I have a better idea. Once Las gets his promotion, he has his engineers crawl over a Harrower to see everything that makes it tick and design a modern Star Destroyer based off of the battlecruiser (ie has a spinal super-laser itself). Then slowly start producing these things so when the warlord era breaks out, he has such a brutal gun line that even Star Dreadnaughts like the Executor can't survive.

A properly equipped Fury (Sith Player Character Ships) would probably run circles around most modern Ships. Heck even a beginner class would likely be a complete nightmare to fight.

Mostly because ironically an Empire ruled by multiple Sith Lords actually cared more about their subjects than Sidious who just wanted to increase the suffering in the galaxy.

To be fair. The Tie is an economist's wet dream. It is such a simple and inexpensive fighter to produce and maintain that it is the ideal choice for a military that now has to effectively cover vast amounts of space.

God damn. She wanted a fuckin fleet.

After looking the list over, and sighing in exasperation more times than I think is healthy, I make a decision. Or half of one, at least.

The Gladiator-Class Star Destroyer was the only one on this list that I was convinced was actually viable here. While the Vindicator was a good ship, it was more geared towards brawling rather than towards anti-piracy. Same with the ISDs, not to mention that getting an Interdictor would be basically impossible considering the fact that they're fairly new. Surprised she didn't just ask for the fucking ExecutorI. Cool name though. Very badass. If only its owner wasn't such a massive ass.

Gladiators, on the other hand, were much better for that. They had longer range capabilities, meaning that they could lock down entire systems for up to two years with the supplies they had. All things considered, they had the best chance to combat the pirate threat by simultaneously having good firepower, large hangar capacity, and long range. They're versatility also meant that it would be viable for system defense even after this whole debacle was over. It might even allow for an attempt on the jungle hellhole that is Minda 2.

Now, I just had to choose what other ships would fit into this anti-pirate flotilla. The system defense fleet would have to stay behind, it was already stretched thin dealing with the myriad of pirate attacks, so I would need a versatile flotilla that could center around a Gladiator, but also not get Imperial High Command on my ass for buying a shit ton of capital ships and the like.

As I was considering how to burn my hard earned tax credits(my soul weeps) I received a ding on my terminal.

------------------------------------Hi there folks! Good news! I finally got my shit together and made a real plan. Evey chapter before this had basically been me flying by the seat of my pants and hoping to god it would all work out. But now, I have an actual plan! I drew a timeline of events and characters and twists and everything for this arc, which I'm calling the Pirate King Arc(no relation to one piece). Obviously, I won't be revealing the plans for this arc, but suffice to say that this chapter was a big set up chapter for the rest of the arc.
in class. Please keep in mind that the budget Las is working with is around 40 Mil after buying the Gladiator. Fan designs are welcome.

Considering the 40 million credit budget to make the escort fleet to go with a gladiator which has a class one hyperdrive.

(1 already budgeted gladiator class Star destroyer)
4 crusader class corvettes (class 1 hyperdrives 5 mil new, half used)
4 carrack class light cruiser(class 1 hyperdrives, tie external racks 4 fighters per ship approx <=5mil due to used clone war vessels and arquitens being 5 mill new)
(If not maxing out both previous types to max budget.
1 quasar class for that extra carrier capability 1.7million class 2 hyperdrive

