  • A notice about Rule 3 regarding sites hosting pirated/unauthorized content has been made. Please see here for details.
  • Staff is working to deal with the problem of synonymous tags. See here for more information and to suggest tag mergers.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.

Announcement on Rule 3 and Doujin/Hentai Websites

FYI simple name matching is not enough to catch encoding fun.

Thanks for catching this.

As it stands, the word filter is intended to easily catch the majority of inadvertent violations. It's not really practical to prevent deliberate workarounds like this, at least without a lot more work on the backend, so we won't try.

However, I will note that anyone who uses tricks like this to bypass the filter and link to pirated manga is demonstrating intent to break the rule, and we'll consider this more harshly than an inadvertent violation.

I asked about f95 before and got an "err on the side of caution" but I have a niche fetish thread on there that I am planning on replicating here as a discussion/images thread and want to know if it is cool to link that thread. It isn't piracy just a list of games and hentai and such and it would save me from having to recreate the whole list and strip links out of it. It is so much less work if I can just link it and don't have to recreate the list from scratch especially since I will be making a general discussion thread and not maintaining a curated list like I do over there.

As an aside, it isn't really a rule 3 question but since I am here anyway, the thing that made me want to make a discussion thread here is a controversy which I don't think breaks any rules, it isn't political and the person in question posted it of their own volition and has no personal information so I don't think it counts as doxing/revenge porn either. For reference it is the Deme vtuber scandal going around, easy to find if you don't know, not discussing the scandal itself but purely the subject's use as fetish material.

As some of you may be aware, Rule 3 prohibits links to piracy websites that allow bulk downloading of unauthorized works:

Enforcement has been fairly lax, and it came up that there are a rather large amount of links to those sites.
As such, we have implemented Xenforo's word replacement/censorship to auto break the URL links to those sites. This will work by breaking the clickability of the websites.
For example, instead of the direct URL for "doujinsite.com" it would be replaced with "doujinsiite dot com"

Please do not attempt to work around this filter. Direct links to sites hosting pirated content is still against the rules.
so,if it is pirate site, but could not be downloaded,we could use it?

To answer your question with the answer you even quoted

Tbh, I think you guys might wanna clarify the wording of the actual rules a bit. They explicitly say that links to manga reader sites are allowed, but not to ones that let you download stuff. That implies that links to sites with pirated content are allowed as long as you can't download it. Whereas here you say all links to pirated content are against the rules.

Do you want us to stop leaving you with plausible deniability and the benefit of the doubt? Because it sounds like you're asking us to stop leaving you with plausible deniability and the benefit of the doubt. That sort of murky, uncertain wording is not there because we want to spend more of our time smacking more people. We don't.

I think you are confusing two sub-rules. Links to pirated content are not allowed (the main rule), AND links to sites that let you download doujin/hentai are not allowed, but may be mentioned by name and URL. If the site fits EITHER of those categories, it is not allowed to be linked.

I've generally avoided using pictures too much, but since I began to write a Quest on QQ for a try, I've posted some images from Rule34, though those pictures seem to fail to show up most of the time.

I thought that was not among the banned sites, but after seeing that quoted post at the top of this page by the administrator, I'm currently concerned if I have actually been poking at a site for pictures for monsters/anomalies that I should not have?

I'm looking to see if I should try and search the thread for those pictures/links and delete them, or if its a case "don't do it again" now that I know, and am kind of lost. I thought, previously, that this was mainly on doujin sites and ex hentai, but that rule34 was just hosting images and a lot of AI made stuff on that note. If I've been violating that rule, I kind of want to figure out if I should start to hunt down any such picture links to delete them entirely from the thread, or if its a matter of "Don't post any more" going forward. Given the pictures in question for most part failed to load at all, it wouldn't be a big loss for the thread but I am figuring how bad it is.

My apologies, this was not intentional stupidity, though i fear it was still stupidity, if Rule34 is a banned site, I figured I'd at least ask here how to act on this now.

EDIT: I am mainly concerned because I saw the site failing to show the images, but included a direct link to pictures, realized after posting this question I should clarify, this is why I am concerned, and thinking I should go back to root for the posts and delete them, but also checking here how bad it is.

Embedding images from rule34 has been broken for a few months now, it seems to be something on their end

Rule34 is not among the sites in the word filter.

*checks site*

Tbh, I don't think image sites are really what the rule is for. nhentai/exhentai/e-hentai are blocked because they have the option to download full hentai manga stories. Image sites… I mean, we're not an image site, but it's not like we verify whether a user has the copyright or permission to post any given image either. Very few places on the internet do, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Edit: Did check, and my take is correct.

Rule34 embeds don't load properly because QQ is running into a captcha when it tries to cache the image, it's not getting blocked by the linkfilter. Theoretically the linkfilter this thread is about would have broken those direct links for you if they were a problem, but I'm pretty sure rule34.xxx falls into the same category as other boorus and is an allowed site (ninja'd: looks like it is an allowed site).
