Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

I don't think that's a sure thing as I believe some Imperial's used destoryer droids as additional security.

And depending on what the mc is using the droids for and how many they may not care that much though a note may be placed in his file

It honestly depends on how close he is to the core or to locations of major battles during the Clone wars. The closer he is to those, the more politically and socially unacceptable using those droids becomes due to the way elitist core worlds imperials perceive it and how the common people that suffered the droid occupations perceive it. Though If he only uses them for things like mining in isolated regions or in space where they are out of sight out of mind, then it probably wouldn't matter to anyone, even in the core.

And how much of a stick in the mud the specific inspectors that his mom sends to check him out are when they go over his actions, of course.

Honestly forgot about that, but the B1 droids would probably be a bad idea politically because using them may get him on the radar of the ISB or imperial intelligence so he should find a different design to use, even if he uses the same hardware and production lines... so mabie if there is an old public domain droid type he could have the some mechanics alter to use the internal components of the B1 and claim it's a different droid. Even if he just changes the shape of the outer shell it will be a whole lot of help for him. Edit: I was thinking of the sentinel droids from kotor

Though I guess that having the his droid foundries would help in that the B1s were used for construction work so they had the programming to do it, the governor just needs to find slicers capable of rewriting the loyalty commands on the droid programming templates.

Also for boarding actions, a droid made to carry a big shield as mobile cover is probably the best option.

Though it may be a bad idea if he is also bringing in clone servicemen to make a clone retirement community as they may respond poorly.
I was referring more towards using the naval and worker models than the waste of resources that are the B1. Imperial intel won't care how a rebel dies, as long as they don't try to use them to attack other imperial units or publicize their use.

Aren't most of the cis worker droids just variation models of the B1 with different load outs and programming templates? That's how I always remember it being presented.

I believe in chapter 1 it's said that Minda 3 which mc is in charge of is in the Outer Rim which fits with what we know of the system, but when it comes to where the outer rim like which sector it's in I have no idea.

But with it being in the outer rim gives the mc a bit of leeway

Preferably worker droids would fully opposable limbs and have a similar enough stature to humans to be able to use standardised equipment and tools.
So with that in mind I suggest using BX series Commando droids.
As for costs a single BX is around 5 - 10 times the cost of a B1 but thats for a fully armed BX if Las removes the armor, downgrades the programming and effectively makes it a flexible more advanced B1 then I could see the cost dropping to around3 - 5 times the cost of a B1.
If theres any flaws you see speak up.

Omake-1 New
Omake

Scene opens. MC is in bed recovering from magic space flu. Doors are thrown open and Darna rushes in with what seems to be half the stormtroopers and several of her aides.

Darna, "Governor, we have to get you to the secure bunker. Right now!"

MC, "Darna?.. What's going on?"

Darna, "No time to explain you may be in danger."

MC, "Say no more!" throws off the remaining sickness and quickly leaves with the guards.

Scene closes.

Next scene opens into a very active command and control bunker underneath the Air Traffic Control tower.

MC, "Alright, now that I am here, what is going on?"

Garrison Commander, "Governor, we are in the process of locking down the system and grounding all traffic until the fleet arrives. Their ETA is within the next 30 minutes."

Darna, "No worries, we are well protected here until then."

Commodore of the fleet, "Governor, I am pleased to report that we have activated the reserves and are in the process of launching our fighter and bombers. The various mining operations have been informed of the situation and ordered to remain grounded at their current locations until after the fleet arrives."

MC slowly looks around, "This is all very interesting but no one has yet to inform me what is going on!!"

Command staff looks around at one another, finally Darna steps forward. "Governor, we received the emergency communication one hour ago from the Imperial Prateorian Guard. The Emperor is dead, along with Lord Vader, all of the Grand Moffs, Moffs, and planetary governors, who were attending a ball on the Death Star. Per Imperial Contengency Order No. 69, Imperial Succession Lists, you are the next highest ranking civilian authority left." Darna kneels, "The Emperor is dead. Long Live the Emperor!" Entire command staff repeats gesture, exclaiming, "The Emperor is dead. Long Live the Emperor!"

MC sort of just stands there in shock. Then rallies, "Very well, if this is the will of the people. Then I have no choice but to answer this unlooked for call."

In the background, Sensor operator calls out, "Emperor, the fleet has arrived!" Cue cut away to the holoprojector showing arrival of the Sector Fleet and Death Squadron with the Executor at the head.