I recommend 2-4 crusader class corvettes (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Crusader-class_corvette?so=search) as they are the best combat Corvette for its weight class and time of design. It pays for that at a 5 million credit new price tag. But will take out any Starfighter and even kill other corvettes because it's anti Starfighter Armaments were so over designed it can do that too. A class one hyperdrive, super fast sublight speed for pursuit and even point defense that takes put proton torpedos a d missiles makes this the deadliest Corvette of the era if you can afford it. Rebels won't use this because it won't blend in with civilian craft like a cr90 but the entire Corvette line survived the imperial navy not bankrolling it because PDFs and system patrols bought up these gems. (And some crime syndicates but potato tomato)
The carrack class (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Carrack-class_light_cruiser/Legends?so=search) has class one hyperdrives and massive engines to pursue smaller craft and escape anything it can't outgun anti ship and anti starfighter armament loadouts. Ship racks for 4 tie fighters (tie defenders, interceptors, could use this later too!) this ship is a flying brick with enough engines to make racing craft envious and durable enough to fight bigger ships in packs. combined with the crusader Corvettes and gladiator flagship all three can use class one hyperdrives and not slow down for slower class 2 drives most imperial ships use like the imperial or quasar, tartan, etc. the quasar craft could be added but only has a class 2 so you'll either slow down for it or refit it if you grab it. But the carrack racks and gladiator hanger should provide a decent amount of starfighters for the small system fleet of piracy fighting and the crusaders are such little anti starfighter terrors with fast intercept speeds that any lack in starfighter numerical superiority will be well compensated for with them around. (24 starfighters+8-16 from carracks depending on number loadout)

z-95s aren't the best but a sufficiently upgraded one will be good enough with better defense than basic TIEs, i doubt he could buy or request tie defenders or even interceptors but they would be nice to replace the basic TIEs. Not to mention a single squadron would give a nice edge to have. The TIE defenders (300k new eventually 60k used) (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/TIE/d_"Defender"_Multi-Role_Starfighter?so=search) have shields hyperdrives life support and are the best starfighter in 1-1 combat for like a century in legends, barring that, I'd suggest starvipers (165k new)(https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/StarViper_Mk._II?so=search ) for close alternative to defenders as high quality fighters you might buy, and z-95s (60k new 45k used) for cheap reliable and upgradable alternatives)the m3-a syck interceptor at 50k is alright too on cheap fighters. obviously a tie defender is hard to justify when you can outfit a squadron(12) of z-95s ( https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Z-95_Headhunter/Legends) As 2 defenders so it really becomes a question of how much money to spend on each craft to protect you pilots? Availability? And how well you can maintain them which is why i did not suggest ARC-170s as they'd be high maintenance despite otherwise being a great fit for outer rim scouting and patrol

It's not just that Palpatine wanted more suffering in the galaxy which he did, Palpatine imposed a Sith culture and environment on the Empire as a whole.

Like both Empires are similar where gaining of personal power is the ultimate goal of its members where as in the Sith Empire that usually meant power in the force, where as with Palpatines it meant gathering wealth/military/political power with Palpatine deliberately keeping any force users as weak as possible giving them only leftover table scraps of knowledge, for those in the Inquisitorius and I don't want to even talk about those in the Saber program or shadow guards.

Also I don't know where you got that the Sith Lords cared about there subjects, like yea there where some like Marr that were more pragmatic the others but the majority saw there non force subjects as tools nothing more and any failure was met with brutal punishment or painful death.

Perhaps this was already answered, but I have to ask: she had him appointed as a governor of a no-name, nothing system. How would she be able to force him to be a Trooper? He was kicked out of the academy, so wouldn't the Imperial Forces have no claim to him? Or is there some weird 'forced conscription' thing going on here? What claim does the Empire have on him? Because there have been plenty that washed out of Imperial Academies that weren't hunted down/forced into being a Trooper (wasn't Han Solo an example of that?).

It seems to me that the Sith in the past at least recognized that to advance their goals required additional human resources, meaning they couldn't be too wasteful with their people vs Papa Palpatine who had nobody left to challenge him forcing him to keep his urges in order...honestly dude is probably pretty bored since he attained his goals.

So like most of the Republic Nobility as well. The Republic and the Sith Empire were incredibly similar despite how they presented themselves. The only difference was that The Space Wizards ruled the Empire.

This is arguable mostly because even by the Time of Bane Sith "Culture" was changed greatly from what it was. The Brotherhood from what I could tell acted less like an Empire and more like a Hoard of Marauders.

Yea but most of those drops outside weren't the son of one of Tarkins top subordinates and the mc falling is a black mark on an otherwise noticeable family.

