If arachne have right parts, obviously, they aren't generally more dangerous than vampires, gumiho or whatever others have as avatars.
 
Having owned a tarantula, I am an expert in giving scritches to spiders. I suspect this shall be useful.

First- I'll need a live cricket. A really, really big cricket. Hmm. My neighbor's beagle should work. Much like a cricket, it's brown, eats shit, and will never shut the fuck up.

Second- start with the upper arc of the abdomen. Give her a minute to get used to the touch, be gentle, don't go near her meal.

Third- work up, but don't touch the thorax 'till she's done eating.

Fourth- use experience and apply theory to develop a feel for the results of touching things that I wouldn't touch and/or don't exist on a spider.

Five- Scratch "redhead" and "sapient interspecies" off my bucket list.

Not really, I don't swing that way, but I wouldn't mind going bar hopping with him...
 
I'd certainly be tempted to, but the legs seem too similar to the types of spider that give me an ohgodwhy reaction.