MC, "Contact the Fleet, we have work to do." Close up of MC's face (Chiseled Jaw Line) showing steely determination and resolve for what is to come.

Excerpt from "Rise and Fall of the Republic, Empire, and back to the Republic" Holovid. A dramatic historical reenactment of the True Story of the life of the Emperor from his humble origins on Corusant to his eventual death at the venerable age of 122. He stewarded the Empire after the death of the beloved Emperor Palpatine and the subsequent police actions taken to bring stability to a galaxy teetering on the edge of full scale war again.

Also, the Imperial Archivists would like us to remind our viewers that at no time did the Emperor's mother threaten to send him to the infantry if he didn't accept the position, do a good job as Emperor, and make progress in the next two years toward stability and prosperity. That is strictly propaganda used by his detractors.

Joining us today to discuss this important time is Dr….
(Rest is for you to fill in and add to the next scene of the Omake).

Unfortunately that's a risk he'll have to take, as the mc is still subject to Imperial politics, especially with his mother and sisters being such notable figures, he'll need all the advantages he can get, cause as his system becomes more profitable that'll get the attention of other Imperial governors and moffs.

Well this is fun so far. Only recurring issue I've noticed is the over-use of apostrophes. Sticking a " 's " at the end if a word is always to show ownership (i.e. "The miner's pickaxe") or to show a contraction where two words have been mashed together and at least one letter has been dropped (i.e. "That is" becomes "That's"). It is never used to show plurality. Any time you're just trying to indicate that there is more than one of something, there should be no apostrophe there.

Damn, never knew that. I've been an avid reader for years, and still the intricacies of my first language escape me at times. Thanks for the heads up.

Somehow I get the funny feeling that our MC is the type of person to awkwardly stumble head-first and faceplant into radiant glory and unabashed adoration from everyone around him, like a Star-Wars-version of Justy Ueki Taylor.

Using the droid manufacturing plants which were on the CIS ships, the MC could buy some IP from say Duwani (they supposedly went out of business before the end of the Clone Wars) and start building T-series astromechs, Mining/refining droids, construction droids, etc. Sure the Duwani droids will be older designs and maybe not as efficient, but, droids labourers are better ideas than slaves. Having lots of droids doing stuff should make the star system more profitable, at least from exporting goods POV. Having more construction and astromech droids building orbital spacedock / refit stations should make his system more attractive when the Galactic civil war goes very hot. Just imagine his older sister with the ISD dropping by to get resupplied / repairs, along with any other smaller ships in her battlegroup.

Maybe the MC could build some nice semi-tropical resorts on world near some large farms and a smallish spaceport. That would probably draw more Imperial military personnel dropping by the star system for some shore leave. Probably the only thing the MC would need to import then would be some pretty girls to work at the resort. Darna might be able to help him get a line on lots of slave girls wanting freedom (Twi'lek, Zeltron, Togruta, Mirialan, etc). Buying their freedom and giving them work contracts for a few years as staff for the resort would probably give him a better reputation (PR gains with Rebel Alliance). Though from the MC's POV it's probably just good business sense to get some pretty girls to staff the resorts (cooks, waitresses, masseuses, medical staff, etc). Offering education programs and remote study certifications for various things like mechanics, medical training, etc should also help the poor, ex-slave girls put their lives together while they work. That a decent number of these ex-slave girls might decide to join the Rebel Alliance after their work contracts are up is just a bonus from the various Rebel cells' POV. Also that a decent number of these ex-slave girls might end up being very loyal to the MC personally, since he bought their freedom and just asked they do a work contract in exchange.

TftC!

This means the ship may have been there since the early clone wars and was evacuated because of its precarious position, but was later left out of reclamation efforts because there wasn't anything important onboard and it wasn't at a major hyperspace lanes or in a major battle with dozens or hundreds of wrecked warships. And the jedi was simply off the ship on a ground battle when the acclimator went down and never bothered to go back for his ship. It all fits, no need for a scary mind reader to show up out of nowhere to scare our governor give the inquisitors a reason to visit

Also offering a place for the clones to belong would raise him in the eyes of Darth Vader, cause he cared for his clones.
My bet is due to force fuckery Vader is going to notice the immense jump in prosperity and do what he does best when seeing immensely competent imperials stuck in dead ends and yoink the MC into his powerbase, by making the system one of the designated death squadron "secret" bases

Or Palps will choose it instead of the fuck off planet in the unknown regions/deep core as a fall back point.

Dudes gonna become a hive of rebel activity and won't even know it.
Pretty sure he would not care at all. Unless something(Murphy) changes events drastically, Palpy will die by Vader's hands with Luke as witness.