Like the mc getting the position was likey due to his mom pulling strings with Tarkin as an last opportunity type situation which Tarkin would probably go for as either the boy makes the most of this opportunity or he will be dealt with.
 
Just as a Question, did everybody in the empire decide to toss the over qualify people, that because reason, they need to send them some place were they don't do a thing and probably fail. Just so that the system now has all the Best of the Best to just Start doing their own shiet together ?
 
But why do you all insist that it should be Las and Minda to deal with the pirates on their own? As was already pointed out Admiral Wasti is ignoring pirates in a big chunk of the sector.
What Las should do is to contact other local planetary governors to pool together their resorces. Even if all other worlds can't spare nothing more than a corvette each that would be enough for Las to need to buy himself only the bigger ships.

Besides I think that it would be much better if pirates were defeated by a cooperation of few diffrent governors just before admiral was ready to strike himself.

That's why they should be remote controlled or have droid brains. NO pilots to put in harms way.
 
Okay yeah. Seems like getting a lot more blast boats is where the system defense needs. Unlike the navy who always want bigger ships. The emperor navy has a big gun syndrome. Which really doesn't help with there mission. Protecting the system.
Reminds me of the german navy during ww1 and ww2. They focused so much on having the biggest guns and biggest coolest ships of the wall they ended up just staying in port almost the entire war. Instead of lots of smaller ships to protect there coast.

Not saying big ships don't have there place. It just that pitched battles with rebels doesn't happen for a few years. Killing them before the rebels and scum run is better than letting them run and build numbers.

The capitol building had undergone renovations once again, because apparently according to just about all my staff, it has to be the tallest building in the city, bar none.

This is starting to feel like CimSity or something - everything gets built almost instantly. While that sort of high-speed construction is theoretically possible in SW, it sounds like it would be very expensive. Too expensive for such a new system. Maybe if the system had tens of millions of people then this would make sense, but the population is still tiny. They can't produce enough profit to account for this much construction this quickly.

I am not sure this makes sense - this is becoming a fairly large fleet for a very small system that is producing relatively little profit. 400k people may be a moderately sized city on Earth, but in SW it is the equivalent of a gas station and a couple of houses in the middle of nowhere. Why is there a large biker gang scoping out the place and planning to do the equivalent of a major jewel heist?

Unless the people of this system are mining spice on the planet, I don't think it makes sense for a pirate fleet large enough to warrant a Star Destroyer in addition to all the other cruisers and such. The planet and the system should have little material that they would want to steal - certainly not enough for a fleet large enough to threaten it. If there is not enough expensive and compact stuff that they can load up quickly and then sell for a significant amount of money, then there is not enough potential profit for this many pirates to bother with. That's why Pottery Barn never gets held up - because thieves are unlikely to try to steal and run away with an expensive couch.

For that matter, they have only three or four different points in the system that they really need to protect - the asteroid base, the planet, and maybe a few other mining outposts. A relatively small internal fleet should be plenty for the amount of attention this system warrants. They can micro-jump within the system quickly enough to cover any of these locations. Especially if they sit somewhere where they have a straight shot to every facility - e.g. high above the ecliptic.

As an earlier commenter said isb might pay a visit if he creates a drone army. Also, on how much income and pay he is having. My thoughts on the situation is that because he has a low number of people right now. Who are producing quite a lot. He able to spend well above other planetary governors. He is currently more effective than many other systems and he not just hoarding money. He spending it. Most governors hoard and don't trust there security because no one else is as clever as them. Gas stations actually make quite a bit of money. It might be all small bills. However they come in fast and often.
 
4 Arquitens class cruisers (4 million each), 4 Tartan class corvettes (4.2 million each), and 16 Guardian class light cruisers (split between the two variants, 80,000 each). You have numbers, speed, some additional fighter space, and a mixture of heavy, anti-escort, and anti-fighter weaponry. All split amongst ships that can be made into all manner of individual task forces or be one powerful fleet.
