So if I'm reading it right, Lineage would basically be the 'core' concept that represents our family's powers?
Not your family's per say. Lineages vary, that's why they're classified broadly by purity instead. More notable cases are more consistent thematically (ie. A Clan that has Lineages with a theme of 'swords'.)
Reflecting a particular family or bloodline takes significantly more effort to do and is fairly/relatively hard to pull off. I will note, OOCly, there is one notable case that stands out... I'll confirm OOCly if you find out IC.
And since we're not of Royal Blood, it can't be of 'Royal' class, correct?
You'd need High Standing to have it as an option if you went with Samurai or Clan, with differing point cost(s).
Ok, so here's my attempt number 3! If this doesn't work, then I'm just having trouble understanding how this system work and I'll just go to sleep and let someone else try instead.
I should reiterate since it wasn't clear, apparently.
1) Only Mixed Lineages and (Diluted) Pure Lineages can have certain Personal/Magic Skills as part of their raw composition.
2) Pure Lineages, otherwise,
never share the same effect, at least directly, that a field of magic covers.
3) Lineages in general can affect Affinity, Pure Lineages have even more varied possible Affinities when it affects it. Royalty quality Pure Lineages have... a bit different.
---3A) Lineage affected irregular Affinities (like Moonlight) function far better than if someone without a Lineage with a irregular Affinity in all cases. In some cases, the impact of a lack of a Lineage is very noticeable for that Affinity (like Moonlight).
4) Pure Lineages (all of them, including Diluted ones) basically have expanded options and free benefits. It's sort of like how Monsters have neat benefits over normal Humans.
---4A) Royalty quality Pure Lineages can be borderline downright unfair. The listed example is one such case. After all, that's merely
only the initial/core aspect.

Don't feel like voting atm, but if you guys insist, I'll bandwagon...but I decide what the MC looks like.
Also, feel free to use my points to get Instinct.
And for some reason, I kinda want to make a quick-cast Ritualism spell that functions like the DragonBlooded Charm known as Elemental Bolt/Burst Technique from Exalted. Possibru?
It's valid as a direct derivation from using Ritualism. As a Lineage, not on the effective scale you're looking for/wanting, that and certain conditions aren't present/possible to achieve to allow for it.
Theoretically yes it is possible for a Lineage however.
