    There's your problem.
Try moving it up, and putting a non spoilered header in colored bold like so:
    Da F.A.Q.
    Q: I heard yo' homeboy P-zizzle has a Mantle. What's a Mantle, dawg?
A: Something from Dresden Files that does not exist in this story.

And help it stand out more.
Well, he was officially neutral between the two belligerents. But when a outside neutral power organises/hosts a peace conference and someone attacks it? That usually ends up with them antagonistic towards whoever shat on the party they were throwing, as a matter of policy and self preservation.

I mean Grayven has his own personal lantern corps. He has probably enough Lantern Corpsmen under his command to send some to each and every Martian city on the planet at the same time, have them lift those underground cities into the sky simultaneously, turn them upside down, and then put them back in that upside down orientation. Just to swing his dick around and prove he has that kind of power. Because Martians being racist and other Martians attacking them because they are racist, not his problem. Martians attacking a meeting that he helped everyone get to, that he is present it? That is a direct attack on his reputation, and a problem for him.

I don't know. That is certainly a valid way to look at it. Another is both the Planetary Government and Hyperclan attacked a peace conference Grayven was involved with. Considering those to have cancelled themselves out and washing your hands of both of them is also a valid response. Especially with a side of "Anyone who is tired of the genocidal bloodbath that is the Martian Civil War is welcome on Planet Grayven New Mars, where neither the racist Reds or the Bloodthirsty Whites are in charge of the government. I am."

I am sadly way behind on my Girl Genius (probably a couple volumes by now at least), but this reminds me of a very good rant from that comic.
That is the one. The third link is the exact one this reminded me of. Thanks Prince.

How many times has he been mentioned? Unlike many of the revelations in season 3, changing a rarely occurring character's name to match canon is an easy fix. No in story retcons needed, just find and replace on a word.

I read a book a while ago where the difference between 'prejudice' and 'prejudgement' was a plot point. 'Prejudice' means an inclination to believe a certain thing or behave in a certain way, while 'prejudgement' means that a person always will.

For example, a ancient Greek jurist who strongly disliked foreigners might want to rule against them whenever he could. But when presented with a particular case where numerous citizens gave one foreigner glowing character references, he might find in the foreigner's favour despite his prejudices because there was no justification for not doing so. Whereas if he had prejudged the case, he would still rule against the foreigner.
They aren't ever called that in the relevant comic, but basically.
I'd totally forgotten about that. Thank you for the reminder.
It's not just the name. His character is radically different as well.

You are welcome. It's a good comic, but it's long enough that catching up can be a real time-sink.

Had not read that, but it makes sense. Knowing SV.com, I suggest that some of the mods did literally prejudge you, though.

OK. I thought they seemed familiar, and the comic was probably published after D&D kobolds were presented, so it may have been an intentional reference, rather than a coincidence.

The super family is getting larger, as i said this is the perfect opportunity to have Hinon invite a delegation from the JL/earth, so that they can show up on Paul space adventures.

Zatanna gets invited for her experience using the love rock, Robin, Supergirl, Match, Martian Man hunter as their adult leader, etc.

Martian man hunter would be there in behalf of his government (that had mother of mercy restart Mars core) as a follow-up to the burner martian that was sent to the controllers by Paul.

Zatanna would be there as a catalyst to enable communications with Zamarron and as a case study for Hinon (Zatanna would go to be closer to Paul).

Supergirl and Match would be there to get used to their powers in a safer place than earth and also to explore the cosmos as they are both a tad bored on earth.

Robin would be there because Batman wants to know how the guys with a planet sized lantern on the solar system think and his experience with Paul isn't enough so Batman would require more first hand info.

You can probably throw a green lantern as an escort too.

    Tldr.

I want earth characters to be more involved in Paul space adventures because his adventures in space are more interesting on the overall, but people start to complain when their favorite characters stop showing off and its been a while since Robin was in the spot light.

One popped into this thread to admit it, so yes. My problem is the disproportionality of the punishment. Like... I regard the rule against spaghetti posting as unnecessary, but I know it exists so I'd try and follow it. There isn't anything particularly wrong with responding to discussion points individually, but I'd agreed to follow the rules on a forum where I knew that ban existed. I didn't remember that 'don't be hateful' covered activities I don't consider hateful. I don't feel bad for what I did in breaking the rule, but if I'd remembered that it was against the rules I wouldn't have broken the rule. Once I checked and saw the rule, I wasn't happy, but punishment for breaking it isn't unreasonable.

