What's with the locked topics at SB?

Arankor's To Rule quest was locked as well. It displeases me.

 

Well facehugger mention that he got no idea as for why those where locked.

 

uh, maybe one of the other mods is experimenting with a way to cut down on lag?

 

or made a mistake as someone reported them for being overlengh *shrug*

 

SuperS4 justanswered that they apparently don't know why it happenned and they are going to try and fix it.

 

Well, that's a weird possible abuse of power by one of the mods.
However, I'm sure it was a mistake.

 

On the bright side a sudden loss in faith of SB will be good for this site.

 

As if the horrible amount of lag wasn't already doing that.

 

Funny enough, we only got a handful of people from that.

Like, I haven't seen more then a half dopen new ppl since the lag got bad, and they're all for rihaku quest.

 

Somewhat irritated that Thanatos apparently just decided to do this at random, without telling anyone what he was doing or why (including his fellow mods).

Still, I can kind of see the point. Lag has gotten worse over time, even with the 200 page limit.

 

That seems incredibly random, locking them without any sort of warning or explaination. And impairing the ability to link to new threads. Also has crossover pics been locked? It's much worse than any other thread.

 

And they just locked Mizuki's Canonfodder in CrW.

 

Can you guys tell me where this is happening because the thread by Super S4 in BROB just vanished for some reason.

Thanatos just posted a thread in CrW 10 minutes ago. He's experimenting with the lag issue, heres the post:

Hmm, doesn't seem to be reducing lag.

 

Well, the lag still sucks although maybe not AS bad is it can be, but I'm not sure this counts as a significant improvement because I'm still refreshing the same pages multiple times to get it to work.

also i think this proves it has very little to do with posts, and thus BROB/CrW.

 

Sometimes! At one point I actually loaded multiple pages of topics and they loaded in seconds. I was annoyed, because I'd been trying to get Killer for Hire to reload so I could see if my post got through.

I normally just select or reload a page and then go do something else until it finally loads.

 

Same. Often several pages and hope one sticks while I read something non-laggy. Or open the same page several times if I really want to read what's there.

Opening a page without targeting a specific post also seems to help.

 

How do you figure that? I mean i'm not implying that the server isn't bad, but just the dismissal that the threads could contribute to it.

Why? I mean, the threads on there are somewhat of a drop in bucket for BROB.

 

I thought it would help because Xenofor is loading the whole thread when you open a page of it instead of only loading that page? At least if I remember it right.