With the Clones having a place to call home. Vader 'Might' turn up to see how they are being treated. When that happens, the rebels would be as silent as the dead for a long as he is in the system.

I admit. I love this story so far. Imperial governor doing his best to avoid the Infantry, yes yes. All it needs is the realization that actions have consequences smacking him in the face and he woke up real quick to becoming a better governor!

Or at least i imagine thats what his sisters/mother will end up thinking.

Regardless! You have invited multiple minor companies in to start orbital mining, have a fairly major orbital refinery and Station set up for the miners to relax at without having to come all the way back to the planet.

You are setting up flyers offering possible land grants and job offers to Clones, who are all uh. Rather kicked to the curb by most everyone, bar the 501st survivors. So your gonna have Clones around and likely up to trouble.

And of course there were a pair of Munificents ready for salvage. Likely as not filled with thousands of B1's ready to be factory reset back to proper worker droids, which they all started out as. And for all they might be a bit stupid, they are good st doing the jobs assigned to them when they don't have to worry about getting shot at.

So on the one hand you have old clones. And on the other hand theres decent odds you'll have an ass ton of old droids ready for reprogramming and use, and even a possible intact droid manufactory from the Munificents.

Really, all of that and a major Rebel salvage and refit yard and i am just waiting for the first outside force coming in to poke the system. Fun times ahead!

Just something to keep in mind, logistics necessary to keep your military forces in the field.

According to estimates, it took roughly between 10 and 50 workers to keep a single infantryman supplied during World War II, depending on the theater of operations, logistical complexity, and the specific needs of the soldier, including factors like food, ammunition, medical supplies, and equipment.

Now considering just how much more stuff you have to work through now it's probably more, when you include droids.

Something most Authors can never grasp.

Milton Friedman's "I, Pencil." Which to summarize is:
"No one can build a pencil" means that no single person on Earth possesses all the knowledge and skills required to create a pencil from scratch, as it involves a complex network of specialized labor, materials, and processes across various industries, making it impossible for any one individual to produce a complete pencil alone; this phrase often refers to the concept of the "invisible hand" in economics, highlighting the power of collaboration and free market systems to produce complex goods."

Now scale this up to a galaxy wide economy with millions of more products and component parts. You start to see why most authors gloss over economic fundamentals and build ups outside of generalized statements.

Remember at the end of the day your logistical chain (basic good production, mining, manufacturing, transportation, training) will decide if you grand navy or army will last over any time frame. Parts, supply, repairs, foods, medicine, etc. all are needed. Now also important is to remember all these things take up space, workers, and their own resources and logistical chains. Have fun.

Unlikely, in the EU Palps chose the deep core since due to the artificial nature of the hyperlanes connecting it to the greater galaxy it was easier to control who got in and who got out and a massive colonization initiative was launched during the time of the empire making it a safeplace with a lot of resources both human & natural for building up his forces.
In new cannon Palps chose Exogol since it was a back up sith cult place that already had a lot of loyal underlings which allowed him to better control the remanants of the empire he took with himself.

Everything kinda made sense but then advertising for clones seems an obvious way to attract unwelcome attention.
Yes and kinda no simply because he already has attention on him at this point in the time period there is not much anyone can do directly against him and indirect actions are possible but for most messing with him would bring to much heat and just not be worth it in the grand scheme of things. He is an asset as his mother is in charge of the imperial academy on Eridau or however its spelled and is a high level goon of fucking Tarkin. Out of all his family he is the week link and it could probably be resesrched easily that the original before mc showed up was not very bright or in the know of much at all making him to hot for how little he would give.

Sure going for clones will raise eyebrows but at this point in the empire besides those in specialist roles they are defunct and basically waiting to die. So having a place with little to no worth (as of now) with a seemingly floundering nepo hired governor trying to recover a backwater system could be ideal to some imperials as the system would basically act like a dumping ground for clones. By this point the empire has pretty much squeezed out most of what they could from the clones in their eyes so probably wouldn't be seen as much more than a governor looking for some "disposable" assets to get his system running.

Chp-6: Immigration Easy! No Green Card Needed! New
Chp-6: Immigration Easy! No Green Card Needed!
For once, I am not coming to you from the safety of my office. Instead, I am standing in a refurbished LAAT gunship, one that had been repainted in Imperial colors.

The ship is flying fairly fast, the wind whipping across the bulkhead doors. We are enroute to the continent east of the main settlements, for the inauguration of the first real city there.

