with supplying things like torpedoes. Or pilots. At least it would probably be better than sticking said pilots in a two decade old design like the base TIE or some old fighter from the Clone Wars era with no modernization or upgrades that they dug out of a remote supply base.I so want this to be part of this stories canon even if only in the background as it would mean that these guys inadvertently have ended up helping the Rebel Alliance as they would still order H-Wing parts from Koensayr Manufacturing.
This is also true, but thanks to our Moff the Myto-sector is most likely going to end up being the go to manufacturing center for many Imperial Remnant forces the moment Kuat falls to the Rebel Alliance/New Republic, Sienar for the most part is going to fall into Zsinj's hands and he is one of the Warlords that tries to create his own breakaway state instead of styling themselves as a Imperial Successor state like the Pentastar Allignment that the Myto-Sector will be part of. Of course this fully depends on whether we will be dealing with a Disney, EU or mix/original post Endor Empire. The biggest reason for why Sienar for the most part is falls into Zsinj's hands is because a lot of their assets are in the territory he ends up claiming... lucky for a certain Moff that a lot of theirs and Kuat's designs are available within the Imperial Databases so he can rake in the credits by being able to manufacture them for his fellow Imperials within the Allingment and for those outside it for a up hike in price.
Yeah I noticed the resemblance too. Was pretty much inevitable once I decided to go triangle. However I felt it fit the Function over Form look that a Sector that just underwent an industrial and technological regression like Braxant would go for. They would probably not want to waste the extra industrial and technological resources to just to make their ship more aesthetically appealing. Why spend time refining a slim hull design when you can just bulk out for more (and cheaper) increases in performance?Looks like a Viper from Battlestar Galactica suffering from obesity.
Kek a lot of veteran officers suddenly finding themselves forcibly transferred and in the neighbouring sector there is a bunch of new academies that where in need of veteran officers to take up teaching positions that is now finally on track and producing good naval officers, unlike at the start where they where only able to produce good quality Army and Starfighter personnel... @Freefaller is this how Moff Mola finally solved his academy problem, by taking Surrde's old guard and sticking them into his academies as a way to give them a path towards redemption? However once Moff Marv took power, he probably brought a lot of young blood with him into the government and a lot of Clone Wars veterans most likely lost their positions due to their previous support of Surrde. Most of this younger generation had never even heard of a Tri-fighter, let alone seen one. So once they saw the Trigon-2, all they saw was a Star Destroyer shaped starfighter. This lead to the Trigon-2 enjoying the patronage and even some purchases from the new Braxant Sector government.
Sorry for not answering earlier. I was reading a pretty cute Sailor Moon fanfic. As for when the whiny rebel second in command destroyed that huge dreadnought, there actually was an explanation for it that explains why it can't really be replicated. Hell, I think I remember the explanation being found in the comments here in this very fic. Long story short, Hyperdrive systems rely on a process of locking onto the 'mass shadows' in Hyperspace, basically the masses of gravity so large that they spill over into hyperspace so they can be detected and used for navigation to avoid the risk of just flying into something. The dreadnought in question made use of an extremely powerful and experimental computing system that essentially gave itself an artificial mass shadow, which the lady was able to lock onto. Even the Death Star didn't quite have that to lock onto, which is why it only seemed to work in this instance. Though I don't recall exactly HOW she figured this out to discover it could work, and I'm pretty sure I'm not explaining it perfectly.

And honestly, this is probably one of the most infuriating things about the entire Disney Star Wars era.
The fact that they immediately went with "Nope, this can never happen again, forget about it" is such a massive waste of potential. They had an event that literally showed a single ship destroying an entire fleet of gigantic, supposedly unstoppable warships — and instead of exploring the consequences, they just threw it away like it was some random accident.
Why?
Why would you NOT make this the turning point of the galaxy?
A much better story would be:
Now you have an actual galaxy-scale conflict.
- The rebels witness a weapon that literally annihilates an entire fleet of super-ships.
- They discover that the Empire has more of these planet-killing monsters.
- One faction desperately tries to stop these ships before they can reach populated worlds.
- Another faction starts reverse-engineering the maneuver because they realize they have just found the ultimate anti-capital-ship weapon.
- The first group fails to stop the enemy fleet.
- The second group succeeds and creates a weapon capable of fighting these nearly unstoppable ships.
- The rebels launch their campaign and immediately destroy half of the enemy fleet.
- The remaining ships panic because they are no longer untouchable.
- Their only order becomes: "Evacuate."
The next movies could have been about hunting down the last 1–3 super-ships that can appear anywhere in the galaxy and destroy planets before anyone can react. Suddenly, Jedi become important again because the Force gives them precognition, allowing them to predict where these ships might strike.
That would have been an actual continuation of the story.
But no. Apparently, the idea of consequences was too much to ask for. They created one of the coolest tactical possibilities in Star Wars and then immediately buried it because they didn't want to deal with the implications.
And if we have to work with what we got, my solution would be even simpler: hyperdrive missiles.
Self-guided micro-rockets with their own hyperdrives, launched from ships or hidden platforms, could turn space warfare completely upside down. We already saw the concept of small ships with hyperdrives, like TIE fighters in the Disney films.
Basically, combine modern long-range missiles, submarines and stealth technology — but in space.
Now you have ships that can strike from impossible distances, disappear before retaliation, and threaten even the largest fleets. That would make warfare in Star Wars completely different and honestly far more interesting.
