    But more seriously, if she doesn't have her Plot Shield by virtue of her no longuer being the protag, shouldn't that mean that the universe no longer has to tie itslef into knot for the sole purpose of making her life more tragic for the purpose of improving the plot ?

    It annoys me when authors go all "X no longer has Plot Shield and isn't vitaly important anymore, honest !" and then turn right around and inflict tragedy after tragedy to the poor fucker for no/really contrived reasons. It's far too close to Bashing.

    We're playing a character who's actions do center around said protagonist, and given the name of the quest it's obvious what said actions are. The no Plot Shields just means that Hebert's stuck being worthless trash because lolpecking order.