It has been a solid month since meeting with the entrepreneurs, and things were actually looking up. As jobs opened up on both the refinery station and across the planet, more and more colonists were streaming in, courtesy of the ad's we put out. Apparently, people had been asking if they could get a ride on the trade fleet to Minda even if they weren't clones, and with so much space, the captains had no reason to say no.

With all of that happening, the Minda system had seen an influx of nearly ten-thousand new people, with nearly two-thousand of those being clones. While the colonists had spread about the various towns and cities, a good portion flocked to a new factory being built by YewCast. After scouting was done, I had begun selling land to various companies and individuals on the other continents of Minda 3.

We had eventually decided that it was a good idea to actually name both Minda-3 and the continents within. Therefore, Minda-3 was now officially known as Ugea, the central capital continent, was called Shubeon, while the northern and eastern continents were Mukrix and Alhea respectively.

Alhea was found to have an abundance of metals in its mountains that, once refined, were useful in small electronic parts. YewCast had paid for a decent chunk of land around there for a factory and mining facility they wanted to build, in an attempt to consolidate their own supply-chain. I allowed it, on the condition that they helped with the setup of the city that was bound to spring up around there. And when the colonists came knocking, looking for work, there was a whole prebuilt city, ready for action.

In fact, once things had calmed down in the newly named city of Vrectin, I had let the people hold an election to determine their mayor for the next five years. It was a test-bed for introducing democracy to the people of the Minda system in slow doses. The hope was that, if I was able to ensure that the candidates were qualified, then these cities would be able to govern themselves, and sort out corruption themselves, therefore reducing the amount of paperwork I have to do.

After their first election, the new mayor had insisted that I come down and cut the ribbon of the Vrectin city hall, and have dinner with her and her wife.

So here I was, flying over to a cold shithole of four-thousand people, to cut a ribbon and politely decline dinner. Fuck.

At least the clones seemed to be doing well. In fact, the pilots of the LAAT that I was in were clones. The clones had taken fairly well to being treated like actual people once they arrived. Like the other colonists, they had been given tax cuts and the possibility of land grants/low interest loans to start businesses. The majority, however, fell right back into military positions. While some found their place in the army, or the system defense fleet, or as pilots, the majority wanted little to do with military conflicts. Those clones opted instead for joining the planetary police force. They patrolled streets, checked id at checkpoints, patrolled the roads between cities, and so on. There they fit right in, working in roles they were used to that didn't treat them like slaves or meat shields.

I am pulled from my musings to the pilots announcing our approach of the city. While the windows on the LAAT were small, I caught glimpses of cranes, smokestacks, and ferrocrete/pourstone roof's. The ship shuddered as it made its landing, and the doors swung open to show a stark black landing pad, rimmed with yellow warning markers that matched the color of the YewCast logo emblazoned on the ground.

As I stepped out, my personal guard encircling me and checking the area, I was met by a Pantoran women of about fifty years or so. She sported a beige suit with ash colored linings and a badge above her heart in the shape of an eight-pointed star, while the center held the Imperial insignia and aurebesh inscriptions for wisdom, leadership, loyalty, surrounding the center. At the bottom of the badge was the simple title of Mayor of Vrectin. I had instituted these badges as simple identifiers. They weren't overly flashy, but there was only one per city, so they had to be symbolically passed down from mayor to mayor. The hope was that this would help ease tensions between candidates, like how U.S presidents used to welcome the new president into office when they lost the reelection campaign.

"Hello Governor, it's so nice to meet you, my name is…

At that point, I was just going through the motions. Shake hands, say pleasantries, walk, shake hands, etc… as I met with the mayor and her staff whose names I couldn't be bothered to remember. My attention was primarily focused on the buildings as we stepped into a landspeeder and took a tour of the city.

The biggest was certainly the YewCast complex, towering over the rest of the town, situated further up the mountainside. The factory was large, and seemingly built into the mountain, while long tracks stretched further up to the various mining facilities, their trains sending materials and workers and other sorts up and down. The rest of the city was mostly drab in its construction, with boring grays and beiges of ferrocrete and pourstone being the primary colors.

The most interesting thing wasn't the city, but the people. Not only were there more non-humans here than in most other places, but everyone seemed to be utilizing a phone-like device.

It clearly isn't a smartphone, but something more like a PDA. Tablet-like, many were carrying them in arm-mounted holsters, or smaller versions slid into pockets. They were the first generation YewCast IntraLink PDA's, the big phone project that I had paid for.

