You are Montmorency, of the family Montmorency, and this night is not going as planned. You had meant to merely go collect some ingredients from the woods, with the company of your new friend Louise, who isn't as bad as the rumors painted out, and your sort of boyfriend Guiche.

You had not planned on being drawn into combat with a giant stone golem, more then three stories tall, a golem meister that doesn't seem to be anywhere, a classmate who displayed what has to be at least a triangle class firespell, is now throwing lighting, an advanced type of air magic, and is using some fire/air spell to grant flight on you all repeatedly. On, and Guiche is swarming the thing with his Valkyries. Which isn't actually doing much, admittedly, but seems very distracting...

...You are feeling very inadequate, for some reason. And, for that matt-Ohgodwatchoutforthattreewhyisthegolemthrowingthingsatyou-er, where are the staff? You'd think that, perhaps, having a giant golem attack the school would get there attention, yes?

Indeed, this is not how you expected your evening to go.

And then, of course, because the Founder must hate you if you are being put through this, the doors to the main vault explodes and an army of golden golems swarm out. And still no sight of the earth mage behind this.. Huh, you didn't know Guiche could make that many golems. Judging by his sweat and suprised look on his face, neither did he..

Sadly, you are then distracted from properly considering what is going on by the fact that the giant golem is no longer distracted, and is now throwing even bigger chunks of stuff at you as it fails to get into swatting range. Like that giant chunk of wall that just missed you.

Wait, why is Louse glowing like that?.. Did her hair just catch on fire?!? And now she's-Whatthehellarghethathurts-Ouch.

Well, the good news is that Louise released some sort of energy wave that exploded every golem on the field, big or small, Guiche's or not. The bad news is that she seems to have burnt most of her uniform off, set her hair on fire, and smells like cooked pig. Oh, and a tendril of.. something, colored in the shape of violence and passion, shaded with rot, pealed off her while she was doing that and seemingly grounded itself through you. You think it's time to take a nap now...

You are Guiche de Gramont, and this day is not going well. You have just been through a large battle, you've almost completely tapped out of all your willpower, your allies (And girlfriend. Or at least you hope she's your girlfriend) have just collapsed onto the ground and look in very bad shape, and no one at all has come to investigate the battle. Oh, and now that said battle is over, you can see the flickering light changing of something that is on fire and moving in the main hall of the building. (Damn that fire mage father hired to teach you tactics last summer, those blasts hurt) And hear the sound of impacts, come to think of it.

And now strange whispy.. fight colored?.. Whisps are floating around the field.. and.. huh, you just refilled a bit of willpower when you touched one. And felt funny. That probably means something. You aren't sure what though..

Just pointing out you don't actually know that the crumbling dirt is doing this crime, much less where she is.. almost like something is distracting her~

And Guiche can't make golems that are automatic yet anyway, even as a Line Mage.

I'm kind of astonished that didn't just end with Louise's death, considering the ridiculously wasteful amounts of mana Biigoh just built up.

Good thing she has a trait that gives her some resistance to manaburn, I suppose.

Ah well, no use crying over spilt milk and we'll hopefully know better next time.

Mana burn has been retconned out since M10. Does this mean that Louise is an Urza-type planeswalker?

Heard from Happerry that Louise shunted the mana she didn't spend into the environment... which means people are actually getting buffed up by the red mana
 
Still, it would be best if she only channels the amount of Mana she is actually going to use.

I will admit that I was deeply unimpressed by the Neowalkers. As I mentioned earlier, in this setting walkers start out much weaker then oldwalkers, but when they become actually old walkers, they are pretty damn close to that power level on average. Mana burn exists.

She grounded alot of it into the environment through herself from not being able to control it all in combat and while casting spells she never casted before, to be precise.

It is harder to control mana that you aren't using when you are in combat and casting spells.

As should have been obvious to everyone when Louise got this trait quite a while back:
Burn Resistance: B-, Louise has, as a direct result from overloading herself with her first MTG style spell, developed some resistance to the effects of mana burn. And continued incidents of overpowered spells has only increased this.
 
Resistence to mana burn is a good thing to have!

It probably saved our lives, yes. But it existing means mana burn exists to need resisting.

Buffed up or exploded? There are shouts and things in the distance. Or maybe they're buffed up but going berserk (as red spells often do to targets)?

It is such that Guiche, of the line of de Gramont, looks around the courtyard, at the craters and giant boulders formerly used as projectiles. The shattered ruin of a myrad of golden golems, and the corpse of the giant he was fighting with the aid of the surprisingly powerful Louise. He looks at the Acadamy, from which he can see flame flashing and continued combat. And verily, he says. "Hell no am I going in there."

And so he doth brandish his Rose-Wand, summoning up what defending constructs as he can, and details two of them to carry the ladies fair, while the others defend him and said ladies. And then he beats his feat to seek aid at the local guard post, where he and the girls are received with surprise, some disbelief, and then dawning horror when the pair of infantry the Sargent sends out to take a look at things hastily comes back and reports...

It's around then when Guiche finally comes off his Adrenalin rush and decides he needs to sleep now, as news of the event is given swift wings to those who listen to such things, and drugged students, staff, and teachers awaken...

But from which viewpoint shall the results be watched?