Now I've got counsellors telling me that I wasn't punished for misgendering someone (as I was told by the person who took my appeal, and as I accept that -by their standards of such things- I did) but for using the helicopter meme. I personally consider the meme to be legitimate satire; taking something people to do a logically consistent but ridiculous conclusion. After all, if it is personal opinion and not objective physical reality which determines what a thing is, why not a helicopter? But whatever, it was a day.

I have now been banned for a month and a half for saying that the rules don't protect people who want to become helicopters. Which they objectively don't. I have counsellors telling me that they want me banned permanently for being, what any reasonable person would say, was a bit lippy. And I realise that I'm starting to sound like late-career... Darn, can't remember his name. A US comedian who got stalked by the CIA and his stand-ups became just reporting all the stuff the government was doing to him, more tragic than funny. Sorry about that. But this is really... Stupid.

So if you ever wonder why no black members of the Legion go bicycle riding with Lynne, now you know.

Ah yes, the old "we will infract you for one thing and then when you are in the middle of disputing it tell you you were infracted for something else entirely" that many moderators pull so you can't successfully dispute their infraction.

Getting dangerously close to politics here, but I'll avoid arguing a specific side here.
I always saw the initial bad as obviously due to the helicopter reference, which absolutely makes you look like a bigot given the context of the origin. Calling the helicopter argument "satire" is illustrative, as satire exists to mock, and the position being mocked is definitionally being trans, according to trans people, who are, you know, the ones making the rules. They should know.
Black people can say "you can't say the N-word, because that is hurtful", and you can then argue about whether that makes sense or if that's helpful or whatever. You can't just say "yes I can, n*gger", and expect people to take from that that that you were demonstrating the literal ability, not that you were, for example, demonstrating their lack of ability to punish you for being racist.
Basically, if someone's accusing you of being bigoted, give them the benefit of the doubt. That means, take care to avoid things which are claimed to be bigoted, apologise and disavow if you accidentally do, and generally try to demonstrate a measure of basic empathy. It doesn't matter if they are wrong, if you don't make good faith effort to communicate, you are the bad guy.
And don't take parting shots calling them all idiots, you idiot!

Of course, one could argue that Cheshire-16-WTR is a bit more likely to be bi based on how, when OL was in the Chinese-dominated universe, she seemed rather enthusiastic about the possibility of getting him into a two-female threesome with his superior (and damn my shoddy memory for not remember her name!)...

No, absolutely not. If someone's accusing you of being bigoted, stop paying attention to their opinion as they are almost certainly not worth the energy to talk to.

Now, if someone identifies what you have said as offensive, give that claim the benefit of the doubt. But making the jump from "that's offensive" to "you're a bigot"... you just found either an idiot or a fascist. Either way, no.

That's... actually not bigotry. Racist, extremely, but the definition of bigotry is:

Well, I guess unless you say being Jewish is a opinion, but normally it's considered a race. But generally, bigotry is actually fairly specific and quite a few people that you think would qualify, don't.

Also, is this politics? I mean technically it's linguistics, but I still feel like it's related here.

Ah, it's the League of One dragon. I really should have noticed it when we saw the Pointy Gnomes. For those who don't know this is one of those weird graphic novels that are of dubious continuity. Not quite an Elseworld, but not quite canon either. Within this story, there's a prophecy of doom, an evil Dragon with mutagenic fire breath, and divers other players and plot points, including but not limited to Giant Robots.

Given this is in the context of "how do I get these people to listen to me", that's probably not a great tactic. In fact, not paying attention to them is kind of the problem.

It's easy to be offensive. Adam Sandler is offensive. Bigotry is harder, and has far worse effects. And that's as far as I I'm willing to go here.

Literally anyone can convert to Judaism, it's not a race, it's an opinion on divinity. So yeah, you can tell if someone is bigoted based on one sentence.

    Also: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bigot

Not the best definition you offered, it's a lot broader than that.

    Hmm, that's actually weird, it seems to be a bit split;

Oxford, which seems to be the one that Google uses in this case - "a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions."

dictionary.com gives several similar ones from different sources:
their own published dictionary - "a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion."
Collins English Dictionary (2012) - "a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or race"; checking their website gives a very similar definition.

vocabulary.com states that it's essentially synonymous with "racist" - "A bigot is someone who doesn't tolerate people of different races or religions."

Cambridge Dictionary - "a person who has strong, unreasonable ideas, esp. about race or religion, and who thinks anyone who does not have the same beliefs is wrong"

It definitely seems split; most agree that it's someone who is intolerant of something, but what specifically, and to what degree, varies a lot. I haven't actually seen a word with this much contention between definitions, that's pretty interesting. Personally, I'd take that to mean that current usage of the word is pretty flexible, so people are having a hard time nailing down a exact definition when asked to.