The IntraLink was incredibly useful. It connected to the still growing planetary comms network so you could access your home/work terminal from afar(assuming you had the credentials), it had picture/recording features, and many of the basic functions you would expect out of a smartphone. The more advanced IntraLink/Av was more expensive, and the one that I held in my breast pocket, which came with an embedded holo-system for holo-calls/recordings. It could also expand to fit more things on screen, though I wouldn't be using it for long, as I had charged YewCast with making a military specific version in semi-secret(tighter lips, but not death-star secret). It would have better cyber-security and extra military specific-functions like tactical maps, easier connection to superiors, and more. I was hoping to expand production and see if I can't sell them to other governors or military commanders for that extra bit of cash.

Some people were even playing the games that were developed for it! Real gaming consoles and the like were still a way's off, but little mobile games were the start. The idea of course, being that since the Empire owns the communications system used to download things, people who make games will have to pay a tax to let people download the game, which means that they have to charge to buy the games, etc… Obviously the games currently available on the limited network are free, and work more as proof of concept for potential future companies, but it's a work in progress, and was fairly easy to implement at this level considering how much it might make in the future. The games market back on Earth was one of, if not the largest entertainment industry in the world, so imagine the profits on a galactic scale? Millions of loot boxes!!!

I'm once again pulled from my greed-filled musings as we finally land at City hall, I prepare to make a silly five minute speech and cut a ribbon.

I am so bored.

Just kill me.

Alvi Mola
Imperial Factory, Experimental Wing, Lothal

Alvi was bored. So bored, she had resorted to bouncing a rubber ball against the wall for the better part of an hour while she waited.

She had done incredibly well in all of her tests back home, and had served for two years as an ace TIE pilot on the borders of Hutt space. She had even gone on a joint mission with some of the aces from Lord Vader's personal Death Squadron. She was one of the best!

So, naturally, when she had been voluntold to test a new TIE prototype, she had been ecstatic! Few ever tried to innovate on the TIE design, because it was already well made and cost-effective, so to get to test state of the art TIE prototypes? It was a dream come true.

Problem is, ever since she got to Lothal, all she's done is sit in simulators and fill out surveys for weeks! Not even some R&R! Her hair had been stuck in the regulation tight bun, and she wanted to flaunt her signature pigtails, and it sucked. Not for the last time she felt envy for her siblings. Shal was the captain of an ISD, so she could style her hair however she wished on her ship, and Zyx was a spy, she probably changed clothes and hairstyles all the time.

Even Las probably got to choose his hairstyle, since he was a governor and all. She sighed, as her thoughts turned to the youngest and only boy of the family. Las and her had been inseparable during childhood, but had drifted apart during their time at the Eriadu Academy. He had struggled with the subjects, and was almost always in trouble for contradicting the teachers opinions, or questioning orders, all while she had shot ahead straight into the pilot program.

And the dressing down Mom gave him was horrific. She didn't say much, but the disappointment and disgust was visceral in a way only Commandant Mola could ever do. Las hadn't just been booted from the academy, he had been stuck as a governor on a backwater. While governor was a good position, to be the governor of an outer-rim system was basically asking to either stagnate or get killed by pirates. If that wasn't enough, he had to improve the system in real and tangible ways?

Honestly, it was horrible. Alvi understood why her mother had done it, Las couldn't stay at the academy, or anywhere where he could further bring shame to the Mola family. But to threaten him with infantry service? She shuddered. To fight in the Imperial Infantry front lines was to be part of an unstoppable force that would toss as many bodies into a pit just to walk over the corpses instead of going around. Of course, she would never publicly say this, as disparaging the Emperor's armed forces wasn't a good look, and she hadn't gotten this far without some understanding of etiquette.

As she sighed deeply once more, ruminating on the fate of her brother, her com bead blared static for a second, startling her. She answered as the rubber ball went flying across the room, bouncing all over the place.

"Squadron Commander Mola, report to testing bay 12-C immediately, be ready for testing"
"Understood, Squadron Commander Mola en route."

She quickly threw her flight suit on, but just as she put her helmet on, the rubber ball smacked into her cheek.

Rubbing the pain away, she put her helmet on and made her way out of the barracks.

Walking down the hallways, she passed a number of staff and droids, some of which gave her pitying looks as she passed. Clearly, they were worried she would die in testing. HA! As if, Alvi was one of the best!

With that self-assurance warming her chest, she entered the testing bay, only to pause in shock.

