    A medium between the Realm of the Living and the Realm of Spirits.

    By connecting themselves to spirits such as learning the skills and techniques of a Spirit within them. Not only that they can also ask the Spirits for advice, heal the sick, and gather the ghosts of the dead.

    Due to their ability to commune with Spirits, Shamans have been revered since ancient times.

    However once every 500 years, a tournament to declare the Shaman King is held. The Shaman King, most powerful of all Shamans, is often a messianic figure who can commune with the entity that Christianity refers to as God, the Great Spirit.

    The eve of the upcoming Shaman Fight is approaching. Strength, Will, Wisdom all of these and more are needed to become Shaman King.

    Train hard, learn about the world around you, and finally push beyond the boundaries which bind you.

      Onmyoudou-Divination: The art of using the spirits of Nature an Onmyoudou commands to divine the future and foresee disaster and opportunity. 99% Accuracy

      Onmyoudou-Demon Subjugation: The ability to subjugate and control unruly Demon's and Oni turning them in obedient Familiar Spirits.

      Onmyoudou-Elemental Wheel: Can use natural elements to augment the attacks of your oversoul or alter the nature of your attacks.

      Onmyoudou-Gouma Chouboku: A technique that is meant to subjugate rampaging Oni's and Shikigami's.

      Onmyoudou-Fumon Tonkou: A skill that renders most if not all Furyoku based attacks so long as the user maintains a calm demeanor and their foe does not.

      Onmyoudou-Jugon Zonshi: A skill that is used to keep chi from leaving the body to help restoration. Reduces the cost of Healing and Ressurection by half.

      General-Spirit Unity: A technique in which a Shaman lets a spirit in control of his or her own body. Current Skill gives a 100% chance of obtaining 100% Spirit Unity. +100% of learning skills from use of Spirit Unity.

      General-Oversoul: A technique in which a Shaman gives a Spirit a 'corporal' existence through the use of a medium. Can use Unity-type Oversouls. Can use Multiple Spirits or Multiple Mediums for an Oversoul. +50% of Spirits Physical Stats to Yoh's when using a Unity-type Oversoul.

      General-Shamanic Healing: Can heal the wounds of yourself and others. Costs 250-750(1/2) Furyoku depending on the wounds. Cost can be reduced through studying science.

      General-Resurrection: Can bring the recently deceased back to life. Costs 15000(1/2) Furyoku.

    • Reishi - Reading of the Hearts: An ability that permits the possessor to read the hearts and minds of others. Laying bare all sufferings and selfishness of those around the possessor. Cannot be turned off.

      Feel no Pain: Through great torture you have obtained the ability to shut off your pain receptors at will, allowing you to continue fighting no matter how agonizing a wound would be.

      Strength Rank 20: Reduced negatives from heavy/large packs and equipment

      Endurance Rank 40: Number of actions per round increased by 2(Max 5)

      Wisdom Rank 40: Wisdom multiplier is tripled when calculating Furyoku increases.

      Dexterity Rank 20: Less likely to be Ambushed.

    • Rules​

      1. High Rolls are good, low rolls are generally bad. I'll sometimes give multiple attempts to rolls, highest rolls are used. Also Nat 1's are critical failures and can stack, while a roll equaling 100+ is a Crit and can be stacked.

      2. Try and keep your posts legible.

      3. Omake's can give a boost to certain dice rolls, depending on the content of the omake.

      4. Skills tend to max at 100.

      5. You can roll Here​

    • Every 20 stat points equals some of the following effects listed below.

      20 Strength = Able to use heavier weapons/armors.
      20 Dexterity = Less likely to get successfully ambushed.
      20 Endurance = Bonus Action
      20 Intelligence = Bonus to Learning/Training
      20 Wisdom = Closer to Enlightenment/Better results from Furyoku training.

    I heard that in the anime the X-Laxs had different portrayals but not much else seeing as my shaman king manga knowledge comes only from tvtropes.

    You had known you had an older twin brother, despite your family's attempts to hide this fact.

    You will train to become a great shaman and diviner so you can find your brother and bring him home, so you both can enjoy family.

    Yet, you had to thank your ability to read the hearts of those around you for finding out about your brother. Without it you probably would have never known about your brother, so you’ll treasure this ability even if it seems like a burden.

    While this ability told you about your brother by reading the hearts or minds or your grandpa and mom, it also isolated you from kids your age. Your power telling you just what they were thinking which caused you to stay away from them.

    However none of that was important at the moment. Right now you were about to start your training in Shamanism, specifically Onmyoudou training from your grandfather for the coming month.

    Onmyoudou, an art that uses Shikigami, a type of nature spirit found in leaves and paper, and Goryushin for its various curses and effects. While these spirits are useful the true value of Onmyoudou, at least to you, was its specialty in divination. A skill that should help in finding your brother.

    As the month passed you learned how to summon forth a Shikigami Leaf Sprite.

    [Onmyoudou, an art in which one utilizes spirits of nature to do one’s bidding. From things as simple as pouring tea, guarding a home from demons, to even divining the future. Onmyoudou is a shamanistic art used by Japanese Sorcerers. Figures such as Abe no Seimei and even the founder of the Asakura Clan were famous and skilled Onmyouji. Level 5: At this rank you can summon forth and command a single Leaf Sprite.]

    That was one thing, yes. Manga version of X-Laws was more complex and I think more sympathetic as well. Same with their youngest member. That squad of 5 ladies who were mostly annoyances in anime wasn't present at all in manga (and thank the Great Spirit for that), certain battles and events happened at different points and didn't go the same way, and the anime was made rather kid friendly, cutting out a lot of the violence like Toriko's adaptation - the encounter with the vampire guy being probably one of the biggest examples. The anime also cut out some of the smaller plots like the Golem incident, Hao was a lot more focused on Yoh because for some reason his grand plan involved absorbing his brother's soul (no idea how that was supposed to help him, really), there was no arc about Yoh's and Anna's past and the ending arc was very different (though considering the original manga didn't get a proper one until much later is to blame here, I think).

    Overall, I'd say the anime's inferior to the manga. It cut out a lot of things, introduced characters who were about as competent as Team Rocket and much less important to the plot (filler, basically), made some of them reoccuring and pretty much only protagonist who had his past explored in any capacity was Ren, because the debacle with his family couldn't be cut out at all. And maybe Faust. Anybody else, tough shit. And like I've mentioned, everything was made kid friendly. So no blood and very little deaths, despite the impressive and sometimes gruesome bodycount of the manga.

    Oh, and that little sidekick of Yoh's gained the ability to use an oversoul, which he did maybe once or twice. With Amidamaru's blacksmith friend.