Before her, speaking with some officers and technicians, was a blue skinned Chiss man in a sharp white uniform. The badge on his chest indicated he was a Grand Admiral. And there was only one Chiss Grand Admiral in the Empire. As he turned to her, she did the only thing she could. She removed her helmet.

"Grand Admiral, Sir! Squadron Commander Alvi Mola, reporting for duty, Sir!" she saluted, a definite nervousness pervading her mind.

"At ease, Commander." He said in a deep, somewhat gravelly voice. It sent shivers up her spine, and not the good kind. "Just the person I was looking for"

He turned, and gestures for her to approach.

"I've seen your scores, Commander. Quite impressive. Top 10 at your academy, top 5 of those here. Tell me, why haven't you managed to make first place yet?"

Alvi was caught off guard for a moment. From a compliment to an insult? "...I like the TIE, sir, but it always felt… naked. I like a good adrenaline rush, don't get me wrong, but the standard TIE is wildly dangerous, and I've never felt like I could give the Empire my all with it as my fighter. I always performed better in the sims when flying ships like the old republic V-Wing, since I felt like it had more to give."

Thrawn seemed to study her face with his blood red eyes, staring into her soul. He smiled.

He then gestured down the hangar to a repulsorlift carrying in a ship. Her eyes widened, and a feral grin stretched across her face.

"Then commander, you will certainly be happy…

…with this."

Hi there folks, I'm back with another episode of man v.s bureaucracy. There is, as always, no winner!

Now I'd like to address some questions and concerns I've seen floating about, along with clarifying some things.

  1. The current year is 2BBY, specifically around the star wars equivalent of late march.
  2. While 15,000 may seem like a lot of troops, that's because it is. I have yet to properly work this fact into the story, but Minda is a backwater among backwater, and troops/officers/companies that were either shit at their jobs, or pissed off the wrong nepo-baby got sent to Minda, amongst other places. It's the dead end station of the Myto sector.
  3. I don't think I made this clear in the last chapter, but Las does not know that Darna has rebel sympathies, or that the scrapyard is a rebel run operation. For all that he is fairly intelligent and business minded, this spy shit is new to him. If he had known, he would have denied their request because rebels means attention which is exactly the kind of thing he wants to avoid, which also leads well into the next point.
  4. Las is neither rich nor ambitious. While a lot of you have given great points, from Gladiator's to turning Minda 2 into a training ground for stealth troopers, or Academies, and so on and so forth, fact remains that Las doesn't have the cash or will to do that. All the initial investments in mining, stations, refineries, and the like are all gambles, where he tosses a lot of money, and rolls the dice to see if he gets a great return(which he so far has) but he knows this isn't sustainable, and now that things are evening out, he's gonna start slowing down. Even if he does get to that level of richness, it's not likely he'll invest into such resource and attention heavy projects like those would bring him. His goal is make the system decent, pass his mother's inspection, then either huddle down in Minda, or if things start looking bad, have a decent escape ship and plan ready and waiting. Tatooine is lovely this time of year, right?

That aside, it's been a pleasure. Any feedback on writing, lore, or ways the story could move forward are, as always, greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Minda is a backwater among backwater, huh? Well, while I am not expecting Minda to become the second "Eriadu", I look forward to seeing the standard of living for the star system go up to making it decently attractive of a destination in the Outer Rim. It would certainly be interesting to see the system, with its gradually increasing prominence, become a point of contention between the Empire and the local Rebels (not sure if the wider Rebellion has been formed yet).

I don't think it ever changes in any significant way. Hutts still rule it, natives are violent xenophobes, scum of the galaxy come and go as often as sentients breathe, and sand always gets everywhere. I would advocate looking for a better planet to retire or disappear to if things ever go downhill.

Awesome chapter.
The games market back on Earth was one of, if not the largest entertainment industry in the world, so imagine the profits on a galactic scale? Millions of loot boxes!!!
What will it take to bring to life this: Helldivers 2: Star Wars Edition!!!

For the Super Empire!!!
The Second Galactic Civil War rages on. On one side, against the resurgent Clankers, empowered by Eternal Fleet technology. On the other, the stupid insect Geonosians, who have mentally devolved themselves to become a flood of enemies under the control of an evil queen.

And from the shadows, returns an old threat....the Jedi.

"Then commander, you will certainly be happy…

…with this."
Huh...'looks at the factory being made at SI's home'

Maybe in this timeline, if the fuel depot is blown up again; Thrawn can move the Defender factory to Ugea.

Before or after telling Vader that Obi-Wan is there?
